  1. Coolest thing last night; a couple migrated up the front where I was, one  back from the rail. The guy explained to me that the lady he was with was deaf. They wanted to get close to stage so she could feel the vibration of the music. I suggested that she needed to have a balloon to hold to better feel the vibrations. (Saw it on the documentary, long, strange trip.) he thought that was a great idea, explained it to her. A guy standing nearby heard us and walked off, came back in a moment with a balloon for her. Pretty cool, was glad to help.

  2. Lovers come and lovers go, but River roll, roll, roll.….

I’ve been all around this world, I could not caution all, I still might warn a few, the sailor gave it least a try,  been hiding out, in a rock and roll band….don’t you see? I will not forgive you, if you will not take the chance, gonna get there, I don’t know, you know they’re gonna miss us, the singing man is at his song, never had me such a good time, let the world go by, smile, smile, smile….back where I belong, feels like it might be alright….let the world go by…sleep in The stars….wake up to find out, he’s gone…..

  3. Caught the show last night in Philly. I’m quite blown away. Bobby was as good as he’s ever been. When he belted out the ‘wish I was a headlight’ line, I gots chills. Pretty good job of channel Jerry. Similar feeling during days between and Brokedown encore. (Called that one) I also noticed that the never went into Franklin’s after Help/Slip. I didn’t  say anything to my new found friends for the day. But spent the meat of the second set just waiting for them to get back to Franklin’s. Mayer sure can play and does a great job with the tunes. I had to remind myself to slow down to meet the pace that they play at in the beginning but overall, it worked out. Jay Lane filled in for Kreutzman. Lot scene was pretty good. Had that Sunday show feel, for sure. Made it into the stadium, across the field, found my seat, sit in it and look up to see Bixby a few yards in front of me. That’s a snapshot of the kind of fun that was had by me. My 42nd year of going to South Philly to catch a show, hallowed ground there. Bobby left it all out there on the stage, I think. Fitting second set tail end with Franklin’s for Philly. Classic Brokedown encore. Rocking’ Brown eyed women. Cumberland was taken to a new place by the band. Beautiful women everywhere, thank you, Ladies. Spun and danced all night long. Yes, even through drums. Saw one guy with his hands in his pockets, blew me away.

  4. I’m still blurry on Tuesday morning but didn’t Lisa have another tune, I forget the name of it, early on in the first set? That’s when the rain started. The harder it rained, the harder she sung, kept ramping it up to meet the rain. I was near the stage and everyone just kept grooving as if it was pouring down but not a drop on me. It could be a dream we dreamed but I am remembering the other one in there with Dark Star. The transition back into Dark Star was just exactly perfect. Finally caught my first ‘piece of my heart’ . Lisa does a fantastic job channeling Janis, along with channeling Donna. A star in her own right. I had as much fun as any other Dark Star show I have ever been to. The band is as dialed in as ever. Other players stepped in and covered for Eaton who was unable to sing. The opportunity in that gave us a great and interesting show. Great friends, a great time. Still blurry on Tuesday and I don’t mind.
