take a few heavy ****'s and get into this...almost sounds like Jerry wants to go into Don't Let Go after Wang Dang Doodle......... the whole show could be summed up in DEAL, great Omni feel to the recording.... as I listen to this--the Birdsong becomes the Don't Let Go

In honor of the Staebridge bomb-drop:

Grateful Dead Live at Fillmore West on 1970-06-06

Huge bummer to not find the 1st set on archive :( . The Alligator-> Drums-> LoveLight-> Not Fade Away-> LoveLight is AWESOME even if the Lovelight reprise gets chopped a bit (ok > it really hurts).

Kudos to the band for serving up this dish!

Anyone know what the Marin Vets Memorial Auditrium was/is like? How big and any particulars to the site? This sounds crisp throughout the whole show

It's a nice mid size venue. Or, in relation to 80s Dead, a super small venue. It holds about 2,000. A nice feature is the main aisle runs parallel to the stage, seapating the lower and upper sections. So there is no dreaded center aisle where the sweetspot would otherwise be. It sounds quite nice, perhaps short of great. I think the Dead rented it to record In The Dark, as they weren't having much luck going into an actual studio.

6/14/76 ;^)

What a show THAT one was... and the Betty Board recording is just dripping with goodness!. Especially love the Crazy Fingers (one of the best ever played, imo), Dancin', and that super spacy jam between Help and Slipknot.

I second the notion. One of my fave 76 shows. Probably my favorite crazy fingers and super spacey slipknot. Lest we forget the great cosmic Charlie and the first set playin closer. There is a tiny miscue in the second set wheel opener but i can look past that. Is that the only set opening wheel? This show is in heavy rotation in my car.

JGB April 26, 1982 @ The Stone (which has got to be home to some of the most blistering recordings considering how tiny that place is/was) first set opens with a Sugaree, Melody, Tore Up, Heaven's Door>After Midnight! just added to www.sugarmegs.org Kudos to anyone getting a recording out of the stone, we were terrified when we D5'd the January 24 and 25th shows of 1987. this after midnight is ridiculous. about have way through it Jerry turns his guitar up and the raunch blazes through the speakers! Do yourself a favor and get into this as you wait for the next DSO show you can get into!

try this one on for size, today in dead history....

nice soundboard, diggin the 1/2 step so far

Such a tender start to High Time, almost sounds as though Jerry plays slide to start and Bobby has his feathering throughout that Rob Eaton seems to have mastered over the years. Really great Keith here also......."come on in when it's raining...." this song never seems long enough.... any extended Hunter version people know of?
