is JK old own there playing with Melvin?

I had heard a rumor that could not go into any detail about some bad blood between John K and DSO. I talked with one of Melvin's roadies this afternoon about this rumor. He as well could not go into specifics but he did confirm this. Let's just say that John would have been uncomfortable being here so he declined.

  4. The stream for the webcast for Dead & Company was wonky last night, so another option presented itself.  It was a live stream on facebook from The Sweetwater Music Hall of the Green Leaf Rustlers last night.  I first saw them at Jam in the Sand last January.  It was an excellent show with a great setlist. I did get the recordings for the Dead & Company show which I am listening to tonight.

  5. They officially released this show as a soundboard recording.  At the time, I felt it important not to risk my microphones to the rain.  That is why I did not record it.  I have taken steps so that will not happen again.  Come rain or shine, I will record the shows I attend.  Here is the link to that soundboard recording:  https://www.nugs.net/live-download-of-dark-star-orchestra-red-rocks-amphitheatre-morrison-co-09-08-2019-mp3-flac-or-online-music-streaming/23129.html?cgid=ARTIST-291#sz=12&start=1

  6. Turning on the wayback machine, I remember being a sporty guy who skied and would listen through headphones that came with the walkman plenty of shows while skiing.  There was such a rush as to dance while skiing  while heading down a mountain slope.  This is a memory that I surely do miss.  Thanks for letting me bring it to the surface as we plunge headlong into another winter season.  I believe it was one of things that made the season so unbelievably bearable.  I can't wait to see this film.

stdilbert- hey man, I think I met you Sat night in Madison. Dave introduced me to a taper behind the soundboard and as you are the only taper I saw I am assuming it was you. We also talked after the show as you were breaking down, you told me about your stealth Robert Plant taping? If this was you, I wanted to give you a shout out for your taping service and again say thanks for doing what you do.

Yep.  That was me  that you met.  For the two WI shows,  I was the lone taper for those.  I just posted a link for the Madison show on that thread.  the bump wasn't that bad afterall.  Thanks for you words of praise.  My therapist keeps telling me I need to give myself a pat on the back.  It is hard to do being a perfectionist Virgo and all.

For those playing at home, that's four Dylan songs tonight.  They played Hey Jude.  The crowd was so into singing the end that they almost would let them go on.  Great crowd tonight. Jeff played Jerry's tiger for most of the night.  I believe that he is also planning on playing it at Red Rocks on Sunday's show.  I did record the show tonight.  Give me a few days to put it up on Archive.

It is not the original Tiger but a replica built by Leo Elliott of Scarlet Fire Guitars in Dallas.

    Box of Rain

The show was excellent.  I do have to say that I had a strange sense of deja vu  with this recreation.  I had heard them do this particular show before last September at the Vic Theater.  I guess with a show this good why not play it more than once?  Yes, it is that good.
