As we move down the streach to October it looks like this National League predication was dead on. Only the Reds aren't there....but we can understand why they had to be in his picks.

Tigers Bullpen is hot garbage. Their 1st yr manager sure showed his lack of experience by trotting the same bunch out 2x in a row. I know you want to show confidence in your team but that wasn't the spot. It was time to shuffle the deck or put all the chips in the middle. He did neither. Too bad.

I love my Tigers but they aren't winning 3 straight against the O's lineup. The window for Detroit is closing fast and may already be shut

Somebody break up the KC Royals!  I mean wow.

Orioles and Royals move ahead.  It looks like the Nats are circling the drain at the hands of the Giants and there is once hell of a game tonight with the Dodgers visiting the Cards.

When this thing started, there was a chance of some CRAZY matchips for the world series:  Angels v Dodgers / Nats v O's / St Louis v KC.  Based on where things are now, St Loius v KC is the only real possibility.

I'm going to go O's v Giants.

Both AL teams look unbeatable, should be great. Happy for both cities, it has been awhile. Cards and Dodgers could easily go 5, giving the Giants a big edge if they can finish things off tonight.

The Cardinals took the series, 3 to 1, from the Dodgers tonight.

In the seventh inning with the Cards down two to zip, and two men on base,

The Big Boy Matt Adams stroked one into the stands.

The Cardinals bullpen then held on for the win.

....to the tune of a song from the seventies by Brewer and Shipley....

Waiting for a hit to take me home, sweet Mary

Hopin' that the hit will come soon.

I bin away a country mile,
Now I'm returnin' showin' off a smile
I met all the girls and loved myself a few
Ended up by surprise like everything else I've been through
It opened up my eyes and now I'm

Sitting down low in the left field bleachers

One stroke over the fence.

Game 7 tonight, like to see a close one for a change in this series.

You got it!

Not the outcome I would have preferred, but a great Series. Congrats to the Giants and especially to Bumgarner. He pitched an historic series and an especially memorable relief job in this game.

The game last night was one of the most interesting and entertaining games I've seen in baseball. Everything from Sandova's wink to the camera early in the game to his falling on his back in joy after catching the last pop up out was wonderful baseball. We got to see a magnificent fielding play by the Giant's econdbase man, flipping the ball with his glove to start a double play. The star of the playoff, Bumgarner, usually a starting pitcher, coming in to pitch five innings in relief to get his third winning game of the series. And with two out in the bottom of the nighth the Royals hit a ball past the centerfielder to get a man on third. I think he should have tried to get home on that play....especially since he ended up still standing on the bag at the end of the game.
