Europe 74 DSO style 9/22-26/2024
Masons Child replied to Nolongerhere's topic in Tour Information Hub
We our bringing Rick jr. to the outdoor show in Denver. The whole family. No babysitter. A certain guy that plays for these guys made it seem like he'd like that happen. Mish is for mom and dad. Vail may or may not even happen. Denver is all family. Boulder just isn't a great spot for kids. We'll go but come right home after show. Babysitter but no overnight sitter. Fairly balanced Colorado run. Europe will be just me and my beautiful lady. Kids can't miss show and we need time to remember us and our passion for each other and love. Jubilee is same deal as last year with hopefully a little more grace. Really not sure what else we catch this year. I can't even say the Greek is a definite. But hopeful. I feel like the peak is probably a sure thing. -

I don't think rude and I need to work anything out. We just break each others balls here on line. I got massive love for that dude. Travelled from to show to show with him at times. He will tell you I helped him figure some stuff out and I'll tell you he always tried to be there for me and has had some degrees of success. Sometimes I'm still trying to catch her. Kids change you we both accept that and understand that. I choose to believe that the scene depending on the venue is family friendly. My kids could never get lost at jubilee even if they successfully ran away. My community would identify they were with us and find us looking for them and be the four winds that blow them safely home. So many of you would step up and defend them if someone tried to put them in danger. Do I think rude is full of crap that his kid couldn't handle a show. Absolutely I don't think he could handle the show with his kid. He clearly states this is an escape for him. For me, it's more a way of life it's where I find myself and ground myself. Sharing those times with my kids is really important. Sometimes I fail to be there while I'm being honest to the point of recklessness. Seeing Delilah dance to the dead is one of my biggest joys in life. By the way I lied I know rude could handle the show with his kid. He's a great dad. I'm sure of it and he would sacrifice his experience for his kids. He just has to be willing to take that step. And girls run wild too. At skull and roses one year Delilah takes off running. She hates peeing in port of potties and I chase her and she keeps running further away. Finally she pulls up her dress and pees right in front of a vendor booth. Sometimes the kids enjoy it and sometimes they are a drag but either way we spending time together. I don't see anything more important than that. I could tour straight for 10 years and either end up dead or broke. My dad was one hell of provider. However he escaped every night after work into a bottle of scotch. He didn't spend much time with me. I have some early memories but those memories became fewer and further between. My mom tried to make up for that but kids need their dads not just their dads money. My mom even came to the first set of a dark star show. She said she liked the music just didn't understand why we had to do so much drugs. rude I got nothing but respect and love for you brother. We're I grew up if I didn't bust your balls you weren't my friend. -

I used to see a lot more shows too. But I'm not abandoning my children by going to the Europe shows. My kids are coming to Hawai’i. We doing a 10 day vacation there. Kids at shows can be tough that's real and honest. It a big sacrifice to give up your escapism and selfishness and allow your kids to be in that space with you. To see your joy but also know that they still come first. You'll leave early. You'll go for that walk. We bring a babysitter to some of these shows cause I won't totally give up my selfishness. -

That last comment was the expected one. By the way, Omaha was the first place I laid eyes on Whitney. Definitely a special place. -

Truth be told I don't go to shows to scope out chicks. And I'm taking Whitney to the stones be chicks like that all over. Dime a dozen. and no one can do them all. -

Do know what I knew I could count on? When DSO made this announcement, Rude would have something to say but have no actual interest in going. They play London on my birthday. Sure beats Omaha. -
We leave for Hawai’i on Tuesday morning.

So the doctor asked us what music we listen when Delilah was born. Whitney said Grateful Dead. Doc put on a spotty or some kind of mix based off the Grateful Dead. Delilah was born while morning dew was playing.

We will see if they overpaid. Running backs have to fight for every penny much more so than most of the other positions. Saquan is gonna get us over 1500 scrimmage yards and 12 scores this year. We won't feel we overpaid in year 1. I'm predicting over 200 scrimmage yards in first game against Giants.
-
I love the Saquan pick up for my Birds.

We caught the alligators and shakedown last night at so many roads. Shakedown is a solid solid local dead band. The alligator are loud and obnoxious just like pig music should be but lack the overall chemistry and depth of shakedown.

A babysitter and a nanny are two way different things. So what you're saying is you had a nanny for hyryder? We are staying 10 days in Hawaii making it a family vacation. We will be dipping lil Ricky's feet in that ocean.
-
I hope you not implying we do. We have a grandma that jumped all over coming to Hawaii with us if we footed most of the bill. It's okay to say you don't have the money but nanny isn't required and the insinuation is insulting to Whitney sfo has been up most of the night the last two nights. Who watch your kid while you were at hyryder?

I'm thinking of doing Asheville and Wilmington. Whitney wants to show the baby off to the her Illinois friends. Those places are outdoors and we could bring the kids. Have sober family time and keep those damn head phones on the little one. Then just camp in NC and TN before heading to Jubilee. But we will see. I just saw the announcement and have to run it by whitney

Local shows are great but DSO has been giving us some serious destination shows lately. Europe. Jackson Hole. Hawaii. The Greek. Red Rocks. Plus some great festivals. Jubilee Skull and roses etc. I never really loved the National. Oversold. Ass to nuts. Not surprised the band has moved on a bit. You used to get Pocahontas in Va but the police wouldn't leave us alone. They still do DC fairly regular and I haven't been but I hear the new venue there is awesome. 930 club was ass to nuts too.

DSO played liberty after I got out of lock up. Asheville show. I balled. There was that wharf rat at jubilee. The Stella at penns. DSO and this music has brought me to my knees several times. Booked a kick ass Airbnb for this one. Giddy up

Flights booked. Tickets secured. Some around here might say giddy up.
-
I've seen a few DSO operators if you go to one of the announced acoustic shows it's almost a guarantee.

I wasn't planning on traveling for anything until Hawaii but this is tempting. -

Synchronicity is real and strange. I listened to the DSO epic allgood visions tonight. Just about the same time Dark Star played visions tonight. Can anyone name the year? Better yet who was there. 1. The artist formerly known as MC.

These posts for my amusement are fun. I'm aware that it's not a competition but conversation. I don't harbor strong feelings against Billy Strings. Guys got talent. But I knew I'd get some forum action on that one.
-
I don't think I can ever rival our boy sunny on that but I got no shows in my near future. It helps pass the time. I'm remember the first time I saw hyryder. They played a DSO after show gig at bar down the street. They was good. I usually don't stay out too late after the show especially when I'm going to the next one or have a longish drive after the show to where I'm sleeping. We stayed the whole time and danced late into the night. I was impressed. I'm still impressed really but I don't like overhype. I could never get into Lebron James cause they crowned him king before he ever played a game. I don't like seeing Billy Strings play bigger venues than DSO. I think he's good but a little overhyped overrated. I know that opinion isn't gonna be shared much on this forum. For instance, I recently listened to Billy do senor and the comments on YouTube were gushing with this is the best version of senor ever. It's like Dylan wrote this song for Billy. I nearly puked in my mouth. Garcia version crushes Billy's. Billy is great don't get me wrong but let's not go crazy. See I need the forums to help me pass the time.

I'm kinda weird Tea. But don't fool yourself into thinking I care too much when I'm drunk posting for my amusement.
