After recently driving through and all around Asheville, I can't even imagine what everyone is going through. Those mountain roads are tenuous to say the least, rebuilding is going to be extremely difficult and may take years which the media will not show. I was just in Iowa City and they are still recovering from the floods that devastated that area like 10 years ago. Keep us updated. Love you all and want all the attention you can get so the resources get there. People think it's done when there's no media on it. Iowa City was under water years after but I didn't know that until I saw a PBS special on it. Calling all cars there's a real tragedy going on here.

Brought the diving head first into the next base. We got a statue in front of the ballpark of him hovering head first, a few inches off the ground heading a base. I grew up going the big red machine in the early 70' and I can tell you everyone here loved him along with Johnny Bench, Joe Morgan, Tony Perez and Dave Conception. Sorry he's gone, he'd been trying to make peace the last 10 years and always had something positive about baseball and winning. Damn shame the number one hitter didn't make the hall of fame. It would have meant the world to him and all us in Cincinnati. RIP, he's running the bases of pure gold. I have a world series game program, $1.00 where my dad penciled in each stat.in the nine inning game bracket for every up bat. He did me right taking me to all those games. Anybody else want to chime in a Cincinnati icon?

Random thoughts and randomness in general

Rescue Me ~ Great work by Denis Leary that does justice to the NYFD in remembrance of the victims of 9/11. Fortunately DL did his stand up act in Cincy leading up to his HBO special "No Cure for Cancer" gig in NYC. We sneaked in a VHS recorder and captured this show at Sycamore Gardens. It's a little more off colour than the polished HBO version of the gig. Mr. Leary, unfortunately, doesn't do stand up anymore. This was back in the 90's right after the movie Judgement Night. Love me some Leary π±π· -

We stayed at the B/W in Anderson for Phish. Glad you made it. I've heard nothing but good vibes from folks each year at the next show after Lazy. I've got a connect in Kokomo that's opening up his house as a place to stay after the free show on Sept 21st. Anna and I will be there and more are welcome.

I've been studying these recent shows, esp with Alphonso Johnson on bass. Glad you got one in and that Kimock is still going for the gold ring deep inside. Another recent show was like 4 songs that was dark star ladenβ‘

Random thoughts and randomness in general
Ammagamalin Crew replied to Rude's topic in Random Thoughts
Going through some boxes looking for my folder of Emmylou stage setlists from 1996-2002 (50-60 to update setlistFM) and came across my first post Jerry setlist. It was a Ratdog show at Bogarts 11/6/98: Easy Answers, Bombs Away, Baby Blue, Young blood, Used to Love Her, Travels Alone, LL Rain, LR Rooster, Sailor>Saint, TOO>drums>Throwing Stones. E: JBG That was my first time back with a GD experience after Robert Hunter's Bogarts show in 1997 and his Newport in Columbus on 11/2/98: Star Baby Gap, Judgement Day, Jack Straw, Box of Rain,Deal, Silvio, Doin' That Rag, AIM AT THE HEART, Cumberland Blues. # 2 Mountains of the Moon, BE Women, Cruel White Water, FOTD>Talkin' Money Tree>Yellow Moon, Gone Fishin', I Come to Sing, Elijah Run, Ruebin & Cherise, Scrap of Midnight. E: Milwaukee Blues, Ripple, Boys in the Barroom. He was kinda pissed at all the drunks singing during Dead songs because he liked to throw in new different lyrics for those that were there to listen to his inspiration. Looking back I remember how thirsty folks were for a Deal and just couldn't hold back their good cheer -
Squirm out of Colorado ~ very good took me to places only Partical has done. Solid drummer, keys, bass and guitar. Small set up under an easy up close to ours, really talented and exceptional delivery, only one cover: Fly Like An Eagle.... time keeps on slipping into the future made it a perfect cover for this band. They did Stanley's Thursday before their all day Friday Deercreek parking lot extravaganza then the after show at the mouse trap from 11-2 on Saturday. Catch them if they're in your area and stay for the whole deal, it becomes something really special by the end

Phish second night of Deercreek after a St Louis start. The lot is killer

In the year of 1968 the world became a better place on July 23rd. Happy belated birthday! Thanks for all the inspiration you swirl, keep on keeping on and: "May God bless and keep you always, may your wishes all come true"

Maymont show states parking sold out; however, there's still tickets available. I wonder where people coming in cars will leave them for the hours of the concert?

It was strange for Melvin's scheduled Sat show when they opened with Dancin in the Streets. Considering it was billed as a JGB show I could think of at least 5 JGB standard openers. The rest of the show was played like a dead show complete with a d/s in the second set, which for me was heard just fine at our primo camp. They seemed more of a dead cover band not even close to the quintessential Jerry Garcia Band shows and I don't like saying this but they have played Sisters and Brothers to the ground. Maybe time has done it's thing to get Dark Star back there. They would easily sell 3000+. Jubilee is great for a music festival, Ledges is incomparable as the best venue in Ohio and would be closer for upstate NY folks. Peeps would be more likely to fly in from the West Coast. Have fun in Europe everyone. My sister leaves for Portugal tomorrow. In another lifetime for me, not the path I led this time around. It's really great that DSO is back to playing a lot of shows! Looking forward to some Midwest in Nov π
