  2. Phil and friends 7/29 Brooklyn bowl Nashville with Grahame Lesh, nicki bluhm, and the band Dawes. unfortunately even arriving an hour before show we see there’s a AA baseball game going on that’s connected to the venue. After 3 full parking lots we end up a half mile away. If you aren’t familiar with Nashville, the parking sucks and is expensive. We decided to bowl a game pre show. $40 later we pop into the concert area. This is such a super cool new complex (opened worst time ever 3/20). The sound was so bad we spent the 1st 20 minutes finding a place that you could actually hear the cymbals. Note it onlu holds 800 and prob 500 total were there. Hit the balcony about 10 feet from the hanging PA ang we achieved liftoff. Crystal clean sound. The 1st set we were just getting our feet under us. At setbreaj we went outside to the smoking area deck. It overlooks the baseball stadium. Watched 20 minutes of baseball and headed back in. The security guard next to me said he was tired of telling people to quit smoking weed and had given up. I’m like you do know this is a dead crowd right. He said cops could come in and we are a new venue. I’m like none of that is happening bro. Set 2 starts and we take our spot 10 feet from the PA. 2nd somg comes unbroken chain. Holy shit they took the middle jam and played with that funky dance beat for 8+ minutes. I was drenched keeping that pace. 2nd set was so so good. This Dawes guy sang one of the most beautiful Stella’s I’ve ever heard. He had this angelic voice. Most of the songs were sung by Nicki bluhm and she delivered. Had a blast. Blown away. Besides a hiccup here ang there you wouldn’t have known this band hadn’t been together for a while. We had a great 2 hour drive home post show basking in the light of that performance. I was so in the now I didn’t take 1 pic of Phil lol. The next day I’m like wtf was wrong with you not getting 1 pic of phil.

  4. Fantastic Shaw and Great venue. The rain show a few years back was good but with perfect whether it was amazing! This is why I keep seeing dso after 400+shows. Their interpretation of the dead and Garcia was beyond explanation at the amphitheater! They continued to blow my mind with songs that I don't like and really find out that I do like them. I saw them do day job once in Asbury Park and I hated it when they didit this time I was surprised at how good it was. The Corina into China cat what's a surprise. I never liked karina then a few years back at Black Mountain they did China cat and it was great with a Segway thinking it's going into I know you Rider but they went into Karina and I'm dancing saying but I don't like this song LOL Friday night Karina was really good another surprise was that I never liked and heard quite a few why don't we do it in the road. Friday night do it in road was sung and played with an energy that has me wanting more!!! Melody stir it up etc all great. It was so good to see everybody after a long hiatus. And my wife (Nicole) is starting to dig the music and the love in this microcosm of society we call family. Y'all made her feel very comfortable. Please excuse typos and misspellings I am using voice to text on the phone. I fat thumbs!

  5. A great grouping of tunes, coupled with a polished delivery gave me my best Dark Star Orchestra show ever. So far. I’m pretty sure they’ll send me into a state of deep appreciation some time in the future but for now, that was scrumptious. The Venue, the weather, the set list, and the band made for some great memories. I stopped and visited my new Granddaughter on the ride up. Two months old, had a blast. Saw one of the most beautiful things ever at the show. Down in front, the young girl that stood up, out of her wheelchair, dancing with the man that brought her.

  6. Uh...I got vax cause significant other is going through chemotherapy. Previously we decided not to get it, since disease is deadly to the tune of 80% to old and sick people....just like pretty much all illnesses...and thinking our immune systems would mitigate. I have physics degree and she is director of nursing at long term care facilities. Not exactly uninformed. She became defenseless. So I got vax... I guess when it comes to natural processes like climate which humans are allegedly harming to some detriment, I am more concerned with natural selection where I know humans are screwing with it. Closer to Darwin than Trump (but thanks for opportunity to get vax) with no Proud Boys in sight. So my significant other, who is not vaxed cannot join in me in pit at Deer Creek for Dead and Co. Even if it was her desire. I would have gotten vax card....not necessarily vax if my live music life required it.
