I’m not trying to argue in circles. I’m listening. No I don’t agree with this. If they can do this given real danger, they can turn around and do whenever they want. They now know that we will accept shut down. Doesn’t matter the cause. We’ve found ourselves in Soviet Russia nazi Germany. I happened to believe that getting Trump out of office May be the most important thing facing our country right now. Not the coronavirus. I also have friends who own small business. They going to have to file bankruptcy. Some of them have kids. I think the economic health of this country may rival the importance of the corona virus. I don’t think right and wrong is so black and white here.

I learned on Breitbart that people in hazmat suits are crisis actors and the death toll is fake. It’s evidently a worldwide conspiracy to take down trump. If you want to see how the weirdos think I suggest you check out their comment section there. These people are forced to flip flop in their beliefs daily to coincide with trump and I believe having to daily change your defense is causing their 9th grade educated minds to melt. At 1st they said trumps right not to take this serious and the liberal media wants to destroy the country just to take down trump. Now it’s No leader could have responded quicker to protect America. The one fact we do know is these liberal governors and mayors are faking the death toll to hurt trump and the one business not being hurt is for crisis actors. You know the ones that liberals hire to act like dead bodies and the siblings of kids killed in school shootings that never happened. New York must have hired thousands of them.

MC it’s about not overwhelming the health care system in a 6 week period. This will be the most people die from a virus in America in years and if we didn’t slow it, it would all happen not in a 6 month flu season but a 2 month period. Plus you don’t need ventilators for flu.

I’m doing my part to help flatten the curve and try to get us back to normal as fast as possible. I don’t know what more you can ask me to do. I truly feel for those losing their lives and those that our sick.  I pray we get ahead on this. I don’t know what’s right. That’s why I’m listening. But I do know this virus is taking food of my table. Off my friends tables. That’s not good

this is hurting us all. I had event orders cancelled. I won’t have shit to do for months. Was my dead time anyway so tour was gonna be perfect. But with live music cancelled forever I need to find a new hobby. Cosmic mike was ahead of the curve stopping seeing music and doing climbing instead.

I guess everyone knows spring tour East won’t happen. Jubilee prob 10% shot. Early Summer tour is a questionable now. At this point I wouldn’t want to be shoulder to shoulder in a show.

what sucks is it sounds like this is pretty bad to catch just for normal people. Getting a cough and fever for 2-3 weeks sounds sucky.

Rude. I’m listening. Protecting myself and my family. I totally understand their side of argument. Sadly it may not be working. They are overwhelmed and the hysteria isn’t making it any better as healthy people show up to try to get tested. But I’m listening. Everyone I know is. We don’t have a Sam Adams amongst us.

We would’ve paid the tea tax.

If Jubilee has to be set back, I would suggest Labor day weekend.  Went to Hookahville in 2007 where DSO played several sets - one acoustic. That was Labor day weekend. I had a memorable moment there - "Where were you when you found out that Appalachian State beat Michigan?

Born and raised in a county (Kings NY) now under siege.

Escaped long ago and live in a county (Warwick IN) that has < 10 cases.

In fact the vast majority of counties in the area have these statistics.

All southeast Illinois counties in Evansville IN area have 0 cases.

But I am hunkered down like the majority.

I am quite skeptical over this throw out the baby with the bath bath water “solution” to this pandemic. I do not trust “government” or “media” for facts or non biased factual information. Hence the final answer will be in arrears and surely debated along political lines.
Is 1 death acceptable? 10? 10,000? (Which is 2009 H1N1 level and we did practically nothing.)

How many lives does the cure have to cost before it is prohibitive?

All I know Spanish flu was worse. So that’s the ceiling before this one?
We had 9/11 and next thing you know we got TSA...and getting shook down before flying forever. Similarly expecting knee jerk reaction life changes.
Future pandemic panics will cause hoarding and other issues on rumor and innuendo.

So grandparents dance and shake their bones...

Agree, more or less. Maryland governor is doing a stay at home thing tonight at eight. 15,000 people in the whole county, three cases. I work outside as a gardener, by myself. They’re telling me I have to take the Spring off from my gardening livelihood. I find that hilarious.
.....Test me, test me, why don’t you arrest me?

You are allowed to garden for a living bro.

In the next few days I will put the tomatoes, and pepper, and mellons out into my small garden. They are about ten inches tall now, all started from seed, some seed from last year's fruit.

Round and round, the cut of the plow in the furrowed field
Seasons round, the bushels of corn and the barley meal
Broken ground, open and beckoning to the spring; black dirt live again

Peace and Love,

Doc

Spanish Flu, maybe it it should be called Kansas Flu, the first known case was a soldier at Fort Riley KS

Paraphrased From an article on history.com

.....the Spanish flu killed an estimated 675,000 Americans among a staggering 20 to 50 million people worldwide. Certain U.S. cities fared far worse than others, ..... there’s evidence that the earliest and most well-organized responses slowed the spread of the disease—at least temporarily—while cities that dragged their feet or let down their guard paid a heavier price.

Philadelphia’s public health director, said " soldiers were only suffering from the old-fashioned seasonal flu and it would be contained before infecting the civilian population".

He  insisted that the "Liberty Loan parade" must go on....... On September 28, a... procession of soldiers, Boy Scouts, marching bands and local dignitaries stretched two miles through downtown Philadelphia with sidewalks packed with spectators.

Just 72 hours after the parade, all 31 of Philadelphia’s hospitals were full and 2,600 people were dead by the end of the week.

In St Louis when Flu first spread into civilian population, they wasted no time closing the schools and busiinessess, and banning all public gatherings. .... When infections swelled as expected, thousands of sick residents were treated at home by a network of volunteer nurses.

St Louis suffered 1/8th (12.5%) as many deaths as Philadelphia

This is not the entire article, I tried to not alter the context of it

I don't really care what was done or not done about H1N1.  It is apparent to me that this is much deadlier than other strains due in part to the fact that symptoms are not as apparent with this virus, and that "social distancing" (or whatever the fuck you want to call it) actually help.

Maybe I'm being selfish hoping people will take this serious. I am SCARED (and I am depressed). If I get sick they won't waste a hospital bed on me. Hopefully I'll be in that 12.5%.

The only point of social distancing is so you do get a bed Ron. It will likely eventually get to all of us. This just makes sure everyone has a shot to live. I accept this and that’s why im not bitching about. I hate it. It’s sucks balls with nothing to do. Listening to 2 dead shows a day plus hours of Netflix at night. Raining again. Good lord. A couple days of beautiful weather let us escape to remote areas to hike by the lake but the rain is oppressive.

I’m coming around to it. I’ve been hearing talk about possibly continuing social distancing laws for those over the age of 65 forever. Insurance companies backing this hard. Makes sense. The sick and elderly always at danger to get exposed to something. Keep them in doors and away from others is a good idea.

My friends car broken into last night. The looting and lawlessness has begun. I think I may go get myself a TV tonite.

that’s weird. I suggest you buy guns not TVs to stop looters. And whatever you do, do not leave anything that let’s intruders know that toilet paper is in the house!!!!

so we quarantine for over a year until a vaccine is on the market?  I’ll risk death before that.

Biggest issue——singing at concerts shoots virus particles everywhere. People need to be informed that crowd singing is not acceptable. This is what we’ve been waiting for. An excuse to silence the singers. One infected person in the crowd could infect hundreds hurling his spittle everywhere as he screams lyrics. This must not be allowed to happen. Venues must pass out cheap surgical masks to every person to keep transmission to a minimum. A large full stage sneeze guard needs to be installed at every venue. Singers will be escorted out. Keep crowds to 1/2 capacity. To enter you must show no fever and pass an instant test. Once you have a negative test result you can enter the venue. Once all venues are set up like this we can begin to see live music again which I still believe will be not before fall.

On another note I’ve seen all these articles that refer to streaming concerts as a new phenomenon. Then they act like this is a suitable replacement for live shows which shows what idiots the writers are. The “bands” they refer to in many of these articles show how out of touch with our scene they are. Most jam band fans I know prefer listening over watching but then again the stage show is nonexistent and I hate when they zoom in on the guitar for minutes. The only acceptable video shows the whole stage plus lights to give a feel of the show.

No music until fall seems likely.

on a positive note, it looks like the NFL plans to start as scheduled. I don’t think the government will lift the bans without businesses forcing them to do so. The NFL going forward as planned would be a huge signal to bars and restaurants to go ahead and re open despite government bans. We can’t wait for a vaccine.

Ive got aN overseas factory making n95 masks wholesale. If you need 2k, I’ll order you some at my cost. At that qty they are around $2ish a unit. Surgical masks are around .50/unit at 2k. That’s enough to last 1 person 5-6 years wearing them everywhere. You hand surgical masks out to everyone who comes to visit you and make them wear them at all times. I’m wearing a motorcycle helmet with filtration system at all times from now on. Thanks #westcoastchoppers for the custom cdc level 4 suit helmet with Jalepeno green flames.
