@  Supplic... : (18 June 2015 - 02:51 PM) Kiss kiss! Hula, being a pantomime kind of dancing, is much like dancing like us Bobby dancers that pantomime every word just like he used to stop playing to hand gesture it out hehe
@  PoetryGirl : (17 June 2015 - 08:39 PM) Steph, grooving in Aloha tonight at Hula class and thought of you
@  Supplic... : (15 June 2015 - 05:19 PM) Day job? The night job pays! I just can't quite get off the island! ;) hehe, lonesome and a longway, just come play w me in Hawaii, all of you!!!!
@  HelpSlip : (12 June 2015 - 04:09 AM) keep that day job Steph and get to Atl/BlkMtn ! i can be yur ride
@  Supplic... : (10 June 2015 - 04:11 PM) It is $100 cheaper to fly into ATL first week of Aug for Blk mtn but damn dudes, it is lotsa $ to fly outta Hawaii! Maybe have a job at kava/Kombucha bar soon...
@  Supplic... : (10 June 2015 - 04:06 PM) Anyone wanna see me bad enough to get me a flight to Richmond from Hilo, HI for Pocahontas and Blk Mtn? Only gotta make it back to Denver..... Hehehe
@  Mason... : (05 June 2015 - 05:54 PM) If I spend my days more productively, I can get a lot more done than I am doing now. Not all are in that same position.
@  Mason... : (05 June 2015 - 05:52 PM) I'm not talking of solely subsistence farming. I'm more talking supplemental farming. Adding to what I'm doing. Not replacing.
@  chuckvegas : (05 June 2015 - 04:58 PM) For an interesting take on subsistence farming check out Talking Heads' "Nothing But Flowers."
@  Mango : (05 June 2015 - 12:33 PM) permaculture :)
@  PoetryGirl : (05 June 2015 - 09:51 AM) yes, Steph. It would be gracious goodness to see you. Check out milpa, a crop growing system used in mesoamerica. They have literally farmed the same piece of land without crop rotation for thousands of years. The combo naturally enriches the soil.
@  HelpSlip : (04 June 2015 - 06:52 PM) steph please come to black mountain
@  Supplic... : (04 June 2015 - 02:49 PM) and we could use a private dancer.... Hehe
@  Supplic... : (04 June 2015 - 02:48 PM) I have been harvesting Mung beans and papayas at the house. Grow your own food. Turn the soil and let it rest so bugs can wiggle out n away. Be mindful w each bite. Examine our gratefully dead bodies that are not our minds. Kiss kiss!
@  found : (04 June 2015 - 01:04 PM) I'll be your private dancer Mango.
@  Mango : (04 June 2015 - 12:43 PM) I'll lecture you little Found.
@  Mason... : (04 June 2015 - 12:39 PM) I'm down. I wouldn't call what mango and I did lecturing. Very much discussing and sharing what we believed not telling anyone what to believe. We should do this in private but I don't hang with mango much right now.
@  found : (04 June 2015 - 12:37 PM) you're a wizard... my point is I don't care about what you eat. I do care that you are happy and healthy but wouldn't lecture anyone about how to achieve either. Having said that, you and I have a date with some beef brisket next time we get together.
@  Mason... : (04 June 2015 - 12:13 PM) So does discussing complicated issues with friends. I have lots of free time.
@  Mason... : (04 June 2015 - 12:11 PM) I would say what is happening is complicated. What I'm talking about is different but a simple concept. I like to eat things. I also like to feel good about who I am. I don't think there is anything wrong with doing both. Both help me get through the night.

I know someone out there has to be planning this epic trip, too. I've never been to either. I've heard some bad things about All Good (nitrous gangs?), but it'd totally be worth it for the lineup.

I know if I go all the way up there for GFest / All Good from Georgia, I'm not gonna wanna turn around and come back home. If I'm gonna go that far (which I most assuredly am) I'll be doing both. I'm kind of thinking about trying to find some cheap way to just camp out between them, too. My budget's not all that great, and the gas to get there is gonna be ridiculous.

you're in luck, dustyn. nlqp is a campground, only $10 a night and the best venue ever. there's a quarry to swim in, a sand beach, kind folk. i stay there until wednesday, and then head down to all good. if i remember correctly, it's only a 3-4 hour trip.

There will be many doing this trip. Hoping DSO does a show or two in between or I am going to shoot up to Vermont to see Furthur on Monday. Many will go from Gfest to Allgood.

In 2008, I planned on staying the day and night after Gfest ended at NLQP. I went to the gate to inform them I was staying an additional night and the staff said everyone needed to be out the DAY after Gfest ended. We had no choice but to leave. If you are planning on staying at NLQP after Gfest, you need to talk to NLQP before Gfest to make sure you can stay.

Thanks for the info. What did you end up doing when you couldn't stay? Hopefully they'll make an exception...

I asked the day after Gfest ended at around 11am when I went to buy more ice. The guy at the front gate said no exceptions and everyone needed to be out of the place. I had no choice but to pack up and go. I drove home (6.5 hr drive). There is a state park just north of NLQP on the same road Rt. 282. I checked their website but it appears they do not offer camping. There are other places on that same road. I suggest you call NLQP and ask if you can stay after Gfest. If they say you can't, ask them for suggestions on where to camp close by. Hope this helps.

It's definitely a great weekend, but I feel like it's started to sell out a bit. This may be the last one for me (but I said that last year, too!) I fell asleep every night last year to the sound of tanks, but it obviously didn't deter me from buying a ticket for this year! I've never been to Gratefulfest either, but I can only imagine what a huge change it will be to hit All Good 10 days later! An awesome couple weeks nonetheless!!! Have a fantastic time! Safe travels :)

There are plenty of places to camp at Allgood where you won't have to deal with the tanks all night. You just have to be familiar with the lay of the land.

I agree completely! This will be my 4th year - we were late getting in last year and kinda took what we could get

Last year was my first all good and I also had heard about it being a bit sketchy. I was pleasantly surprised though. I did not see any tanks and only heard about one all weekend. Plus the one I heard about was not nitrous mafia, just a personal tank. They put up fences next to the main walkway to deter nitrous dealers and that really helped. I really would recommend All Good. The best part is that they have no overlapping sets so you don't have to choose between artists. As for going from Gratefulfest to All Good, Im lucky because I live in Maryland so its not too far to go home in between.
