This venue was fabulous! 15 min drive from the peninsula pf downtown Charleston along the banks of the Cooper River. We took in lovely breezes this time of year with ample space for good visibility. Picnic blankets, cane creek chairs and happy people littered the lawn in front of a fabulous stage. oh where to begin! I took my daughter to her first DSO show, though she has a little deadhead resume seeing the Jerryās birthday celebration at Red Rocks Bob Weir put on and some southern D&Co shows but she really loved the scene that is DSO. We hullabalooād last night! And i t was a real unexpected blast to see Vince and Sue!! The band gave us he psychedelic download and we walked in the transitive nightfall of into diamonds. The Dark Star was so crafted, spinning crystalline sound folding in again and again like orgami. The guy bothering us durimg Lovelight finally got the message we werenāt there to meet him, in the middle of a song!! and rather dance and hear the music. The sweet people up front folded us in and there was a real dance party going on. Nothing to me caps a show like William Tell and the Eleven. No more time to tell how This is the season of what Now is the time of returning With our thought jewels polished and gleaming! When Lauren and I were leaving, a lady stopped us. It was her first of a Grateful Dead kind of show. She said she took in the scene and was figuring out what it was about. She said watching us dance and really express the music made it make sense. Wow! What a compliment. May the golden road bless us all. Mama tried. š¤£

Great show! Touching for Asheville, Box of Rain, Let Me Sing your blues away, and the crowd really cut loose to Music Never Stopped. It was a beautiful thing!! So many changes. Everywhere. Nothing like a good show to reiterate true north. The power or music to bring people together is where it is at. There was a gentleman juggler in the crowd that juggled expertly while I danced to Estimated that was pretty much everything!! The height of fun!! And surely, we all need fun! Fabously spring, Asheville brought sweet breezes as the sun peeked in and out of the clouds, just like familiar faces peeked in and out of the crowd. Thank DSO and crew! A good time had by all. And what Tea said. š

What an easy escapade to Charlotte! The Amp amphitheater opened in fall of 2023 in the planned mixed use area south of Charlotte. After work we drove up through some pretty significant weather. It has been a very rainy May, dumping lots of rainfall at a time, but it didnāt stop the show! Very easy parking. I had dinner outside one of the restaurants and listened to the first set, cooling my heels after a long day of doctoring, avoiding getting drenched, not that it mattered much. But for a while, it was luxury to dine and take in the music. The rain stopped pretty much second set with a light cooling mist every now and then. š We got an upgrade to pit while checking in as a kind man gave us his extra. Astroturf might just be my favorite outdoor ground cover! Funny, I felt most comfortable on the springy fake grass! It gave heavenly cushion, no nasty beer spills to avoid, good footing! Scored all night in the endzone! We had great dancing all around. Iām sure the sound was better on the lawn. I couldnāt hear Barraco as much in the mix where I was. The spirit of a dead show hovered around as St Stephen dropped. That old familiar feeling came knocking. Groovy NFA with very nice percussive moments in first half of NFA and Eaton and Mattson trading licks and pushing the music further in the interplay, clearly delighting Eaton. Truly, the HSF sandwich with all the extra stuffing delivered a meaty, sonically tasty meal. The slipknot fomented in second half, Skip booming deep bass riffs. Yes, may the four winds blow us safely home in this crazy world! Meanwhile, might as well celebrate like a Saturday night- grab the sunshine when you can- smell the roses- and forget the tribulation of the world. US Blues never sounded so right. šš»šŗš»š¹ Excited for Asheville and Charleston. First filler, Donāt Do It. yes, dontcha break my heart.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie! The spirit of shirking off the status quo in the face of creativity is everything! A fascination with the Beatnik movement and how it impacted American culture to normalize the freedoms we inherently should embrace and throw off the prejudices and fear of Puritanical morays made me the person I am. Robert Hunter, the Grateful Dead and others like Dylan fomented this movement and gave its voice. Dylan had his finger on the pulse of it all, voiced it and struggled alone with his genius, I think, trying to reconcile the complexity of our culture and the impact of what he saw, how he was received and where it went from there. Ah, the tortured artistā¦

Happy birthday to you!! Libra is the best sign. Haha š„³šā¤ļø The region from Eastern TN through WNC was just many funnels of 40 trillion tons of water, enough water to cover the ENTIRE state of NC with 3.5 ft of water , the equivalent of 699 days of water flow at Niagara Falls . It was expected for instance one person said that the French Broad would rise 3 ft,; it went to 27 ft. I donāt believe anyone expected how bad it would hit as the system stalled and went further east that expectex. I got power for my birthday!!š„³ so

Phew. Where to start? I just thought I would check in and say we are ok. Pins and Needles as things came online worried about people. Gr8ful Pair is ok. There is catastrophic loss and damage here. Awaiting power to return with 96% loss in my county ; however there are pockets open. Coordinating to run supplies up to Black Mountain and Asheville to help those who have nothing. The need is dire. Grateful for sunshine and cool temps. Send your goodness and vibes our way. If anything is clear, it is that self sufficiency is required in these days and the ability for self reliance essential. Society just without power hangs by threads obvious in the people I saw jamming the fast food/ gas stations trying to get there next meal after power loss.

The Grey Eagle Jazz is Dead 8:10/2024 Oooooo- this was absolute a groove moving time. I just love the way Alphonso Johnson lays down a strong funky bass line. Just scrumptious. And heād go REAL deep with those notes. Pretty wild heās a founding member of Jazz is Dead and was in Weather Report Suite, playing with Wayne Shorter- if you havenāt seen that biopic of Shorterās I recommend it. I rode rail first set and the whole hall was soooo quiet when they were playing- hardly a whisper!!! Savored. Kimockās amp was turnt up and a little too much for sustained proximity. Second set- the booze kicked in and loosened audience tongues- bleh. But overall better than most crowds!! (Alcohol is evil unless it is a beautiful a work of art like Veuve Clicquot; wow, the story behind that one!! Barbe- Nicole Clicquot was a bad ass!! ) My first love is dancing forever and always; last night I shook off the grind of work and felt free. And that is priceless. such weird times Heavy energies around. Kimockās guitar sound was quite lovely and created serene places, delicately and thoughtfully sketched out. He actually smiled some! Glad I made the trip up and back home . Nice dinner with shellfish beignets that were to die for!!! Show was about 3 hours long. Box Playin Lost Saint Terrapin Suite! HSF Stella Bertha What sounded like Fame to me-> MNS -> Fame.
