  1. He shared what he had gotten during the fall Europe tour in 1990 with me at one of the five JGB Wiltern shows in November that year. It was a nice group of people in our row with him and he took care of all of us. Happy birthday Mr. Walton, the world became more interesting planet because on this day.
  2. This was something really special they did inn that BCT run. Weird how I ended up with a soundboard fairly quickly, like by 1985 fall, must have been put out there by some kind power that be, very drippy, trippy show on sbd
  3. So glad everyone made it, what a terrific setlist and nice to hear good field reports , Greg we should all be there for the whole run, right? tonight's going to be even better. Keep us informed and vicariously "there". Beautiful weather today, have a blast !!!
  4. Emmylou Harris has two $15.00 live streams coming up for her winery benefit shows in Nashville on November 9th and 10th. I really want to see these , however, I'm committed to teaching classes both these nights. The Red Dirt Boys will be backing her. If it's anything like her Atlanta show last November have some Kleenex close by. Emotional on many levels. I'm glad she's going to have a live audience there also. She thrives on connecting with a live audience. Do yourself a flavor and make Monday and Tuesday nights something spectacular. I include Emmylou here in DSO world because as much as Jerry was like my father, brother, best friend; Emmylou is very similar to me as Jerry was. And I know forum folks here have good musical taste.😎⚡🎶
  5. Just listened to that space > Fantasy last night. It was a cold stormy summer tour in 85, you're right in that the current times merit some of the dark, dank and demonstrative glidings that came out of 85
  6. Not keeping lists because all of their show stream on their Facebook page. I remember: 7pm start, although listed as 7:30 Jack Straw Sugaree Greatest Story Breadbox Little red Rooster BE Women Corrina > Shakedown (combo look familiar?) Catfish John Chinatown Shuffle Chinacat > Hyryder> Victim> Dark Star> Wharf rat > Dark star > Viola Lee Blues Unbroken Chain> Estimated > Other One Ride Mighty High > Easy Wind A brisk 45 degrees on the river which is probably why they started early. The metal detector wasn't plug in as we entered, my flask of rum made it in. Talk to a head who was 11 years old and at the 1985 riverbend show! He still remembers the rain storm.
  7. The blue section makes it look like Dead stadium shows, so far removed from the rail. Gotta get what you can tho and it should be a fun circus
  8. Placid 83
  9. Just the show I was thinking of, ya beat me to it BillK. These frost shows were some of the first soundboards I got
  10. Dark Star > Death Don't, Easy Wind... Wow, what a way to go into a set break. I'm sure it fired up some good cheer
  11. The Mousetrap Friday October, Bobby's Birthday, the 16th just added to Hyryder's schedule. This one will require show reporting help as I'm heading down to the gulf coast for a week in the ocean.
  12. Okay midwesterners, Hyryder just announced October 24th at Riverfront Live. Hope everyone can make it. As Rude pointed out, they play through the full concert PA system. Don't wait for the setlist to be posted.
  13. Starting October 17th masks will no longer be a mandate in Indiana and starting the weekend of 10/30 restaurants and clubs can operate at full capacity. MC, in 2016, you got in a Hyryder show at Stanley's after the Dark Star show at the Taft here in Cincinnati. I was impressed that you were still rockin for more that night! That's deadication and good health
  14. Hyryder at The Mousetrap, Indianapolis 9/26/2020 #1 After Midnight >2nd that Emotion, Sitting Here in Limbo, El Paso >Rosa Lee McFall, Tom Thumbs Blues, When Push Comes to Shove, Struggling Man, Catfish John, Tastebud, Day Job, Birdsong. #2 Sugar Magnolia >Scarlet Begonias >My Brother Esau, Promontory Rider>Wang Dang Doodle >Terrapin >Cumberland Blues, Roadrunner, You Never Can Tell> 0+0>Sunshine Daydream! 8-11:45, 30 minute set break. Sound checked: Let the Good times Roll and Mama Tried.
  15. Opened the show with a smokin After Midnight > Second That Emotion! Lots of JGB...sitting here in limbo, struggling man, closed the first with a monster Birdsong. Second set opener was a Sugar>Scarlet (raged like it was going to be a Fire)then wrapped up Begonias and played a top notch rendition of My Brother Esau, a Promontory Hyryder show up. Terrapin was big because they were playing right under the moon, shining brightly, holding away despair. Once the Station was completed they started a wang dang doodle from the ground up, El Paso > Cumberland Blues, they remembered to close the whole show out with Sunshine Daydream. There was a Catfish John in there along with Tom Thumb Blues. I'm really wondering where and when the next show is going to happen?
  16. https://archive.org/details/gd1983-09-11.125609.mtx.dusborne.flac16 I've been waiting to post this show. It's one of my all time favorites. I listened to the tape of this show while at summer school at Arizona State University, especially the first set then. Apparently during the second set, because of a light rain, a rainbow appeared during Morning Dew. As I've posted before, the wang dang doodle is one of my favorite segues ever. My first shows were red Rocks right before this musical adventure. That last night at RR, as everyone was walking the lot to their cars, there was a soft chant going on "ssssaaannnta fe, ssssaannnta fe", over and over. I didn't know what was going on back then, but looking back now I realize it was tour heads going down there for the final show of this run and magic was being conjured up Gotta love those midset Hell in a Buckets, esp 83 buckets, this show is gold at every turn, they must've had nothing but love in Santa fe
  17. Too pricey for me plus it's in the middle of the week which means taking a whole week considering travel, unless flying, then it ends up being $500.00. Nice for those in the area and others who have unlimited entertainment $$$. However, this is a start, let it roll...probably going to be unbelievably good weather 🙂⚡⚡🌀 and we know the music and people there will be outstanding
  18. Any reports from basement dance party #4?
  19. Set #1 Alabama Getaway > Promised Land. New Speedway Boogie... set the stage, nice open parking lot with plenty of room to dance and move around, beautiful night out, really enjoyed meeting new friends, Poetry Girl and Rude (again). Lots of dead to the core fans in Indy with Hyryder playing so often. There was a wedding party that showed up and thr band played TLEO for the couple's song with them out in front arms around each other.
  20. That's a damn good looking setlist and a very generous review.
  21. Ok, we're all chomping at the bit, what went down? As shallow as it my seem to those on the front line. I enjoy coming this forum and reading up on pertinent info, and the good humor we have here. I'm a lazy fuck as pointed out by others here. I'm guessing those that were there are keeping it for those that were there. Understandable, you make the effort you get the goods.
  22. People purchase a table that had 4 seats and has lines around it. When you walk away to go to the bathroom or get a drink, mask up. They checked temps going in. Not to be missed as the band played through the riverfront live huge pa system, it was crystal and loud, a good clear loud. The interplay between lead guitar, Charlie, and keyboard was intriguing, they followed each other, then joined, then off on their own. At times it was so nicely meshed I couldn't tell if it was guitar or keys, then they separated.
  23. I tell you what, the weather this past weekend for the Hyryder show on the river was unbelievable, the wind breezing in and the cloud formations made for a truly hallucinatory sunset. I am soooooo into the upcoming indy show this Saturday. Hyryder has some magic they're weaving, ended the first set with I need a miracle end of song blues jam going into a down and dirty wang dang doodle. They opened quite a few portals throughout the night. Two big delicious sets and couldn't have been a nicer crowd. Black Peter in the middle of the first set said it all..."go run and see, run, run and seeeeee..." THANK YOU FOR THE INTRODUCTION/ INDOCTRINATION !!!!!⚡⚡
