E: Knockin' on Heaven's Door The dreamy Spring 90 tour rolls on, as the boys try to shed some fans by going North of the border. Did not stop me, and the eggroll business killed in Hamilton, despite foreign currency issues. Victim>Standing covers some new ground, and the band absolutely hammers the pre drums. Middle show of the jaw dropping three night run at the Cap Centre to kick off the Spring 90 tour. I have worn out these recordings and consider this show the top of the three. It's Samba Time, Mystery Reggae Song, Mystery Train, I'll Take A Melody, Cumberland Blues, Masterpiece, Scarlet Begonias>Reuben and Cherise. A fabulous evening with some old friends. Very communal sound from the stage, everyone bringing something to the table. Valerie killed. It's Samba Time is off Melvin solo CD 'Melting Pot', and rocked. Dead selections a welcome surprise. The bass player sang the Masterpiece, and the Cumberland was a hoe down. Fun night. Praise DSO.

Brooks' Birthday. 4 hours of free entertainment in a shoe box bar that felt like your living room. Paul and the boys in fine form throughout and guest keys a welcome texture and boost to vocals. Deep Elem killed. China>Rider>Viola sequence delicious and Dave Jacobson delivered an other worldly DEW, I was unsure the room could hold up under its tidal wave of a final jam. We are lucky in the Baltimore DC area to have nice choices of local Dead music. Next up Rec Room Friday night. Praise DSO.

Well executed Althea, MIDI rich Ramble, a spirited New Speedway on point for the break out, played 30 total times including this one. Second set full of chunky goodness, the Jam into drums interesting, Sugar Mags a certified set closer. Safe travels and enjoy Tempe West Coasters. Praise DSO.

Goode. first We Can Run first Standing on the Moon The first of 73 shows for the boys in 1989, and the first of the closing run at HJK. Opening sequence carried with fresh energy and voices, showing extra care to each play. Quite the contrast between Desolation (11:05) and Don't Ease (3:34). Solid second includes rare post drums He's Gone (10:18) played almost on top of a spirited DEW (12:03), Jerrylicious. Safe travels and enjoy the Show Box West Coasters. Praise DSO.

E; St. Stephen>Midnight Hour. The second of a two night run at Fillmore East. A "Magnificent Seven" show (T.C. keys, Pig percussion) that the band broke in the Workingman's Dead material. Mason's Children was recorded for the album, but left off the final track list. Praise DSO.

Jerry to crowd "When he gets here, we'll be able to play loud and all that. So me and Bobby Ace here are gonna regail ya with some old favorites. The Mason's Children was a monster and Pig killed the GL. Praise DSO.
