Depressing. I think one of the main problems, and he touches on this, is that too many voters are ignorant of what is actually going on. They get it second hand on talk shows and the like. I suspect there is an ex Democrat staffer that could write a similar report.

Depressing indeed. One likes to think that the representatives in representative government do something other than just compete with one another for public favor. ...but the past few decades tell a different story.
