A band I saw last night

I caught Better offDead last night at the 8X10 in Baltimore. Pretty damn good, fun party time, great group of followers. Bertha good lovin’ opener, sweet Peggy-o, China Ryder second set opener, U S bluz  second set closer. A bunch of fun stuff in the middle. Superb so many roads. They don’t necessarily play tunes where you would expect them in the set list. Basically always elective. I’m gonna describe them as their thing is to take a tune and build and build kinda like a free bird jam but not really. Go see them to fill the void when Dark Star isn’t around.

Saw Billy Strings in Lexington last night. Sold out the Manchester Music Hall. Last time in Lexington he was in a small club. This time decent sized hall. Awesome show. Wish I could have gone on to Louisville tonight!

Man I’ve been on cash or trade for months trying to get Louisville tix. Sold out 2 nights in an hour and no one is letting go of them.

Just got home from Steely Dead - They were really great.

I don't know what I expected going in, but it was certainly exceeded.

Some really excellent transitions - What they're doing resonates with my own sensibilities in a way I like and appreciate.

My first time seeing A-Bear and I was quite impressed.

Go see these guys.

Here to confirm that it was in fact awesome.  My two favorite bands, melted into one. A bear, two  keyboards, drums,  bass. Homeboy from the lodge sat in on Sax but no one touring with them- surprising as horns are a big part of Steely Dan.

That looks awesome! I was the biggest Steely Dan freak before I discovered the Grateful Dead. Kid Charlegmane sandwich! Wow! I would definitely go see that. Thing is, do they tour or do I have to travel to the double Helix? Hey, I just realized, do you get that from a Steely Dan tune?

Which song is that?

No,  it's a random inside joke that no one here is inside of. Suffice to say that my hilarious and Brilliant friend was once talking,  while under the influence of Lady L, about the nature of DNA and finished his diatribe by yelling  "double helix!" While spinning  and recreating the double helix. It was a 'had to be there's moment, one that will never be created again. Sakada was there, maybe he's lurking around the forums and can attest to the brilliance of the moment.

All really good but I loved Green Earrings and the transition from Deal>reelin in the years was top notch.  Way to go A-bear.
