Set Two Ramble On Rose, Me & My Uncle>Other One> Mexicali>Other One>Wharf Rat, Casey Jones. E: Johnny B. Goode. Filler: Loose Lucy, Tangled Up In Blue. 50th anniversary of this performance from NYC. Big crowd and a plethora of energetic dancers occupied the second floor of the joint. Typical 71 fare, love Mr. Charlie, interesting placement of the Comes A Time, the closing triad a sweeping panoramic of color and spin. Have been hoping to catch the Smokestack and got the stand alone one here, which killed Pig style. After dipping a toe in the water for a pair in the second, Other One realizes full power, slowed temporarily by the Mexicali. By the Casey things had cleared out, we had an amazing group left on the dance floor that gobbled new found real estate. Exceptional filler, Jeff really nails Tangled and thought of Tea several times during that one. Great fun. On to St Petersburg. Praise DSO.

My last of 2021 “OMSN” touring. Caught 7 Fri-Sat shows this year in 6 states. Not quite my 20 show average but heading in right direction. Enjoyed Fri night much more as venue was not sold to “Astroworld” density as Saturday. Older head I danced next to Friday called 50 yr Felt Forum show and he nailed it! Met several people Saturday that came to show breaking their 2 yr Covid hermit lifestyle. Even with no vax or test required, I guess even cowering Floridians darkness has to give. Talking to Cotter before show…he was shoe horned between bars as far back as you can get…could not see or hear the band?! WTF. Found that in indoor venue the sound was better space a plenty but no visual of band…danced a lot there as it is more fun as Jerry would put it…”without seeing smashed human bodies”. Have not made it to a Dewey show and since it has been compared to this venue…glad. Smokestack highlight for me in the 71 fast paced set. DSO just never seems to disappoint. Neither do all my rowdy DSO buddies that were in attendance. Even got to chat with Grateful Dean from you tube. Since NYE or west coast runs unlikely for me…C U spring 22!!!

E: Revolution Friday beach night in Fort Lauderdale feels strangely like the Bottle and Cork in Delaware, chopped up venue, tight and full of gawkers. Shakedown Street out of the chute glorious, Black Throated a little extra juice, the first set a workingman's special, still thoroughly enjoyable. Corinna again kills (love that song), the band saved the best for last, the Eyes>UBC>China Doll sequence inspirational. Revolution a cute encore for the venue. Rick, Whit, and I held the fort down upstairs all evening and had security and bartenders dancing throughout the show. We were having too much fun. Rest up and see you on Saturday Night. Praise DSO.

You guys will get to play Bama game 1. Ouchies. Bryce young is a generational QB with maybe the fastest release of any QB on earth literally. It’s probably a 50% shot of another SEC final. Michigan Georgia May be a game but if cincy keeps it within 14 that will be a win for them. Bama running that hurryup with the number 1 draft pick in 2023 at QB gives them so many chances. That auburn game where they refused to block was a wake up call. I’d Metchie has a serious injury it may be a bit closer but 2 1st round receivers and the number 1 overall lock in 2 years is going to be hard to stop. edit: unless Michigan loses then you will likely play Georgia game 1. Bama has the 1 seed. Michigan and Georgia will be the 2/3 in whatever order and cincy the 4. Cincy will prob take the 3 if Michigan loses which is doubtful vs the worst power 5 offense in Iowa

Such a solid show to recreate and such a solid performance. Had a really good time, thank you crew and band. Also thanks to everyone who came to the show, it was nice to see you all again ❤️ The highlights for me was the Scar>touch> Fire and the Dark Star!, wow. can't wait to see what they bring out at the upcoming shows.☀️
