The Grand in Wilmington is a Sunday show. Just saying. I’m there.

Yet, we all love Lisa.

3/31/18 and 5/26/21 I was in attendance for. Yea, that’s what I thought, just a couple of times a year, more when they first started playing it, just like Jerry and the boys.

Digging the Expressway. Any stats on last time played?

Coolest thing last night; a couple migrated up the front where I was, one back from the rail. The guy explained to me that the lady he was with was deaf. They wanted to get close to stage so she could feel the vibration of the music. I suggested that she needed to have a balloon to hold to better feel the vibrations. (Saw it on the documentary, long, strange trip.) he thought that was a great idea, explained it to her. A guy standing nearby heard us and walked off, came back in a moment with a balloon for her. Pretty cool, was glad to help.

Playin>Scarlet> Playin, Hhmmm. Interesting.

I was there last year. Basically a stage in a field in a condo complex but better than I am making it out to be. . Gotta get between the speakers to get the best sound. Gotta use GPS to find it.

So, The Shape I’m In, they played it a couple of months ago. Not a bust out but a rare and different tune. Correct? I don’t trust my memory as much as I used to.

Lisa in on vocals on shining star? Or had the fog set in by then?

Absolute crisp perfection, yea, I know the band you’re talking about. Great description. I’m guessing a step above just exactly perfect.

Lovers come and lovers go, but River roll, roll, roll.….
I’ve been all around this world, I could not caution all, I still might warn a few, the sailor gave it least a try, been hiding out, in a rock and roll band….don’t you see? I will not forgive you, if you will not take the chance, gonna get there, I don’t know, you know they’re gonna miss us, the singing man is at his song, never had me such a good time, let the world go by, smile, smile, smile….back where I belong, feels like it might be alright….let the world go by…sleep in The stars….wake up to find out, he’s gone…..

Why don’t we do it in the road.

Ain’t no bread in the bread box.
How sweet it is to be loved by you. Garcia thread drift.

Days between doesn’t count because it starts just like the other songs talked about above.

Truckin’, Let the good times roll, are two that come to mind right away. Shakedown? Sugar Mags, yes. Nice game, it definitely makes you think more about what you’re listening to.

The Italians from Philly went to South Jersey and grew vegetables. Fresh Jersey tomatoes, available in Florida in February.

I’ll have to get that. My 34 year old cassette of that show, recorded off the dead hour on the radio. Should be an upgrade.

Caught the show last night in Philly. I’m quite blown away. Bobby was as good as he’s ever been. When he belted out the ‘wish I was a headlight’ line, I gots chills. Pretty good job of channel Jerry. Similar feeling during days between and Brokedown encore. (Called that one) I also noticed that the never went into Franklin’s after Help/Slip. I didn’t say anything to my new found friends for the day. But spent the meat of the second set just waiting for them to get back to Franklin’s. Mayer sure can play and does a great job with the tunes. I had to remind myself to slow down to meet the pace that they play at in the beginning but overall, it worked out. Jay Lane filled in for Kreutzman. Lot scene was pretty good. Had that Sunday show feel, for sure. Made it into the stadium, across the field, found my seat, sit in it and look up to see Bixby a few yards in front of me. That’s a snapshot of the kind of fun that was had by me. My 42nd year of going to South Philly to catch a show, hallowed ground there. Bobby left it all out there on the stage, I think. Fitting second set tail end with Franklin’s for Philly. Classic Brokedown encore. Rocking’ Brown eyed women. Cumberland was taken to a new place by the band. Beautiful women everywhere, thank you, Ladies. Spun and danced all night long. Yes, even through drums. Saw one guy with his hands in his pockets, blew me away.

I’m still blurry on Tuesday morning but didn’t Lisa have another tune, I forget the name of it, early on in the first set? That’s when the rain started. The harder it rained, the harder she sung, kept ramping it up to meet the rain. I was near the stage and everyone just kept grooving as if it was pouring down but not a drop on me. It could be a dream we dreamed but I am remembering the other one in there with Dark Star. The transition back into Dark Star was just exactly perfect. Finally caught my first ‘piece of my heart’ . Lisa does a fantastic job channeling Janis, along with channeling Donna. A star in her own right. I had as much fun as any other Dark Star show I have ever been to. The band is as dialed in as ever. Other players stepped in and covered for Eaton who was unable to sing. The opportunity in that gave us a great and interesting show. Great friends, a great time. Still blurry on Tuesday and I don’t mind.

I got an email from the venue today that describes parking as a nightmare. Any body have any insight to the situation?

They announce at the end of the show. Also, the announcement might be that it’s an elective, a set list that hasn’t been done before.

I need to lose my Penn’s Peak Cherry. I think this year may be it.
