  1. Good Times Bad Times to close the second set on Sat and While My Guitar Gently Weeps to open the show on Sunday. Wish we had seen you. We were under an easy up all three days, two rows over from Shakedown. These were, hands down, the best I have seen Phish. They came at it with a vengeance, sheer rock and roll. Did you see the tornadoes that hit shakedown on Saturday?

  2. Congratulations Scottie, we've never met but your love and appreciation of Bobby and all the side bands caused me to send you some tapes. Really glad you got to play with the band especially a Sugar Scarlet Fire Women, WOW! Cudos to Dark Star Orchestra for keeping it real and making it happen. That's some serious band/fan connection. Very happy this happened! and yes video would be a great watch

  3. Just got through listening to a Warren Zevon show where he talks about cancelling a show. He said he called Joni Mitchell and asked her her thoughts on cancelling and she replied "ah, no I have never cancelled a show" he then called Tom Waits and got the replied " I never cancel a show", even if I'm sick and have no vocals to which Tom replied just get out there and speak it, but never, never cancel a show. Ticketmaster refunded my ticket costs. At least they held up their part of the deal. Was considering a Saturday afternoon at Buckeye Lake, but not gonna do that now. LLR and really don't want to hear a Minglewood Blues any time soon, already got my dose.

  4. Scarlet Fire, The Redmoor, Cinti, OH

Promised Land>Bertha>Funky Bitch, You Win Again, Big RR, Masterpiece, Loser, Ain't Wasting Time No More, Atlantic City, West LA, Peggy O, Run For The Roses, Blue Sky. (8:10-9:30)

After Midnight>Eleanor>After Midnight,  Black Throated Wind, Althea, Minglewood, Melissa, Tangled Up In Blue, MAMU>River, Scarlet Fire, NFA>GDTRFB>NFA (10-11:30)

Beautiful venue, spacious with levels, plenty of options for where you wanted to dance,  exceptional chef and kind, attentive servers. The house PA is too small to do the music justice.  We got in at 6:45 for dinner and they soundchecked Mama Tried and the after midnight sandy. Good overall delivery. Like Anna said, it was mellow for a dinner show. I like a hard and gritty growl like Jerry sang.. I'd see them again in town, not driving to Lexington or Indy tho

Talked with them afterwards and they were genuine and conscientiousness. They come out of Indy, not Columbus.

  5. That Jude in Oxford stands alone. Did the whole tour except that final long ass haul up to Maine from Rochester, or maybe the thought of the driving tour blues home from Maine. Kicked myself after getting the tapes. They frequently ended a tour with passion and creativity. Brent's all passion for 7/3/88. What a fun year!  Besides I had already sold my last of my Ocus Stanley crystals. Started by driving to Richmond VA to pick up new girlfriend met at Hampton in the spring then drove all the way back up for Minnesota before the Alpine foursome, only time I did SPAC. Weird summer indoor show in Pittsburgh, heavens door outta space was saddening as JGB gave up another one to the beast

  6. That's wrong. He's got this one acoustic album that all native American. His guitarist is top notch. Marty is all class, not to be underrated. I've attended several of his shows that were exceptional. Marty got his start along with Vince Gill playing as a member of The Hot Band backing Emmylou Harris. Give him credit for the class act he provides. He's a true musician through and through for life 'round here...

He's in the class with Del McCoury and we certainly don't dis Del

  7. Back in summer of 1994 as I was trying to put together an emmylou and the Nash ramblers tour. There was no grateful dead hotline so I contacted her management group Monty Hitchcock productions. They sent me two pages of itinerary. They must of thought i was looking to book because the sheets had all kinds of info including prices to contract. $14,000 listed. That was 1994. Post Covid 2022 could be something like $25,000. I don't think we're going to get Mr. Eaton chiming on this, but it didn't change anything when I found out about the pricing back in 1994. I did put together 6 shows from what they mailed me and I was off running and taping. Also found out about a private textile's union show in NC that I was able to get in undercover.

  8. What will you be doing? We're going to the Redmoor in Cincy to see a Columbus band called Scarlet Fire, showtime is 6:00 and they have a decent menu so we'll be doing dinner. For you heads in the tristate, the Redmoor is a great venue, long platformed audience with tables in the back and an open dance floor up front by the bands, wide open also, not crammed into a tiny box bar. I've heard good things about this band. Back in 1987 in March on Friday the 13th and Saturday the 14th, we drive to the Wiltern from Laramie for The Jerry Garcia band, we grabbed the large Marquis poster, the glass case wasn't locked!

  9. Long Beach 81 is exactly what I was referring to. 2 yrs in he was hitting his stride hard with everyone. Not in deadbase just know what I've heard, but wonder did they ever open a set with a Brent song? Maybe a hey Pocky way a at Mardi gras show? I can remember exactly where I was at hearing about Jerry but not as clearly as Brent.
