  1. Caught Genesis in around ‘81? With tower of power horn section. I went with my buddy who was a drummer, into Jazz. He was freaking out! Lowell George died pretty much as soon as I got turned on to Little Feat. Time loves a Hero.
  2. When I was first shown the light, still in training, my roommate from college told me, forget St. Stephen, they’ll never play it. Those three performances slipped under my radar. Mind you, this was pre internet, cellphones. That knowledge stayed so far from me until I was recently educated here on forums. It’s still surreal for me.
  3. It sounds like you provided the explanation for why things are the way they are these days. It’s still not completely profitable yet. Not school night level yet. Looks like we’re still in transition, not out of Covid yet. …. If you go, no one may follow….
  4. Skip on rhythm guitar, that’s cool. Thanks for taking the mystery out of that one for me.
  5. Formerly the warlocks all over again?
  6. I heard they played some VFW in Jersey this past weekend, not sure which exit. Shared the stage with some other band.
  7. I’m partial to the Warfield/Radio City acoustic/electric run. I think they are refocused, reinventing themselves again after Keith and Donna’s departure. Brent is getting settled in. The future was looking bright. No one in the band is worn out , weary from the road, the drugs. They weren’t mainstream yet. Ahh, the good old days. I find it more precious than late eighties when everyone says they were at their best. That’s all, thanks for letting me share.
  8. Makes you wonder if newer, higher fees aren’t based in insurance post Covid. Gouging being passed on?
  9. That song has a special place in my heart also. I won’t bother you with the story as it pales in comparison to your human level, but, yes, that song showed up in my life at a time that I needed it. Heaven sent at a time I was questioning how I was going to get through a situation. That one gets me to stop dancing and just take it in.
  10. What’s old and wrinkled and smells like Ginger ? Fred Astaire’s face.
  11. I was checking that one out this morning. Phil singing, I’m going back to Berkeley, I do believe I’ve had enough.
  12. So, I’m guessing not a first ever but a rare one with she belongs to me. Same thing with Layla. Rare but done before? That’s showstopper stuff for me. DSO strikes again !
  13. It reminded me of somewhat similar thoughts I had this morning. I was thinking about how everyone is hung up on diet these days. They’re all concerned with the food that they put in their mouths but no talk about what the senses are taking in. Not just the music our ears take in, but also the words we hear from others. The sarcastic, hateful talk on our television or from people close by. The violence we witness on television. The smells of a big city, etc. All of this has an effect on our well being. It’s all part of our diet. We gotta watch all that we take in, not just watch out for carbs.
  14. A killer, rocking’ Promised Land Too!
  15. NFA somewhere around good lovin’ . The tunes are creeping back in to my memory.
  16. Better off Dead at the Cult Classic Brewery down on Kent Island. Holy Fuck, I don’t know how I am going to make it through work today. Big RR blues till the morning comes about a six or eight song gap of forgetfulness on my part. candyman Cumberland. china/Ryder BTW Black peter some tune off the first album, drawing a blank. cryptical>TOO>cryptical good lovin’ Bertha Sugar Mags midnite Hour Music never stopped I am forgetting about half the show but it was pretty incredible. High energy, happy crowd.
  17. There’s gotta be something bigger going on here. Last Halloween they did three nights at Fredrick fairgrounds, Maryland. It went so well they came back in the spring. Why can’t that be something we’re looking forward to right now? They’re not even scheduling outdoor shows. Makes you wonder if those drive in shows were financially worth their while for the band. Sure hope I’m wrong and dates get announced. Orchestra withdrawal is the worst.
  18. Isn’t that around the equinox?, the 21st.
  19. We’ve been here before, not too long ago. A little different that time, scheduled shows were postponed then canceled. DSO found a way and they came back, playing to cars in parking lots. It worked, felt good. That evolved into outdoor shows. That’s fine, it’s summertime. Now Covid is evolving (because its still hanging around) , there’s great concern if we are honest with ourselves. It is simultaneously to be feared and respected. It is wise on the band’s part to not have anything scheduled for the fall (yet!) some more outdoors shows would be nice but I understand how they’re not scheduling indoor events yet. We just don’t know. They need and love us as much as we need and love them. They’ll find a way. They haven’t let us down yet. ….seems a common way to go….
  20. I’m kinda concerned about the lack of shows on the horizon. When you think about the work it takes to get a venue booked, lead up time for ticket sales, etc., I get more concerned. It’s not like this Covid shit is easing up and indoor venues are ok. There’s still time and we all have plenty of hope but yikes! I need a show, Especially after reading that set list from the last show.
  21. How ‘bout Billy, Joel?
  22. Damn. I’m genuinely sorry I missed that one. Second set looks hard to handle. It starts out killer and never lets up. I’m wondering, is that the first ‘piece of my heart’? Yea, Lisa is the secret weapon. She’s a natural for channeling Janis. I’m amazed again by Dark Star Orchestra and I wasn’t even there.
  23. HaHa! That’s a typo but fitting. Yes, you were dancing with everything, AKA all you got, but I meant to type ‘everyone’.
  24. Thank you! You can’t deny the LTGTR opener. That’s gotta get things and people moving. I dig the nod to Charlie Watts, excuse me, Mr. Charlie, and the Stones. I’m still waiting for my first Sugar Mags sandwich and my first Visions from DSO. I don’t even know what Mystery train is, gonna have to hit the books to learn about that one. I’m true Grateful fashion, Dark Star Orchestra is not the best at what they do, they’re the only ones who do what they do. Thanks. Happy Birthday North East! I have a short clip of you dancing with everything at Fredrick but lack the technological wherewithal to deliver it to you. Some day, you’ll laugh when you see it.
