  1. It was indeed an awesome Scarlett / Fire. The Eyes of the World were wide open too. Great show, small crowd that worked for me. Off to Rome tomorrow!
  2. Naw ... you're just Rude! 😁 Aiko Aiko all day!!!
  3. We did OK. Lots of cleaning up and lots of sadness for neighbors to the north. The loss of Chimney Rock, Black Mountain ... the devastation in Asheville ... I'm hoping the band comes around in the Fall to really lift spirits. The Salvage Station could not have survived and the Pisqah Brewery may be washed out too. All that said ... I'm looking forward to my mini road trip. It's not well thought out, but is was not well thought out when I got on the bus almost 50 years ago. I am really looking forwards to shaking my bones Perhaps we'll meet ... Aiko Aiko .... ALL DAY!!!
  4. Another crazy thought here ... I have a companion ticket if I have a companion who wants to fly up there on the 15th and come back on the 24th. I'll check in here tomorrow and see if anybody wants to escape the Carolinas for a week in New York. $150 bucks will carry whoever up and back Just a thought and still would love to know the good hotels, motels or whatever. Aiko Aiko GSP Greenville/Spartanburg, SC Terminal journey duration 1h 59m arrives on LGA New York-LaGuardia, NY Terminal Terminal C
  5. Which hotels, motels and notels are the best in each of these towns? I'll be visiting friends for the first three shows of the tour, but am going off on my own for Rome, Binghamton, Boston and New Haven. I hate just picking a random place if there is "A Place"! Help a brother out with some good intelligence. Aiko Aiko
  6. I went to buy New Haven tickets and they were looking for a code. Can somebody steer me in the right direction? Aiko Aiko
  7. Hey now .... my ticket has found a person! See y'all at the show! What's the best hotel in the neighborhood???
  8. I'll get a room right there so I can miss out on the hiking and driving. The Wharf looks to be self contained.
  9. The SmokeHouse ... best BBQ for miles. I'll have to check it out!
  10. No, I haven't. What is "Mistletoe Jam"?
  11. Thanks Rude .... I'm looking forward to the ride
  12. Looking forward to "The Anthem" in Washington DC on the 21st. I've got an extra ticket, a car and looking to see if anyone in the Asheville, NC / Spartanburg, SC would want to share the ride and a few expenses. Message me! What can anyone tell me about the venue??? Looks like an awesome spot on The Wharf. Should be fun, but anyone with stronger bearings .... what do you know? Aiko Aiko
  13. I'll be driving up from the Spartanburg / Greenville area of South Carolina to catch this one show in DC. I pulled the trigger a little too quickly and will have an extra ticket. Anyone looking for a ride who wants to share some expenses ... give me a shout! Leaving the morning of the show ... Aiko Aiko
  14. Looks like a car pass gets you a spot to park and set up a tent with your car. Driving around doesn't really work. Everyone in the car will need their show pass too and it's different than the day parking. Hope that helps!
  15. Will be there Thursday night ... leaving Monday morning. I planned poorly for Jubilee and this worked out perfectly. Should be a blast.
  16. Well, ends up I couldn't go to the Jubilee with much sorrow. Next year I will plan better and in advance. On a happy note though, I'll be doing the two shows in Pelham, Tennessee just before Jubilee. The venue looks awesome and I can't wait to figure out the space. Now keeping with the theme of the thread; I was disappointed to NOT see a couple of shows at the brewery at Black Mountain, North Carolina. It looks like they're just starting events again after a long reprieve for COVID. I do love that venue and have been to many DSO shows there. I'm hoping, that when they open their doors wide open, DSO will welcome them back to the land of the living and book a couple there. With so many awesome venues in Appalachia, I'd be sure to tag them all as I shed off these cobwebs and get myself back into full swing. It's good to see DSO being so active everywhere. I can name a dozen or so venues within a couple of hundred miles from my home, here in the foothills, where I'd enthusiastically follow the crowd. Anybody have the skinny on The Caverns? Please share your insights ... I'd love to hear about it. See many of you soon. Aiko, Aiko!!!
  17. Hey Now Straw Parking at the venue cost $10.00 cash and $12.00 CC. Parking does not open until 4:45. You can park down the street for free at the Zen Tubing Parking lot and there will be a free shuttle to Salvage Station starting at 5:00. However ... it's only a half mile walk and waiting for the shuttle would take longer than walking. Hey Now Straw Parking at the venue cost $10.00 cash and $12.00 CC. Parking does not open until 4:45. 18. I'm still new to Asheville and wondering where the heart of the town will be next weekend. Any thoughts?
  19. Where and when will the two-day passes be made available for the Salvage Station shows. Inquiring mind wants to know!
  20. Dead Duck FEQ1028 ... try this link for Friday https://www.ticketweb.com/event/an-evening-with-dark-star-salvage-station-outdoor-tickets/11222595 Try this link for Saturday https://www.ticketweb.com/event/an-evening-with-dark-star-salvage-station-outdoor-tickets/11222715 Use DSOAVL as your special code
  21. Tickets in hand ... I saw a mention of two day passes but did not find the link! That said, we're looking forward to a real good time. I live only an hour away but need to find a room for Friday night. Anybody know where the crowd will be? Found a place for $111.00 with tax. Mountaineer Inn 155 Tunnel Road, 28805 Seems casual enough in that the only complaint was people enjoying themselves into the night. Less than 3 miles from the venue.
  22. So ... tickets for sale tomorrow and I've never been to this venue. Can anybody tell me more about the venue. I only live an hour away but have never been here before. Looking to buy early tomorrow and wanted to get a heads up. Thanks .... Captain Zap
  23. Indeed there was a Loose Lucy in the first set. Thank-you for a real good time!
  24. Don't think so ... but you never know. I'm from Landrum and moved there from Raleigh last year. Been to 234 dead shows during the 70's through 90's and a dozen DSO shows over the last decade. Now retired and wore out from COVID. Black Mountain shows and the Ohio shows have been my favorites. Living only 2 hours from Columbia makes it a must do show. My name is Bill and I usually hang out with whoever is doing the most dancing. Send that pre-show info and hope to see you too.
  25. Thinking about going and haven't bought tickets quite yet. Seems to me that this POD deal will leave some people holding some extras. More than happy to pay my share. As far as a room, there too, I'm hoping to be unfit for driving by the time the show is over. We have a gentle hound who goes everywhere with us and shares our rooms without incident. Might just have the Mrs. drive home since she tends to keep her senses when I let my hair down. Its up in the air and Saturday would be our day. Anybody with a couple of tickets and/or a room booked that accepts hounds ... let me know. Might help me figure out how we're going to work this out. Aiko Aiko
