Never had the pleasure of a DSO Penn's Peak experience, although not from a lack of desire. Family holiday/birthday stuff always made it a non-starter for me. There's no question about how much the band likes playing there, and reports from attendees bear that out. Location and time of year are additional potent ingredients to help make even more magic happen. Interesting - I've heard from others who thought it was excellent. I wasn't there so I won't debate your take on it - everyone has an off night, right?
