I'll probably be doing the two Ashville shows. I can't pass up seeing all my friends again.

We all owe Ron a big "Thanks" for all he does for our DSO community. Those few days of darkness should remind us that staying in touch with our friends is so important. Ron told me that the renewal date for the forum's domain name snuck up on him and he appreciates the reminder. I don't know how much it costs to run this forum but in the past there was some method to kick in some funds to help Ron out. Maybe someone can remind us how we can do that. Thank you, Ron. It was a really fun evening starting with dinner with Dino and other friends at the Speakeasy across the street then at the rail for the first set which included the best "Red Rooster" I've heard. It was good to hear Bobby Whitlock's and Clapton's song "Keep on Growing". For second set I went upstairs where I could occasionally sit down to rest my old body. The combined "Dark Star>Drums 'n Space" clocked right at 30 minutes. A beautiful young lady started dancing in the space in front of Chris and me which got me up shaking my bones again. "Wharf Rat" brought on a slow dance while we listen to the story of those less fortunate.....after Saturday Night and Brothers and Sisters, "I got up and wandered Wandered downtown, nowhere to go but just hang around" Outside there was a little band playing on the flatbed truck and folks dancing a bit and a few dogs on leash watching everyone have fun. Chattanooga show should be a retirement show for me. I would like to see more DSO but my body is just getting where it doesn’t have the strength. Just a few years ago I would have done all these Southern shows starting off this fall tour. I’m looking forward to seeing many of my friends next Sunday and dancing to the fine music played by the Best Band in the Land.

Smitty's is diffently a fun bar and small venue. I had lots of good times in that neighborhood.

Rude, You are missing the idea. You don't do the sitting, you organise the business. There are various mothers that don't care to see the show that their spouse is attending. These mothers can be gathered together to take care of the little ones.

Rude, Maybe this is a business you should start. You have good experiance now.

JBL 4350 speakers with added Altec horns. "He built a dedicated listening room within the warehouse of his import-export business, where he stores his large collection of profession reel to reel tape machines and master tapes. He goes to the listening room daily to tinker with his toys. Wilson has to wear hearing aids in order to conduct conversations unless the surroundings are very quiet."

All good thoughts and ideas to ponder over. Discussions could solidify opinions but not bring truly solid answers. Maybe the truth of these questions is different in various lives. Last night with C&K and Sue was another good show...last of my little run of three shows. I danced most of show even though I usually don t have the energy that I did years ago...maybe the friends next to me took a few years off my life and brought back that energy and fun and spark in my ❤️ heart Peace and Love Doc

Wonderful show with a C & K and Sue...interesting venue with lots of outside space along with tents and a large fire pit. I hope to revisit this place for other shows. " Can't find my way home...." was my favorite of the evening. Peace and Love, Doc

Now that's the way it should be. The advertised cost ought to be the actual cost. There should not be extra fees added on for "the right to buy a ticket", "delivery charge", "print it charge" , "walk throgh the venue's door charge", "listen to the music charge", "extra dancing charge" " and now this extra insurance charge to convince you that the ticket we just sold you is not a fake ticket. One late night Rudd asked me how much was the ticket the first time I saw the Grateful Dead. I had to think a bit to remember but told him it was free !...There was no ticket because it was a free show in the Park. Peace and Love, Doc

"Stella Blue" by Holly Bowling on a big grand piano just about ten feet in front of me last night in a small "City Winery" venue. That young lady amaizes me how she can play.

The Jerry Garcia Band was flowing out the open windows when I arrived at work one morning. After getting out of the car I heard the mockingbird on the post overhead sing Jerry's guitar licks over and over several times.

Cornmeal was indeed a favorite band. Travel to see them? Yes, I would, especially in the years that Allie was playing that fast fiddle. I think it was at Scott's wake in Chicago that Chuck and I first heard them. Apparently Cornmeal is now on the shelf or maybe just the back burner for now. A little search revealed they had a couple shows this past spring but nothing on their schedule right now. Peace and Love, Doc

We are very blessed to have DSO like we do in smaller shows. There are so many positive things about our times with DSO. I think back some forty or fifty years ago when we could see bands like the Grateful Dead or the Allman Brothers on Sunday afternoons in the park....and now many of these bands are impossible to enjoy in the big arenas and stadiums. I sometimes wish well for our band, thinking they deserve the fame and fortune of being big time rock and roll stars but then remember that would change their lives and probably be a turn off in the long run.
