Well, I’m calling the Hamilton today to get my refund for the cancelled acoustic shows. So sad, heavy heart. I started this ‘thing’ 39 years ago. My second Grateful Dead show (the first one where I was aware, not just in awe.) was acoustic.  I was really looking forward to Dark Star Orchestra acoustic. I’m proud to say I was at their 1,000th show acoustic celebration at the Birchmere. I’ll never forget looking down the edge of the stage and seeing the  singers laying out ‘Attics’ just So beautifully. I made up my mind after seeing the set list from one of their acoustic shows in California a year or two ago, which included ‘makes no difference’ that if they came even somewhere close to home with acoustic that I would be there, no matter what.
I hope and pray, wish, and believe that Dark Star Orchestra will endure through these dark, surreal times. We all need a show. The band needs to dust off those rusty strings just one more time. Persevere on to 3,000 shows and beyond. We are deadicated, loyal and somewhat responsible. We will be there supporting you while you support Our need to shake our bones.
Gotta get back to where you belong,

a little bit harder, just a little bit more...

I remember the Birchmere acoustic show fondly!

The State - a sauna in the summer, a sauna in the winter; I too loved that place. The State was the site of Scott's last show, and it is really hard to believe that was nearly 15 years ago now.

I remember that show very well......grateful to have been there.

Ah the days of multiple nights at

    little State Theater, followed by

    multiple nights at  Rams Head.

Yes, 2007 was a good DSO year.

    Praise DSO.

DSO at the State Theater......ah, the memories.....

My memory escapes me from time to time, but I’m pretty sure that’s a killer set list for ‘93. No duds. Not much excitement for me post Brent/ beginning of the end for Jerry. That’s what’s so cool about what DSO does. They can infuse their energy into a Grateful Dead era that had marginal band energy, breath more life into than it ever had before. I’m sure they nailed it.

Couldn't agree more, Greg! I began to drift off after Brent, but DSO can do those 90's shows some deserved justice!  🙂

  5. Terrific time last night......love the venue! (although the underground parking fees have gotten ridiculous).

Spent the first set in one of the loges, and the second set near the rail......more free to dance upstairs but super fun up front close to the action.

I haven’t talked to Eaton since Buffalo many years ago but if I had a beer with him, I would inquire about the addition of Corrina to the mix.

No judging.  Just curious to get his take on the tune.

I loves me some Corrina DSO-style!

As a former DC resident, I have to agree. 930 club has a great deal going with the Fire Marshall. Routinely oversold.

It's obnoxious.....I rarely go there any more, but I wanted to catch Billy while I still can in a smallish venue.

If there was ever a fire or an attack of any sort at the 9:30 Club, it would be a veritable horror show......getting out of there on a normal night is crazy and not recommended for claustrophobics.

I secured my Billy Strings tix for the 9:30 Club in November.

I saw my first Billy Strings show tonight in DC......very impressed! That man can pick like lightning!

Great energy in the house - which was packed to the gills.

Once I picked my jaw off the floor it was an outta control freight train from start to finish!  That kid has got IT in spades.  Walked outta there on a cloud !

I'm going to see Billy for the first time on Saturday in DC...….pumped!

I saw Angel Olsen last night at the Lincoln Theater in DC (great venue!)

She was outstanding......her new album "All Mirrors" is amazing.
