  1. Speaking of deercreek and the later days, during the '95 fire on the mtn, I remember thinking Jerry's playing so much lead after one verse, even played slide (again if memory is correct) but I was like what's he going to play after the next verse? Well as we all know it didn't happen that night, so I left the show in a glow thinking reprise the next night. That's what I was really upset about the next morning when the news came out if the cancel. I was like damn we missed our fire finisher.
  2. Rainfest, everybody and every thing was soaked, loved the bid ye (if I remember correctly)
  3. China doll seems like a song that is enticing to go into but once you're there it's a lot more complicated than it appeared before committing. I've been led to it only to find myself lost once the lyrics and minor chords took over the song. Songs can disappear if they aren't kept in rotation. Some songs don't dissolve as easily as others and can be played whenever without worry
  4. Billy Strings just cancelled August 22, Indy show along with 4 others. Still hanging on to hopes for 12/29 ft Wayne show. Really want born cross eyed and darkstarorchestra to have a show
  5. imagine we're all in a parking lot right now years and years ago waiting to get into the post or maybe we're in a lot up in Maine waiting to get into the speedway, nothing but miles and miles of intrigue coming up, speculations being drawn up, beers going down, grill cheese and crystals in each row of cars, someone yells at their dog Cassidy, looking for a last copy of duprees, but when they come out on stage reality hits imagination and swirls everyone up and away until it's dark and you're back in the lot again, having a well deserved brew and looking for your car for the next two hours
  6. Watching nash bridges, the opening segment has Rob Barraco playing piano and singing Bertha with Phil on bass, center stage smiling back at him and Jimmy Herring playing guitar. SFPD guy is there undercover, tye dye scarf. Never know where the next treat is coming from.
  7. Might as well just nod to summer 1985 for this week, especially Saratoga 6/27/85>Hershey 6/28/85
  8. You can hear the music from outside. We did this for Molly Hatchet a few years back when it was Annie's. Free show, but they wanted $10.00 for parking, so to make it right, we found a spot to park for free and tailgated at a car hearing it loud and clear. MH opened with like 10 classic songs ( gator country, dreams, bounty hunter, used to love hear, flirting with ect before they played a new tune. I'm not in favor of this current turn of events with concerts. Boycott, do the free outside , dancing options
  9. Muncie has a great outdoor concert park. We saw Junior Brown there a few years back. You will be in for a really nice experience. LTGTR!
  10. I picked up seasons 1 and 2 of this 30 minute comedy with Denis Leary as a detective. It's good. Never knew it was out there. Classic Leary all the way through each episode. Must have come out before Rescue Me where he highlights the NY fire department. Kinda has a It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia approach. I really need things to make me laugh. Anyone else seen the sitcom The Job, written and delivered by denis Leary?
  11. Not too soon. We've seen thousands gather to protest and yet we can't have concerts? You make a valid point on the disrespect from others about dead music and the dead community. It's systemic racism killing the music scene. I'm surprised the artists aren't spearheading it. I'm thinking of filing a civil lawsuit to be able to see my mom in a nursing home just as the amusement parks did against the health director of Ohio. Fucking Amy Acton, piece of shit dictator. She doesn't have the authority. A lawsuit was filed by Kings Island amusement park in Ohio and the next day the governor announced they would be opening. As it stands right now my mom is going to pass away without me being able to see her during her last year of life. They ain't even getting close to letting people visit their parents. They keep touting the fact of all the deaths in nursing homes giving NO HOPE, none that I can see her alive again. Concert after concert gets canceled. Billy Strings just had all his July through August shows cancelled and he is at the prime of his playing ability right now. I've been thinking of the other musicians that we lost when they were 27 and wondering if something was going to happen to him. Well it did. I'm up for marching in tye dye Greg.
  12. This is becoming a big dark cloud that is reminiscent of August 1986
  13. Thinking about who (not including family members) has taught me how to laugh: George Carlin Cheech and Chong Denis Leary Jerry Seinfeld Tex Avery Chuck Jones Joseph Heller Eddie Murphy Richard Pryor Chevy Chase John Belushi Gilda Radner Bob Newhart Don Rickles Rodney Dangerfield Bill Murray Warren Zevon Robert Hunter David Olney Alan Alda Greg from Chesterfield Rude Gr8fulpair Frank Zappa Ike Willis Ray White Lily Tomlin Chris Farley Andrew Dice Clay ????
  14. One of the first times I thought I was really hearing the lyrics was at the Wiltern in March of 1987 and I thought Jerry was signing "like a rose, like a rose leading on" I had a battery operated rose that I was holding in the air as Jerry instructed us to "turn around, turn around and I'll be there "
  15. "Was on the outside looking in for that one" that happened to me a lot on that spring 89 tour, got into one omni, outside looking in at Greensboro, and outside for the first show in Pittsburg. First time I toured with a vendor and spent time in the lot during show time. GDP did send me front row center for my home town cincy show, although I spent most of it in the 15th row running fob hornhat into d5, went up front after the final tape flip, needless to say the usher was tired of seeing my ticket by the time I used it.😗
  16. 2pm showtime? Weather perfect? Roses everywhere? Thanks for the lead, I'm putting it on now. Latter day china rider in first set and I love space leading into I will take you home, Jerry seemed to give it some extra levitation to set a beautiful platform for brent to deliver I just listened to cincy 4/7/89 Blow Away is one of best versions and Jerry's energy level throughout the whole show is inspiring. LTGTR>west la opener /soace>wheel >fantasy >jude
  17. Friday April 17th in 1987. Drove from Wyoming through Vegas, all night, picked up friend flying in from cincy at LAX at 5pm, drove like a mad man to get into the show on time, even had to score a ticket for my buddy. Cold Rain opener and Jerry with a trim, trim new haircut for the first outdoor show of the year! Irvine was a fun grassy lot and I believe it was GA, we got fairly close in the steps area, maybe GA lawn and then pavilion steps? All those California venues seemed to be GA: Frost, Greeks, New Years, SF Civic, Kaiser? What am I missing? Wiltern and warfield were assigned seats.
  18. Had the same effect on me. We drive the 10 hrs from cincy for the first night which was on a Saturday night. China rider, my friend and I drove home straight after the first, missing the second and third night. Summer tour was on , red rocks, encouraged me to go to the two night new years "run" and then do every show in 86
  19. Philly 4.8.85 walking the dog, why don't we do it, third night at the Spectrum, last show of east coast spring tour
  20. live quarantined 2 set solo acoustic from his living room tonight on nugs.tv for $4.99. I've never paid for a stream. Looking to see it tonight. Is it easy to sign up and pay for a nugs.tv broadcast? Supposed to start at 9:00 tonight. Thanks for any help
  21. 3/22/85 2nd night at Hampton. It was a green orb night
  22. The few experiences I've had with Lanois have been the most soothing and comfortable times of my life. He's one to see multiple shows because it takes at least one to realize where you're at when he takes the stage. No fears, a conpletely emotionally safe space that is a great place to go whenever possible, not often, go if you can, seriously, go, he knows the power of one
  23. Maybe you get a 20 minute sugaree at the new date.sorry it got pushed so far back, october's like next year😳
