Had a delightful experience the other day. Figured those here would appreciate it. Bought a concert ticket for Del McCoury at the Buskirk Chumley where DSO played an acoustic show a few years back. Best part was when it was all said and done a $55 ticket cost..........$55!!! It was so refreshing. Wish more places could/would do this.
I was curious if that was a “named jam” before the drums. I’m pretty awful at picking those out and determining one from another. Aside from Spanish jam.
Man that 2nd set put a smile on my face that even having to work today hasn’t been able to wipe away. And that’s really saying something. Can’t wait to see what they have planned for us in Indy.
Side note: Every year DSO plays Louisville I (falsely) predict a 4/9/89 recreation. The Louie Louie show. But it seems it’s always original or early 70’s or old school 69er. I’m wondering if the stage is too small for the later year’s drum set up. Either way I’ll likely keep predicting that Louie Louie 😂😆😂
Not sure I have ever been part of a more enthusiastic crowd in my life. Thought the roof was gonna come off during rider. Whole 2nd set was butter. Last two nights have been tremendous. I am a BIG fan of this whole area out here. Can’t wait to see red rocks
The old security dude was a doobie Nazi. I saw him take or stomp multiple and he was on it. He was apologetic and let everyone stay inside the show though and acted as though the venue was facing repercussion if they were as passive in years past. I heard rumors of the undercovers but luckily I didn’t witness any of that jazz.
wonder which bands play what days? Also wondering if we will have more freedom to come and go from the concert area being it’s a jubilee vibe or if you’ll have to commit to staying for the remainder once you decide to enter? Curiosities galore. Can’t wait to get down on the mountain
Egyptian Room which is normally one of the pricier Midwest shows has 4-packs of tix for $60. Not sure if it’s a limited time or number of tix thing but throwing it out there as a heads up.
About 6-7 years ago when my nieces were in to gymnastics I decided to prove “uncle Shaun can do a damn good cartwheel” and I did, also pulled my groin and missed two days of work. 😆😆
Next weekend is Louisville’s little dead fest on the river. No camping which sucks, but Hyryder Friday and Stu Allen is coming in to play with Born Cross Eyed Saturday. But many other bands. Mostly dead stuff.
It’s the bluegrass underground In Tennessee. I saw Del and Dawg down there and it was probably one of my favorite shows. They have moved since to a larger cave where they can get more people in. Haven’t been to the new one yet. But DSO underground would be unreal.
