Reading these set lists and the reports from those in attendance, what a tour! But, it is too bad that they didn't sprinkle in some Elective Shows. To go throughout Europe and not play: Help>Slip>Frank Estimated>Eyes Scarlet>Fire Lisa singing White Rabbit, or any lead for that matter, Was Lisa even in Europe?

18 song 1st Set! WoW!
-
Hmmmm, no Georgia Dates? Hardly surprised after the Thanksgiving shows last year in Atlanta, Skip actually gave the crowd a homework assignment to all in attendance to bring 4 or 5 friends to the next nights' show!
-
Nope, not I! Stupid responsibilities keep getting in the way!! Hope you all peg out your fun meter!!!

Ahhhh yes! Seen a few late 80s Dead shows at The Frost! Nothing like seeing an afternoon Dead show. The show is over before Dark then you have all night to do, well, whatever it is we do, then repeat the following day. I have not even come close to be at every outdoor venue but The Frost Amp just may be my fav that I have personally been to. I have yet to get my Red Rocks show... Any other contenders?

Thank you Sudds. SOunds like too much fun!! All joking aside, my sister went to this show and she talked to someone who works there blah, blah, blah and she was told DSO sound checked I Fought The Law. How funny / coincidental is that!
-
Good comments Greg from C-Town. Personally I am glad DSO didn't cover anything from The Mac. And I agree with the flow theory etc. WRT "I Fought The Law", I read somewhere that on the limo ride to the show when GD first played it, that song come on over the radio. Then they played it that night as an encore. I don't think IFTL had any longevity potential and was glad to see it dropped.

Uh-oh! Rude said the "J" Word! I didn't think we could mention "JRAD" here? LoL!! I seen JRAD once, and would not mind seeing JRAD again. I think when they play a song, they play it as good as anyone. BUT; their pre-song jams just don't work for me. They will play a killer Bertha, Stranger, or what ever then they break into a 3 - 5 minute jam that just doesn't go anywhere for me and it is a buzzkill. Just my opinion...
-
A band named The Rockets made that song famous in the 80's maybe? It is different than The Band's. If you heard the Rockets sing it, I bet you will recognize it...
-
Thanks Tea. Dark Star > Man Smart? How crazy is that! I wish GD took more chances, or experimented, with various song combos such as this. Imagine China Cat> Cumberland Bluz or maybe Other One > H.C. Sunshine > Morning Dew!
-
So are we talking about Fleetwood Mac's 'Shape I'm In'???? Not a fan of The Mac but I do like that song.
-
Thanks NorthEast. Other than Oversea's Stomp (filler Night #1), did Lisa sing at all or blow some harp / kazoo???
-
A great show from, arguably, one of the finest weeks of GD Shows ever. I am certain DSO did it justice; then Rockin' Pneumonia as a filler? How fun is THAT!!!
-
I have no inside scoop but this is what I do know. DSO played Red Rocks on 5 Jul last year. Looking at the Red Rocks calendar, July 04 and 05 is still open! I have a plug nickel that says DSO will be teeing it up there for a two night run on the 4th & 5th... sounds good anyhow right?

Thanks for the kind review too...

Grateful Dead, 27 April 1971. Beach Boys (minus Brian Wilson) join the boys on stage for a few numbers. This version of "Riot in Cell Block #9' has got to be, in my opinion, 15 minutes of the most annoying, horrid, GD ever! 👎🤢
-
Rude, you made mention in another post about DSO busting Gonesville at some point. When Bobby joined DSO at The Warfield, that would have been EPIC!!!!
-
Frankly Scarlet played an obvious "Love" theme as it was their Valentine's Show. Set I: How Sweet It Is, TLEO, Tore Up, Help>Slip>Foolish Heart, Sugaree, She Belongs To Me, Gimme Some Lovin', NFA. Set II: Good Lovin', Must Have Been The Roses, Cumberland, Black Muddy River, Samson> Drumz> Space> Tear-A-Pin> Lucy SD> Crazy Fingers> He's Gone> Other 1> Truckin'> Love Light. Right or wrong, this place was packed! But everyone still had room to do their own version of a Dead Wiggle. If people were not comfortable being in a room with that many people they were allowed to go elsewhere; I stayed! Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile!

Pat Methany's Pikasso Guitar. I see what you mean Poetry, you can probably really hurt yourself if you're not careful!
-
Instead of a band I just seen, how about a plug for a band I am going to see? Frankly Scarlet, a GD Cover Band playing in Atlanta on 12 Feb at Smith's Olde Bar. Make it if you can!

Love, Love, Love watching Lisa get all animated during Samson...

I don't know what to make of this thread... Night 1 at Warfield, Peter Rowan joins DSO and plays 7 and sings 5 of the 7 tunes of Set I and no one even mentions it. Bob Weir comes out and sings 5 and we are about 50/50 whether he should have come out on stage or not. I have seen the Morning Dew attachment above and it I too think it falls waaay short of how Jeff would sing it, and perhaps Bobby did over stay his invitation. But that is still cool beans that he come out and did what he did, and am glad DSO rolled out the welcome mat for Mr. Weir to do so.

I am thinking the band is pretty stoked to have Bobby, or Donna, or any other band member on stage with them. No, I was not there but I think that'd be a real treat to catch as well. So Bobby played / sang 5 tunes, Shakedown, Cassidy, China>Rider, AM Do. Does anyone else think it is odd that 4 of the 5 tunes are Jerry tunes??? And if you never seen the Atlanta 30 Jun, 2019 version of D&Co SOTM, it's amazing!

T. Stones > Tangled What a great way to mix things up boys; Love It!
-
Be sure to listen to the US Bluz encore; Jerry singing with a GROWL! is a keeper!
