Come on Rude - let's test that foot!   There will be 2 stages - that's all I know so far....

I'm kinda with you Rude, might want to catch Peter Rowan and Cal. Kind but don't want to hang all day' might be really crowded by evening, as DSO sells it out by themselves. I'm on the fence this year.and Pisgah or DSO have no particular info yet.

Cali kind will be solid. I will probsbly spend some time over there during the day as long as we can come and go. The kids will like being outside with the music. Good chance to catch up with friends and such. But no of course just like Jubilee I’m there for DSO and if I’m only there when DSO plays that’s just fine with me.

On this camping thing. Never had camping here before. Always been one of the best of times. Most of us make our plans for sleep pretty early on for this weekend as this is a pretty special one for many of us. I don’t think they needed to add camping to add bands. They aren’t selling this as camping festival but they are giving us a bit more to enjoy.

Just my two cents.

Most people either to Super 8 or KOA. Some of us will get Airbnb places and such. Usually some pretty epic after show hangs at the super 8 and in some of these houses if you fortunate to catch the invite. So many different memories from late night super 8

As MC said, best late night spots are down by the creek at Super 8 and the houses of friends on the mountain side.   Less than two weeks now...13 days if I can count that high.

Peace and Love,

Doc

The pool is where the Fancy folk swim. The creek is a mountain spring. You can get hypothermia within 15 seconds I hear or at least it will shrink a man’s balls. But it’s like a sirens song that has drawn one or 2 drunken lost sailors to her shores. She wipes away the memory of it and they are left to wake in confusion the next day. I’ve been lucky to not hear her call as it’s supposedly beautiful as well as deadly but I know one man who has lived to tell the tale. I hear he’s returning to the same spot to hear her lovely song again this year. I pray for his soul.

He was just having his sins washed away - he did not blackout and wake up in the creek.  Honest.

The man who’s tale I tell only has glimpses of memory that the sirens let him retain. He still has those soaking wet boxers I hear. The rumor is that they have never dried and is cursed to have to wear these wet garments until the day he passes when he will be laid to rest at sea in hopes of uniting with the siren for eternity.

wonder which bands play what days? Also wondering if we will have more freedom to come and go from the concert area being it’s a jubilee vibe or if you’ll have to commit to staying for the remainder once you decide to enter? Curiosities galore. Can’t wait to get down on the mountain

Looks like dreamy weather for PBC shows! Mid 80s high and ☀️ / mid 60s low...Pretty darn good for the South! It’ll feel like May.

I’d like to see a schedule too and the rules for entry. I hope pisgah or Dso gets that out soon. If it is out, I need help finding it for sure.

A song that for me totally embodies the relationship between two incredible talents that speak to one another thru their instruments. They both really shine in this one. Heard Jeff do it last year, I think Atlanta, and he fucking killed it.  Makes me emotional to hear Jerry sing it during this era. He was awesome.

I did both those jgb merriweather shows, alpine and poplar creek. Horn hat AKG 460's > dbx224(battery converted) >d5. The dixie at merriweather, the lonesome at Alpine and the let's spend at poplar were choice. Heading to Louisville this weekend for Uli jon roth , closest thing to hendrix I've ever seen. My first deal was when jg opened for fz August 1984 in Chicago. the studio version is a good listen.

I love this song. I love the record version, and I love how it changed over the years. There were more than a few hot ones in 1983-1984, then while always good, it seems that 1989 brought out extra hot ones again. I love this one with JGB, its a toss up between this one and the Alpine Valley shows from the summer which I like best from that year.

    • The Motorcycle Song -- Arlo Guthrie
      By: goganious · 02/09/2019
I once bought a kitten and he just kept meowing and meowing. He talked quite a bit. Then I started stringing up my guitar that evening, and he came over and started pawing at the frets, meowing meowing meowing. I looked at this overly talkative creature who was now trying to play his dad's guitar, and the name was obvious at once: Arlo.  12 years later, he still talks a lot. Love Arlo Guthrie. Such a unique and funny personality. Have seen him a few times. He always puts on a great show.
