7/18 is a strong TIGDH. Saw Alpine & Deer Creek - both awesome for different reasons. I’ll give Deer Creek the the nod since they didn’t decide to go with Scarlet > Women. You can do a Sugar Mags before it, but the Fire is compulsory. End of discussion

I know it will get better eventually but I'm not in a place where fond memories soothe much pain. While we lived hundreds of miles apart, rarely a day went by without us communicating. His brand of wit, hijinks, and bleep talking, was something that was woven into the fabric of my life. That, and pictures and videos of that beautiful, ball-of-energy son of his. To be communicating that frequently and not know that he was in the level of obvious pain meant either I was not paying close attention - or he hid it extremely well. Probably a little of both I'll guess. It's just a gaping hole in my life and right now there's no way to fill it. I'll continue to provide all of the moral support I can as his loved ones pick up the pieces but his loss seems to color the things I think about - it's surprisingly pervasive. I'm not farming for sympathy but I need for these words to pierce the air because bottling them up is decidedly unhealthy for me. Miss you buddy - you were so loved! I wish you would've felt that love in your heart and that it would've been enough for you to veer of the path you followed. I'm still infuriated with you and love you just as strongly ❤️

Aaron is still on my brain. If he saw this, he would weave a conspiratorial tapestry of how embedded Russian operatives have infiltrated the highest levels of government hell bent on world domination and that we all better quickly learn the Russian language. He would also say that he would prefer Putin as his king and that DSO is a shadow puppet for the illuminati. God damn how I miss that man. All the colors I see are drab and merely shades of grey - that's part of what profound sadness looks like through my eyes

Rarely am I at a loss for words - takes everything I have to share much of anything right now. Words of remembrance simply don’t justice to who he was as a friend, a companion, and a vibrant spirit. From the night he stumbled into our campsite, and all the years that followed, he lived life with the throttle down. Piercing eyes with a piercing intellect to match. The joy that DSO brought him was undeniable, unchained, and unbound. He stoked those fires in us and it commanded our full attention. DSO would announce a tour and he planned the full itinerary in about 3 minutes. Where we would be staying, where we could eat, who we could meet up with, what sporting events would coincide with our travels, venue dancing pros/cons, and what recreations might be in the offing. Literally 3 minutes flat. Oh buddy - you were way too loved for it to end here. There were so many worldly tribulations still left unspoken and still unsolved and we tackled so many of them together. Quick with an insult immediately chased with a quick smile. Too smart for your own good methinks. A part of all of us left shattered with little desire to sweep up the pieces because it’s all we have left. Rest easy, Rude - and Rude you were. You thought it, and then you said it - consequences be damned. It’s who you were - beautifully unapologetic. You leave us gutted, searching for meaning in something that will never make sense. Salt of the earth gang - signing off until we meet again some day

I understand being a prisoner of the moment . I also understand recency bias. BUT that Throwing Stones was one for the ages! I got so enthralled by it that I forgot what song they were playing. What was so cool about it was how deliberate they were performing it. It was an amazing contrast. Not missing a single note (and the notes they didn’t play) and then it devolved into this chaotic shredfest, before morphing into a decidedly different song. They played around with this dark theme for a bit - it snaked around and then slammed back all together with one glorious bass-ripping note. So fucking cool 😎 Swiss watch kinda stuff. Smiles for Miles ❤️
