It sounds like there's a lot of excitement and anticipation for the upcoming football season, especially for Dallas Cowboys fans! Despite some setbacks, like missing out on signing players in the legal tampering period, it's great to hear that Jerry Jones is going all in for a Super Bowl run. With a few losses but also some gains, like an extra 7th round pick, there's still plenty of hope and optimism for the team.

All we need to be successful is to draft what turns out to be the best player in the 1st 3 rounds and that once a decade 7th round pro bowler. Jerry jones is being sneaky signing no one who’s le letting starters leave. It’s deception and 4D chess. His horrible 2023 draft class will now become 1st and 2nd team all pros. He wanted them to all come along slowly and for the ones that are injured use his surgeon that will make them even faster!!!! He plays the long game. 29 years and back to the superbowl.

They say they do 76-95 which I guess if you get technical, JGB specifically kicked off late 75 after the Legion of Mary arrangement and other side projects prior to that…

I guess I saw Jerry’s Middle Finger 2 hrs ago at Skull and Roses but now I’d like to compare these two bands to hone in on best opportunity for solid JGB available. Of course JGB with Melvin and JK does the trick…

it would be tough to do Merle and Jerry stuff as it was sooo much material. Would love to hear Dso do my funny valentine

Caught Garcia Project twice last week…had a blast steeped in some gorgeous jgb…they did a 76 and then an 83,,both super well done…definitely ready for more of these guys. Had seen them once but felt like they’re going deeper now…great vibes.

if you’re craving some squeaky clean jgb, go check them out when they come around 😉

do they ever do any 73 shows. Love that Jerry jazz.

im all for more of The band. I’m also waiting for the bust out of Wilin’. That’s a perfect jubilee bust out or maybe fine tune in Nashville. Gotta think Easy to slip was just a warm up for willin. But you’d probably want Brent harmonizing on it and when he died it was all she wrote for Willin’ in my alternate history book.

So the doctor asked us what music we listen when Delilah was born. Whitney said Grateful Dead. Doc put on a spotty or some kind of mix based off the Grateful Dead. Delilah was born while morning dew was playing.

we brought her Bose wave radio to the hospital and jammed the whole 24 hours up til birth. Unfortunately they had to do a C section so we had to go in an operating room and I wasn’t allowed in until they were about to pull it out so no music. Lots of covid rules and stuff in Dec 2020. What was weird was the nurse said I didn’t have to wear a mask in our room even as nurses and doctors were coming and going and this was in the height of mask hysteria and in a hospital. I brought this face shield as it was acceptable and less bothersome and she’s like you don’t need to mask or meili. We were like sweet. I brought a little flask of good whiskey for the overnight before the birthing and got a bit buzzed too. Those birthing suites are huge and soundproof mostly so we really jammed. She did those Maryland drive in shows 6 weeks before he was born so he got music and she was her crazy dancing self with no slowdown. I was like maybe don’t jump up and down continuously lol. She conceded that dance style lol. She was also like shows sober are just as fun which is completely true. The music is the buzz.

  6. We may be able to pull off 6 of 7 shows.  Asheville x2, Nashville then 3 jubilee. Luckily my mom is begging to keep boss baby as she has to go to a graduation on Memorial Day weekend so she can grab him Asheville weekend and her parents jubilee. The Nashville will be a babysitter from 5p-2a as it’s an up and back on Tuesday but man that’s sorta rough considering we are leaving Thursday early am. The day after a night drive home is harder and harder as the years catch up and having to eat ADD meds to pull off the overnight drive. Then pack Wednesday then hit the road the next day. I was gonna just pass on Asheville and do Nashville and Jub but that made momma bear mad and gotta keep her from being grizzly so we will see.

    what’s wrong with Lafitte 55 ? 😉

I wish all of you were there the last two nights. From my seat, it doesn’t get any better. More like a fine Burgundy, though 😉

oh before I forget, the 69 from a few nights ago.  🙀🙀🙀🙀🙀🙀🙀

back to your regularly scheduled program 😉

lockdown babies have a way of killing travel. I’m guessing the last lockdown babies before 2020 were maybe during the Cuban missle crisis or at least in my town considering the United States enrichment corporation was the 2nd Russian target after Oak Ridge. On US60 on the way there, almost every home has an underground bunker and there’s 1 that has this old conversion van at a 45 degree angle sticking out of the ground with 2/3 buried. You open the back doors and that’s the entry to the bunker. Those would be morning Dew babies.

You rang, Rude? Do me a favor and cue up 7-19-89 Alpine Valley Morning Dew via the Healy Ultra-Matrix.  Play it as loud as you can, then get back to me.

That goes for the rest of you as well...  😁

but to do it justice they would need your remasters you edit bit by bit. We’ve seen you work listening to a song then being like this note should be 00101101011101 and doing your binary edits. It was like watching the matrix. You were grooving to 1’s and 0’s with a bottle of chateau lafitte Rothschild with a decayed label that was supposedly one of the last bottles from 1955. Its always interesting to watch the masters at play.

  9. John A will curse me but I’ve never been a fan of the Healy ultra matrix. I’d guess it’s b/c I never liked his boards. Maybe the matrix improves the overall feel of it but on the John A 4TB hard drive v12.0.3 that’s the only option besides straight auds for some of the late 80s with almost all 87 and 88 exclusively ultra matrix if you want a board. It does give you the sound of an arena if you wanna close your eyes and get taken back.

Yea, gimme that or any other elective show any day of the week. How else you getting Pride of Cucamonga?

got my 1st one at the electric factory new years run I think 2016. I figured the song name from the lyrics but had zero clue about it. Besides Terrapin, American beauty and skeletons(not a real studio album, I never listened to any dead studio stuff so didn’t know even though probably heard it once before. I thought it was pretty badass. Skip was singing it and I was pretty new on the Dso bandwagon but that run capped my 1st 30+ show year and it was Meili’s 27th show of 2016 helping create the monster she is today. Half the Mondays now I’m expecting the text saying going to see stolen faces for an up and back ifot grateful Monday in Nashville. See you around 1:30am. We were just trying to figure out when everything really clicked for her and the agreement was July 2-4th 2015 Chicago. The July 3rd Dso show at the Vic was pretty empty with all the peeps from the sold out July 2nd show going to see Dead 50 on the 3rd. We wanted Dso more and the place was empty and we had a massive dance area in the pit by the stage and she let go fully and the next night doing dead50 July 4th we enhanced even more and just giggled and danced the perfect 70 degree night away on what was our 2nd anniversary. After that there was no looking back. She was fully integrated into the scene and felt like she belonged vs the earlier shows not knowing the music in a place where everyone was a die hard deadhead considering it was DSO. Deadco has a bunch of tourists but Dso is the hard core heads. Her sister is going to see deadco Vegas and she said Dso is just a cover band. I’m like Deaco is a cover band ffs and nowhere near the level of DSO or several other dead bands if we want to go there. But considering we barely look at the bands during a show, the music means more than seeing the person play it. We are all people. I’ve just never been a star fucker. I respect the talent level but everyone has different talents. On that note, I would have loved to hang with Jerry for a few days and talk about everything. I’d be star fucked by Jerry no doubt and probably tiger woods.

Guess the new phrase is “never miss a Monday show!” Dang…

it’s never miss a show bro!! I’m sure all were happy besides that dude who thought pride of Cucamonga should never be played live even though it was on live from the mars hotel which at the time I thought was a live album from a show at the mars hotel. It’s not like we had Google.

  12. Dso doesn’t need to memorize a dead show note for note. They just need it transcribed and play the sheet music note for note. It’s a lot harder to flirt with the groupies when your eyes are on sheet music. I know when I played sax in jazz band jamming out some chick corea that when reading music you aren’t aware of all the hotties screaming and wanting backstage at the high school gym. But what girl can resist a Chick Corea composition. None.

  13. Great interview. Every time I hear Dino tell a story, it’s pretty much the exact way as the last. For me so many details change over time. I even had an argument with Chris about him being at jubilee when he said he wasn’t that year(he was). Note eatons mention of the nitrous mafia as I couldn’t find the old post where Eaton talked about it destroying the scene and how you’d become persona non grata if you had a tank at any show. Think someone was asking about bringing a tank to jubilee and I said that’s about the only thing besides fighting or stealing that will get you booted in a second from jubilee. There was one year pretty early on at jubilee that we heard a tank going and a swarm of security went on the hunt.

"some people chase the '69 show"

    made me chuckle.

    Only took 23 years.

    Praise DSO.

but don’t forget the Ticketmaster reviewer who said the dead quit playing those songs for a reason!! From an interview Jerry said he quit playing the eleven b/c it was too hard and they had to practice it too much to keep it in rotation. Maybe Tea can talk to Dso like he did hyryder and have them pull out a 67 show with a fast surfer style cold rain lol.

  14. I’m so glad Jerry jones is going all in this year shooting for a superbowl! Unfortunately he set his calendar wrong and Dallas was the only team who didn’t sign a player in the legal tampering period. We only lost 4 starters so far. But we also have an extra 7th round pick Booyah. Yes we traded our 4th rounder to the 49ers for a failed QB in Trey Lance and added 5mil guaranteed to our books this year. But we have 3 draft picks out of the 1st 200!!! That will be our all in.

  15. Shows are way less important than before. He should be ready for his 1st jubilee in 2028 I’d guess. Getting away fit a weekend here and there is awesome but I’m pretty mentally tired and feel lucky to have gotten 5 Dso shows on fall tour. The drive home Sunday night from Chattanooga sucked but was necessary to get max shows. We will pop Dso every time they are within 6 hours of us as long as weekend. It sorta sucked that we had 5 Dso and 3 phish all in a 1 month period.

  16. You did have a babysitter at jubilee last year. Just sayin. That’s why I joke about the nanny. And I don’t have the money to spare for 2 Hawaii shows. If no baby we’d likely be there but 5k for 2 shows ain’t happening. My parents live at their beach house 3 months of the year. She kept him last weekend but not flying to Hawaii unless staying a week or so and that’s 10k and definitely a no. Plus I don’t want to be away from him for long periods like Europe. We can’t wait until he’s ready for a show but it ain’t now. He’s ultra happy with endless energy. We’d just be chasing him around and good luck with asking him to stay put. It’s 55 outside and he refuses to put shoes on. He’s a barefoot kid as it is but when it’s this temp he considers warm I can barely get a shirt on him lol. The whole beach week last year he was shirtless inside and out lol. He’s bruised all over being so rough but never cries. They say don’t be like oh crap are you ok or it will make the kid think he should cry. Not this one. He thinks it will make us make him stop so he never cries but that’s a product of his wild man personality. Thought a trampoline would wear him down. Nope. I’m getting him into football. Strong safety as he’s gonna prob be 6’ or 6’1” and not skinny like his daddy. My moms freaking out already about wanting him to play football.

  17. Beach July 4-14 staying with Chris on the 4th at the halfway point. In a few years when he’s a bit older he will do the 3 week beach run like my brothers kids and we may try to pop one of the 4th of July mini runs. There was a stretch where we were the only 2 doing those whole 6-7 show runs. I know we were the only ones that finished at summerfest on that scorcher temperatures run.. I think we were also the only ones to do San Diego through redrocks too. I loved those mid summer runs. I think Scottie did some of that and remember us asking if he wanted to do deadco shoreline with us since we were in the bay already and he was like no way. That is my all time fav mid summer run. We also saw moe and phil and friends do a Sunday 2p-8p show at the beach park in perfection weather. Had brunch at terrapin crossroads and Phil was walking around the restaurant saying hi to peeps but didn’t stop at ours lol. Just thinking about that summer makes me giddy inside.

I can’t even guess. It’s Dead and Company. They don’t follow the rules to keep it random. I don’t see the Grateful Dead set list patterns transferring over. Yea, it’s different. I totally dig Dark Star Orchestra’s elective set lists. They move the music forward. My last show, Dead a Company opened with Da Wimen ah Smatah. So, yea, you could get a Deal opener. Did Jerry ever do a deal opener? Did they ever play Deal in Vegas? Knowing Jerry, he was going to make us wait sixteen years.

guessing you missed the joke ;)
