They musta come out rockin’ and letting the crowd know that they were in for a real good time with Jack Straw/Tangled opener. Also, Terrapin/low Spark musta been surreal.

Did you hear the one about......?
Greg from Chestertown replied to Greg from Chestertown's topic in Comedy Central
Little red riding hood is walking through the woods when the big, bad wolf jumps out from behind a tree. He tells her, ‘ I am going to cut you up in little pieces’. Little red riding hood says,’no, you’re not. Your going to take me to grandmothers house and tie me up and eat me just like the book says!’ -
You might be a Deadhead if.....

After all these years and different fashion styles, I have only worn bootleg jeans. -
I had it explained to me that the number of new cases per day falls off, number of people vaccinated rises, the virus loses it’s habitat to exist in and literally just goes away.

Summer tour announcement coming soon?
Greg from Chestertown replied to Dead duck's topic in Tour Information Hub
I heard on Sunday that they are playing Fenwick Island, De. On July 28th. A little lower and slower , Delaware. AKA, LSD. -
After all these years, somewhere around a hundred shows, Grateful Dead, Dark Star Orchestra, Jerry Band, the Dead, Phil and friends, Furthur, Dead and Company, I was still able to have five first time ever listenings of tunes. Why don’t we do it in the road Strange man Reuben and Cherise Unbroken Chain Mission in the rain.

Random thoughts and randomness in general
Greg from Chestertown replied to Rude's topic in Random Thoughts
I feel that it needs to be mentioned, the good fortune and hard work that Rob Eaton has put in to make such a great recovery from his wrist injury. I couldn’t tell. -
Yea, I was just looking at Dead and company tour dates. They want a COVID passport or they’ll move you to another area of their choice. Almost $800 for a VIP ticket and they might move you to behind a concrete pillar in the nosebleed section because your medical paperwork is lacking. No thanks, that’s ok. Besides, I need to vacuum. Praise DSO. praise Bill K, navigator of the year.

Random thoughts and randomness in general
Greg from Chestertown replied to Rude's topic in Random Thoughts
So, I was cutting through town on my way home tonight and I saw they were having a car show. I parked and checked out the cars. There was a VW bus among the vehicles that owners were showing off. I asked the owner ‘so, no Grateful Dead stickers?’ She replied, ‘no, but I did find a Grateful Dead cassette tape in a secret stash spot under the driver’s seat.’ -
I’m screwed with the proof of vaccine shit. I only got one shot as I was advised by an extremely intelligent and highly experienced in the medical profession man to not get the second shot as I have had Covid and it would be totally unnecessary as my natural defenses are high. I would only, possibly, get sick and should not get more vaccine than is necessary. Unfortunately, I don’t have a Covid passport Althea I am fine. ( I’m leaving the spellcheck in, gotta love it)

I thought I was hearing let it grow at the beginning of unbroken chain. There’s some satisfaction. I’m really feeling the afterglow. Apparently, I really needed a show. Not for stressed out reasons but because things have been going well lately. Great show, great day, great people wherever I turned on Sunday. There was a feeling in the air that things are looking up for the band and shows. Everyone was talking about upcoming shows. So glad I made it.

Lisa nailed it, too! Every one in the band was on fire. Not sure how Eaton’s hand feels this morning. I had a ton of fun. Thanks to all who are responsible for that.

Nice set list, sorry I missed some of those tunes. Some of my favorites in that line up. Gotta love a ‘74 China/rider.

Roaring Camp, Felton
Greg from Chestertown replied to Eyeball Jackson's topic in Tour Information Hub
So, with Box A Rain second set closer placement, the show ends with the lyric ‘ such a long time to be gone and a short time to be there.’ Nice. Appropriate as of late. I’m still waiting to catch Lisa singing White Rabbit. I can only imagine, so far. -
It shows the depth of Dark Star Orchestra. There’s a thread all to itself, the 5/08/77 of Dark Star Orchestra. I’ll start it.

I believe that they did a similar horse race couple of songs for the Preakness in Baltimore a few years back.

God Damn! What pandemic? What broken wrist? Praise DSO. They’re back!

That’s a really good first set.

Random thoughts and randomness in general
Greg from Chestertown replied to Rude's topic in Random Thoughts
So, I’m doing my work, spreading mulch at this house in Rock Hall, woman walks by, walking her dog. Asks me ‘are you the guy with the BOXRAIN?’ (My license plate) turns out she started seeing the dead in the sixties, first show in Baltimore. So I was like, ‘oh, you saw Pigpen? ‘ a warm smile and an ‘oh, yea!’ -
They did what you’re talking about on Family Feud last week. Lady walked across stage and Steve Harvey presented her with her diploma, she took a bow, place went nuts!

Looks like a recreation. Original show date? Some Saturday night in the mid seventies?

Well, true confession, I skipped this spring visit by Jerry and the boys to the Spectrum. I was living in Ocean City, New Jersey, putting together Grady White boats. My last show, every song they played, I had seen them play before. I was questioning the need to rack up shows. Rookie move. WMMR and Pierre Robert were covering the start of this show on the radio. I tuned in to catch that. Hearing Midnite Hour start with a thunderous bang, I instantaneously realized that I had totally fucked up and vowed to never make that mistake again. I didn’t, right up until the end. Thing is, the next year, between about eight beers, green world blotter, and the substance shared by the deadheads who pushed their Brokedown VW bus into the parking spot next to ours, which turned out to be Opium, that show was a psychedelic blur. Another mistake which led to me seeing all three nights the next spring. What a long, strange trip it’s been.

That’s hilarious but I meant in physical appearance. -

Does anyone else see the resemblance between Matt Gaetz and Max Headroom, or am I the only one who was alive in the eighties? I gotta ask.
