Bizarro thread: Dead song you do not really like

There aren't that many.  Candyman and slow FOTDs come to mind.  And Must Have Been The Roses.  I am BIG FAN of the Jerry ballads, which makes my least fav dead tunes all the Stranger (pun intended).  I guess those three I mentioned are just the lowest rungs on the ladder, so to speak.

Tennessee Jed can be tough to get into for me.

This may be the only song other than drums space that I skip with any regularity when listening to shows.

Some of the obvious ones apply for me... day job, push comes to shove, wave to the wind.

Im not huge on might as well.

Chucks piece on eyes was hilarious.

I think a lot depends on if you are at a show or just listening at home or in the car. There are a lot of songs that aren't my favorites that can be really fun at a show (cowboy songs come to mind) and others like roses, BTW, slower FOTD etc. That can slow a show down but I love listening to traveling in the car. The one song I've never been able to get into is definitely NFA. Nothing screams head to the exit and listen for the encore from a distance more than that one to me.

I've been listening to the Grateful Dead since 1993. Here are the songs I currently loathe (But it took years of listening and concerts to get here):

Iko-Iko

Women R Smarter

Me and My Uncle

Tennessee Jed

They Love Each Other (Post 1973 versions)

Dayjob

Franklin's Tower

Dear Mr Fantasy

Don't Ease Me In

Uncle John's Band

Ok, with the exception of day job, this set would have rocked my world. The essence of GD. "One man gathers what another man spills"

"Rediscovering" music and energy I thought was gone

through DSO has made me much more appreciative

of any and all song selections played at a show.

That said, Jerry first set songs that were played

frequently (TJ, BEW, RonR) would be less positively

received because I always hoped for one of lesser

played first set Jerry songs (DDB, DW, ALT, SL)

Praise DSO

Great thread!!

Ship of Fools - ugh! I always think "why couldn't it be Stella or Black Peter or Wharf Rat instead?"

Jack-A-Roe - "why couldn't this be Peggy-O instead?"

Comes A Time and To Lay Me Down - just never a fan

Easu - "at least its not Picasso Moon"

Rooster - "at least it's not Wang Dang"

Wang Dang - "at least it's not Rooster"

Touch - "at least its not Alabama Getaway or Don't Ease." And how much fun is it to have a drunk touchhead dancing wildly into your back screaming all show right into your face

All Over Now
