  1. I got to wondering today if anyone has every successfully landed a backflip while dancing at a GD or DSO show. I gotta guess at least one person has gotten fired up enough to give it a shot 😀
  2. I was listening to the Stephen King short story "Apt Pupil" today in the work truck, and there were a few passing mentions of a person called "Billy DeLyon" as an acquaintance of the main character. Pretty cool, never noticed it before, wonder if it was an intentional nod. King is a Grateful Dead fan and Jerry loved King's work.
  3. Saw Deep Banana Blackout and Kung Fu at the Capitol Theater last night. DBB was joined by Michael Hampton, P Funk guitarist, for the last half of the set. First time seeing Kung Fu, they were very good, really enjoyed their set. Next was DBB, really fun to see them after almost 20 years since the last time. Used to see them all the time when I was younger, really a high energy band. The final set was both bands playing together on stage. It was a relentlessly high energy show, I had a tough time keeping up. Made me appreciate the dynamics of a DSO show, giving you a breather, changing up the feel and tempo, groove etc. It was interesting to see that Michael Hampton was playing an Alembic Furthur, their version of Jerry's Wolf. Pretty cool to actually see one in person, used to covet that guitar when I used to play.
  4. 10/18/74, the best video recording of Morning Dew, from The Grateful Dead Movie, and one of the finest.
  5. 10/2/77, great show all around. Bust out of Casey Jones, super high energy peak to set the stage. Solid first set, killer second set. Phil teases The Other One kickoff a few times and finally atomizes the house with a huge sonic blast. His teases remind me of, if you've ever watched a zoom video of the fractal Mandelbrot set (my profile picture) when you occasionally catch a glimpse of the bulb (the black part) amidst all the color. Then when he finally lays it out, it's like finally seeing the bulb zoomed in in all its glory. Or maybe the teases like seeing Kilroy peeping over the wall. Lol. My thoughts listening to The Other One 🤓🤓
  6. Have you tried deadhead archives for Android? Similar interface to relisten.
  7. They have their instrument tones and song arrangement so just exactly perfect, and really sound like the Grateful Dead. Jeff has the Jerry tone for this song nailed, and Rob and Skip also both have great tone, as always. Looks like a good time. My little two year old just walked up while I was watching this and said "daddy Jerry".
  8. Today in Grateful Dead history 😁 11/8/70 Capitol Theater, great Dark Star.
  9. Oh man, I think it's time to give this one a play, right now 👀👽
  10. Was heading over to post that one, such a good and spooky sounding Dark Star. Reading the reviews from this show is fun, too.
  11. Hahaha, that is a funny review. Something tells me he's using a pseudonym 🤔🤔
  12. Thanks for the heads up, looking forward to the show. Looks like this place has a pretty good capacity, huh? Gonna try to get down early from CT to attempt to beat the traffic, see how that goes.
  13. Anybody have any idea on when DSO is taking the stage? Tried calling the venue, but all they have is some recorded schedule announcement. Looks like there is a Neil Young cover band kicking off the night, who knows how long they will play. Hope for clear skies, supposed to be some peak meteor shower activity this night.
  14. Lots of fun at this show. Highlights for me were He's Gone, The Other One and Comes a Time. Rob was on fire on the keys all night.
  15. Wow, they sound great!
