  2. Lol, I believe although wasn’t there a tune was played before sototw currently labeled by AC as ? Update…listed on Hyryder FB page as Can’t come down. Only know cause it was first song so on top of their page and I can make it out without having to join FB
  3. For the small production they do a great job with lights…especially at the “trap”. Probably will run up to Bloomington this Friday. Won’t even pretend to be on FB. For every user they claim a book is burned somewhere.

    Football

No fan of Bama but they physically dominated. Inexplicable for Cincinnati not loading box. On offense Cinci had few if any of pass attempts of 20 yds. If plan was to go toe to toe…plan executed, outcome predictable.
  5. X 4 = 92 shows for year which at vip q/a was within the bands desired range.
  6. My last of 2021 “OMSN” touring. Caught 7 Fri-Sat shows this year in 6 states. Not quite my 20 show average but heading in right direction. Enjoyed Fri night much more as venue was not sold to “Astroworld” density as Saturday. Older head I danced next to Friday called 50 yr Felt Forum show and he nailed it! Met several people Saturday that came to show breaking their 2 yr Covid hermit lifestyle. Even with no vax or test required, I guess even cowering Floridians darkness has to give. Talking to Cotter before show…he was shoe horned between bars as far back as you can get…could not see or hear the band?! WTF. Found that in indoor venue the sound was better space a plenty but no visual of band…danced a lot there as it is more fun as Jerry would put it…”without seeing smashed human bodies”. Have not made it to a Dewey show and since it has been compared to this venue…glad. Smokestack highlight for me in the 71 fast paced set. DSO just never seems to disappoint. Neither do all my rowdy DSO buddies that were in attendance. Even got to chat with Grateful Dean from you tube. Since NYE or west coast runs unlikely for me…C U spring 22!!!

I think I took recreational horse meds a couple of times. And took a vax twice from a guy who says borders closed.

  10. Only Friday….definitely in form Sat. Harp on Big Boss Man and usual vocal excellence. Introduced by Barraco…and I couldn’t agree more.…as their secret weapon.

Agreed 15 yds for taunting PG veracity not questioned but there is plenty of anecdotes on all sides supporting any position you want. This so called vaccine does not prevent infection nor spread of it. Results are more like a therapeutic.
  12. Sure was! Sold out pre pandemic indoor bliss. Jeff broke out new guitar...sounded fantastic...something about mammoth tusk inlays...mammoth sound as well. Ain't no maybes...life is sweeter for this.
  13. First show for me at the Cap…how did I miss GD there? Like at my first show at RR the venue competed for my attention. Spent first set at rail taking in band dancing with Jeff and Barraco exceedingly energetic especially Rob on organ with a camera man almost on the bench with him. Second set high up in balcony with great sound and perspective of graphics being projected onto venue walls and ceiling. Also cooler as ushers opened some doors which was definitely needed. only complaint and have said it before is the pulling of set up Lisa mic just before they hit the stage. I guess I should be glad you can’t do same with drum kit or keys lest playing the guessing game before show would be fruitless exercise. Expecting elective on real 11/13 tonight as well.
  14. 11/5/77 Rochester NY My third GD show (5/4/77, Englishtown) Lost in Rochester….bad part of town…asked for directions to war memorial…”you mean where that sing along dance band is playin?” Bingo! Still have entire tickets stub due to glass breaking gate crash caused by idiot venue processes… Still remember Weir gyrations…. 15. Staying local this weekend dealing with mother in law health issues. Port Chester and Ft Lauderdale on my schedule. Hyryder recreating dead shows?….what a nifty idea…did they play it note for note lol. Any skirt playing Donna?
  16. Perhaps yet another Sat night…no commit yet. Am committed to do Port Chester.
  17. This is looking like winner for next DSO adventure 10/18 update….booked!

    Cincy night 2

Was at original…one of my fav GD shows DSO did it justice. All kinds of dance space with many in crowd knowing the show after TLEO. Didnt matter…the boys rocked it…Skip is feeling it! Proximity to Dead & Co show made for rather sparse crowd compared to previous appearances. Good chance Hyryder will out draw them Halloween weekend.
  20. Sounds more traditionally like metaphysics than quantum but indeed that may be just semantics
  21. Doors at 6 show at 7 according to tix website
  22. Wow…sorry I missed this…chalk it up to you can’t make em all. I could feel the ecstatic energy with these posts. Talk about turning the page…Nick was the merch bitch when I bought my first DSO cap. Will miss seeing him. Ellie too.

    Asheville #2

Another great weekend in Asheville. The venue had its own charms like a fast flowing rain swollen river as right boundary. After a little too much too fast night 1, and dancing hard and loose on the rocks on the rail, I chose to enjoy festivities on night two more in the back. Sound was good, and I found a little spot, where the band and the river could rock my soul. Also many passed by I knew, and didn’t, to eat drink and be merry. Seeing all the folks I know is always the highlight. Most times they dance hard stage left. For personal reasons GDTRFB was a welcomed tune. Interesting seeing DSO once a month on a Fri and Sat…Caverns, Chicago, Legend Valley, Louisville, Asheville, and next Cincinnati. Keep it up!
