"digging up the bodies buried long ago..."

my dear friend Ray mills passed away on Tuesday May 1st . Met him backstage at the peace center in Greenville SC July 29, 1994 and then the next night at Kidd brewer stadium in Boone NC, sent him the tapes of both shows and he then sent me over 300 pages of articles and stuff on ELH.  throughout the years I'd travel to North Carolina for Tony rice and Emmylou shows, he was really the person that related to Emmylou as much I do, its sad that he is no longer here. This forum is a place I like to visit daily, thanks to all of you for making this a wonderfilled world. Thanks to DSO for keeping the doors open and the lights on. Hickory Wind, goes nice after Michelangelo

Yes, this has always been one of my favorite versions of FOTD for that very reason! Keith was so hot and cold during that period, but he was definitely "on" that night. Jerry is in such fine voice, too. Actually, even though 7/8 gets all the raves, and is truly great in many ways, I find 7/7 to be even better overall.

7:15:89. Deer Creek. The Queen Jane has life and I actually was enjoying it before I realized what song it was!  Jerry’s Peggy O is spirited and beautiful.

Listen to Bobby’s falsetto on He’s Gone  12/8:89.  Gives me chills.  Love how Garcia rolls it to ya.
