I haven’t seen any mention of three sets for tonight. 12/31/88 would certainly fit the bill as far as songs go.

    Top 10 albums

Apologies in advance, I could really do this forever and I already have some glaring omissions in mind but I capped myself at 25. I did not include any Grateful Dead or live albums of any sort and I limited myself to one album per band. So even though I chose DSOTM, Wish You Were Here is also incredibly high up. There are many other cases like that. And yes, I do like The Beatles. White Album is tops for me. Bob Dylan - Time Out Of Mind Ween - Quebec Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon Miles Davis - Kind Of Blue Tom Waits - Mule Variations Traveling Wilbury's - Volume One Paul Simon - Graceland Chick Corea - Return to Forever Sleep - Dopesmoker Prince - Purple Rain Nas - Illmatic Harry Nilsson - Nilsson Schmilsson David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust Warren Zevon - Life'll Kill Ya Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath Curtis Mayfield - Superfly Frank Sinatra - In The Wee Small Hours Herbie Hancock - Head Hunters Spirit - Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus Wolf Parade - Apologies To The Queen Mary Madvillain - Madvillainy Dr. Dre - 2002 Steely Dan - Aja Talking Heads - Remain In Light Parliament - Mothership Connection
  4. I preferred the first set. Absolutely smoked from start to finish. Second set really got cooking with the dark star and killed from there on. Great show.

Thought sugaree, tmns, and the entire second set were standout. Especially the scarlet fire as per usual. Just a relentless set. Was good to see some familiar faces. Looking forward to seeing more tonight.

I’ll take the 5-28-77 sugaree. Outside of 77, give me 83 lake placid.
  7. i wouldn’t buy a $500 shirt but i’m not gonna lambast someone for trying to make some money nor would i claim someone isn’t a deadhead. that’s on the inside, not labels. deadheads can be suckers. most are.

frank, that floor gets very packed. hard for me to find space. usually get frustrated. i spent my night dancing in the lobby area. they had speakers out there so it wasn’t so bad.
  10. i will report back on saturday. not expecting anything mind blowing but i do want to see the boys. not sure how many more chances i’ll get.

    2018 NBA Finals

interesting. i thought the regular season was entertaining only because i know exactly how the playoffs are going to end. there were some good series but you always knew it would end up being cavs-warriors with warriors taking it in 5. lebron is second greatest of all time. that’s not too shabby. but he’s no michael.

could not disagree more mojo. the crowd was very into what was being put out there. that capitol shows were superb but last night was about as good as it gets. everyone has their own tastes, and you’re certainly entitled to yours and free to do what you want (obviously). i think dso does a tremendous job of highlighting all eras over the course of each tour unless there is some circumstance that leaves the band with a drummer short for a bit or something to that effect. but that is rare. i am very much pro elective. there is a certain risk reward for sure but there is an unpredictability to it that is so unmistakably dead and true to the spirit. electives allow dso to highlight not oft played songs. recreations, also very enjoyable but they feel very straight forward to me. my suggestion to you, go see more shows. you’ll see more of what you want. he was a friend of mine, if i had the world to give, believe it or not. all rare and all amazing songs. it’s also a special treat to hear something like that. rewarding people who come out to a monday night show with something that isn’t run of the mill. the show was to my liking. sorry it wasn’t to yours. but crazy to say the crowd wasn’t into it. they seem to be doing just fine with their current model.
