It is my opinion....

Ron's comment seems to have brought an end to a very active chain.  Let's play nice, people. Like you, Ron, I am old and in the way, but I'm sure that Mason meant no offence to us. Plus, this forum is meant to be welcoming to all ideas (except Rude's, of course).

That is the most asinine, chicken shit remark I have ever heard.  Maybe you you can get a new Auschwitz built here in Amerika, just ship us worthless old bastards off and get it over with.

FUCK YOU!

Relax Ron,  I'm sure Rick is just being sarcastic. He is correct though in my opinion, we can't just be so accepting in losing our freedoms. We now have the government paying us to stay home,  they will let us know when it is safe to go out again if ever. If there was absolutely nothing going on right now, how would we know the difference if we're stuck at home with our only news being what they feed us on TV? It's a dangerous precedent.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion, including me. I also have the right to not read them. there are a lot of attitudes in this thread that disturb me.

As I said earlier there Is evidence that these drastic measures do save lives.  I don't trust or do I believe a word that comes out of Trumps mouth, but there are too many Doctors and Scientist saying that this has to be done.

I will continue to maintain the forums.  I will no longer accept Donations and have removed the link.  To those of a you who have financially supported the forums thru the years I thank You.

I remember reading The Giver in middle school. They executed the old.

My comments were tongue in cheek. Do we actually think the nfl gonna start on time?  I don’t.

I do however think like 2much here and there will be far reaching implications of what’s happening here. Implications that go well beyond the virus.

I am however really upset with myself for letting my sarcasm and utter boredom offend Ron the way it has. I from here forth out will not post on this thread.

I met Ron one time before a show in KS. I considered it a great honor. I have nothing but the utmost respect for him. He has done so much for myself and this community. His contributions to this scene are immeasurable. I take offending him to heart.

You may say Fuck You. I say I love you.

Love is real

I think a lot of communication gets lost in texting. No body language, no inflection in your voice, etc. it is so easy to misunderstand and to be misunderstood. One things for sure, sarcasm doesn’t work in texting. I hope one of the fallouts of this Coronavirus mess is that we get back to the good old days, with some face to face conversations. Of course, the faces will have to stay six feet apart. (Sarcasm)

My post, above, was meant to help re-activate the thread, not set the forum on fire!  Ron's and Mason's actions are unwarranted and should not be supported by any member of the community.

Dude, this forum is here for us ONLY because Ron shepherds it. Loose canons on here are about to torpedo a really excellent (and longstanding!) watering hole for Star Heads. I would urge some of us to TAKE A STEP BACK and go outside for the some fresh air....it may do you good.

Covid-19 is destroying us from within!!!!  Well actually no shows is the culprit. I’m up to 2 full dead shows per day now. It’s the only thing that satisfies. Netflix no longer cuts it. Single barrel bourbon and Dead is my life now. 4:30ish hsve my 1st drink. 1st dead show is around 3pm. Play games on phone and drink and dead. I hate it. It’s not like my home life was all good out every night and eat and drink but that’s not even an option. Rejecting going to the casino is way more satisfying than no option at all to gamble/eat/drink. I’ve decided I’m going to the beach house or something. Can’t take it any more

Ron I wear my old and in the way tshirt constantly now and fault you not for your reaction.

Talking shit out loud to let off steam in this environment shouldn’t result In draconian action. MC is young and perhaps in this instance he knows not what he is saying but in the aggregate represents a positive force for much in what we are aligned.

I would ask to put off rash decisions until the next show.

Ron -

As for the first paragraph I quoted: well said, succinct, and I couldn't agree more.  The fact that it took Florida's Republican governor until today to fully enact sensible measures is yet another body blow in the partisan world of Trump. I mean, why shut down while the President is so optimistic it'll be business as usual by Easter?

As for the second paragraph I'm confused about how we got there, acrimonious moments in this tread or otherwise. There's no reason you should bear 100% of the costs around here.

Well  they've done it here. For some twisted reason they've deemed golf nonessential. I got one last 9 holes in this evening. No carts, no rakes,  no need to touch the pin,  never got within 10 ft. of my playing partners. Good exercise and no spread risk.

Maybe a loophole! Course near me is still open,  have a 4 pm tee time tomorrow. This course is allowing carts but only one golfer per cart and they are wiping them down before and after use. I think I'll still walk,  I've been sitting enough

My opinion? It’s not up to the band or the fans. It’s up to the virus and the way we react to it. I don’t think it’s going away for a long time. It’s already to late for us to do a really good job. It’s going to get to the point that it hits close to every one’s home, family. Then, we’ll take the necessary precautions. Unfortunately, people will go back to business as usual, between the psychological  and financial stresses. We will still have 95% of the population without any immunity to it, haven’t caught it yet or died from it. I suspect that it’ll be a mess until a vaccine or some sort of preventative meds come along. My brother described it like steering a large ship. It takes a long while to make it turn. I think it’s going to take a grass roots approach for success. It can’t come from the top down. Our fearless leader is incompetent. Just my casual, somewhat intelligent observation. I am not a scientist or a doctor.   I think we have to look at this like Jerry’s coma times two. but remember, when things got going again, a fun time was had by all. Never give up hope.
That’s all, thanks for letting me share.

If Andy Beshear, KYs gov was President he’d be enjoying 80% approval ratings. He’s solid. Smart compassionate and well spoken. Takes all questions and puts the blame on himself even if doesn’t deserve it. It’s why our apex isn’t until May 15th supposedly. He got us up to speed too quickly which is lowering but delaying the curve. Not sure if that’s better than armageddon and then just getting on with life. But he’s prob a lock to be re-elected as a Democrat in the reddest state in the country(lower the education level the higher % trump party) We are definitely a weird political state. Tennessee was having 5k people in Nashville on broadway partying after all gatherings were locked down here. It’s why we hsve the lowest infection rate of any of the 7 states we touch.

I guess many of you are finally figuring out that live music will be a thing our grandkids say you mean more than 10 people gathered in 1 spot? Why didn’t you just use your ocular implants to virtually watch the show?  How did you guys survive Covid-22 and and the East Mississippi virus.

You are almost correct. West Virginia has lower rate. That’s because it has everything to do with population density and little to do with who is Gov.

Epicenters are in cities not in cornfields.

KY has the lowest population density of all the state it touches...except WV.

Gov of NY gets most plaudits.... in state with highest rate it touches.

As far as wether or not as a society we are being wise...let’s see how it feels in the end.

The unwarranted actions to which I referred were the taking down of the donations link (Ron)

That has nothing to do with this thread and I should not have posted it here.  I owe you all an explanation and plan to soon.  Right now there is too much Drama in my life (having very little to do with this thread).

I'm sorry I got out of control and behaved in a manner I have preached against for years!  I have edited that post, a little too late. In my defense it (to me) was like a slap in the face.

As Rick said we have met and I think he is a great person and I did and do consider him a friend.

Hey now! How's it going!?

The world is super surreal. I walk around my house and all appears normal but it is a farce. I have enjoyed having more time to do the things.... it may seem selfish but gosh, I was super ready to just cruise a little and there are so many things I like to do  but there isn't ever enough time. I got to drink from the fountain within. And then you hear of the horrors and think my goodness, will we return to another better normal anytime soon that resembles the past? I know 3 of the only 50 people ( the real farce) with COVID in the county. Two are physicians.

I officially filed for my whole office for unemployment today. :-((. My employees are so supportive and champion our office. It is killing me to have to send them home. We are closed except for emergencies. As the numbers climbed, I became a little more anxious not so much at getting the virus, but being asymptomatic and the thought of passing it to others.

I HAD to go to the grocery store. Ugh, people who wore masks did not respect my 6 foot parameter; um, the masks are a barrier but  I still don't want you near me. I am wearing a bandana mask that is folded several times, loop hair ties on, fold in the edges and wear looped on my ears. Then there are those who wear gloves, touch everything, everywhere,  and do all the things they shouldn't as if the gloves are magically disinfecting all they touch. dang, Butthead.

lol Gave my kids a talk that sounded a lot like an STD talk. S. hung out with W. who is a social butterfly. Then C. hung out with S. Now, V and C are hanging out and it is just like V. hung out with W. Then C. and V. are going to hung out with B. No, don't do that to B. Don't be a social slut! My kids are on lockdown. Feeling badly for us all.....

Stay fresh guys. It will pass. Maybe not as fast as we want. Stay safe, stay away from others. They have been trying to make a vaccine to a coronavirus for decades..... not sure it will happen. Wear a mask in public. It's smart.

he closed bars the same day as Washington state while New York has everything opened. West Virginia is also more isolated. Nashville had a block party on broadway when we couldnt go out to eat. It’s why we are predicted to apex May 15th. He likely closed everything too early so Kentucky will all get infected later. And don’t act like Indiana has less cornfields. Theres 1 population center there.
