  2. d no sYes several JGB w/ Donna circa late 77….$5 and you could see Jerry from upfront rows with little hassle.

Got to talk with her 1/31/05 (My still fav DSO show). Thanking her for real good times past and present at the time. My hat had no signatures at that point.

I feel like we saw different shows. 🤣😆 We stayed up top for space and sound and hung round in front of the VIP tent. Luke said he liked Friday's show over all 3 from Louisville. I thought that was a little much, but had a great time and didn’t leave disappointed in the least. The Fiddler feels to me like a perfect fit. Boys went back Saturday with friends but I stayed home for BCE in New Albany (basically Louisville) which was in an awesome little outdoor venue.

I too caught BCE at The Enchanted Forest. Cute tree populated outdoor venue in the midst of urban sprawl shared with brewery.

it’s not mayer, it’s Bobby that’s the problem with that ludicrous tempo. Meili sent me a US blues from St. Louis and it was so slow I don’t even know what genre it would be considered. It’s not rock. It could be country?

we saw Phil and friends. If he did arena tours I’m on board. He plays traditional dead tempo not this nonsense style

After Jerry passed and until seriously on board with DSO circa early 2000’s

I totally gravitated towards Phil vs Bobby. Dozens of “and friends” shows and like 3 Ratdogs.

No Dead and Co for me this year. I was one of the 9999 that didn’t come for the show anyway. Only the Shakedown.

So if it’s anyones 1st time at jubilee you need to know 1 thing.

    1. Never leave jubilee with anything that can get you in trouble. Throw your bowls in the trash before you leave. The state troopers have a spotter and they pull over dozens of people a year Monday morning on the interstate. They only pull over festival goers. We see them ransacking peoples cars. We’ve had friends get arrested the day after jubilee. Leave it behind. Don’t be stupid. On a busy interstate, 3 miles down the road a trooper pulls out of the median behind me going the speed limit. Stays on my tail for 5 minutes then veers off—-Spotters at the interstate entrance. Several years we’ve seen 3 cars pulled over going east with cops emptying backpacks at every car. 2019 was the only year I didn’t see this of my 8 years. If they pull you over they are gonna find it. Have your 3 days of fun and freedom and toss it Monday morning.

    cheers

I concur and have witnessed the same. I have left Monday’s consistently at 6 am or so and see them setting up at interstate entrance.

Leaving early and flying solo have helped me avoid the reds and blues.

  9. You will need to add all the entries above for entire list but order will take more work. This is because there is obvious “the night is coming back in itty bitty pieces” syndrome amongst us.

The 6 or so show JGB run had some planning…this reminded more of show at Pagent in St. Lou….JK era where Eaton had last minute travel snafu that required the let’s wing it attitude…they played a fantastic JGB show that I am having equally trouble recalling.

This was just as scintillating…sort of a JGB elective with Box and Hard 2 Handle thrown in.

Was out of campground by 4:45…dry personally but wet gear from storms after the show…so I missed Doc’s escapade but fun times previous to that with all my usual suspects.

Campground in its infancy…nice plot of land with some trees and flat grass field but not manicured fully yet. Shuttle service provided to venue entrance as it was not the 5 min walk but more like almost a mile.

3 shitters provided and I guess it was adequate for relatively sparse campers. Not the jubilee crowd by any stretch. Of course cave venue looks like about 1500 capacity so not surprising.

My last memory is waiting for shuttle with Doc both having similar thoughts…completely spent form fun weekend.

Home now, patching my bones….Jubilee adventure begins in 4 days.
