I apologize for the Forums being down. I don't remember taking them offline.  Obviously it was due to the SPAM attack. I didn't count the Spammers that that I banned, it was more than 100. Each one posting 10 to 45 times.

I have memory issues that are a little more serious than a little forgetful.  I think we need to find a new administrator for the Forums.

I LOVE You All!

Thanks so much, Ron.  I'm happy to be an Admin - just PM me and we can hash it out

Tea would do a good job as admisistrator for this forum. He has technical abilities, responsible (except when singing too loud at 2am on the motel balconony at Bear Mountain), intelligent, a young man (compared to us old farts), and the most dedicated person amoung our friends. I am pleased to second the nomination for Ed to take over runing this forum.

Pease and Love,

Doc

I think Ed would do a fantastic job as the next captain of this ship. Thank you so much for all the hours and years you’ve spent dedicated to the DSO community Ron. The forums has been an integral part of my life for many many years now and we have you to thank for that.

The elephant in the room appears two fold:  what are the recurring monthly costs to host the forum, and where does/should that money come from?

Yes good question…let’s make this work for Tea to succeed for the good of the whole

I pay for the annual domain name registration (DSOForums). I pay the fee to host the forums.

I also pay the license fee (billed semi-annually) for the Invision Software. DSO reimburses me for this when i remember to bill them

For the last several years DSO has helped with the overhead when I ask them. I also receive a monthly stipend (paid quarterly).

I also built and host "Starbase" DSO's Setlist database.

I will continue as "Root Administrator" until the end of the year.  If Tea still is willing to take over after he gets a taste of the admin control panel I will always be available to him.

I'm sorry I have not been doing a very good job for some time now.

Taper Ron, I don’t think there’s anyone on these forums, who have been around for a while, that view you as anything less than an icon in our community. Your tireless and under appreciated efforts have brought more people together than anybody I know. Even if the forums transfer successfully, we’d always love to hear from you! We’re beggin to hear from you! ❤️❤️

Thank you Ron for your selfless service for all these years. In any well oiled machine there are always a few hiccups and I have no complaints concerning the job that you have done maintaining this forum. I can only imagine the amount of time and energy it takes to administer the running of the site. Thank you ron!

Ron,  you have done a fantastic job for the 20 years this has been up and running. If anyone has an idea,  I'd love to contribute to some sort of retirement gift.

My love of you, Ron, is more than words than tell.

And I think Ed is the choice by acclamation.

I’m glad to be a part of making a retirement gift happen. It is probably long overdue. We take so much for granted in this life and the magic here can sometimes fit into that category.

Let the words be everyone else’s for now. I love and miss each and every one of you.

I'm pretty sure I met both of you at the Sunset Station Casino in Henderson, NV. 7/28/2001. that was the last show of my first DSO tour it started at the Fillmore. Those shows are etched in my memory.  Days... (Shad-O-Vision) I took a picture of you with your equipment on top of some structure. Bix, I remember talking to you by the soundboard.

Ron & I got caught up - what an amazing man that guy is!

I'm caught up with what I need to know and can do some basic site moderation.  If anyone runs into any issues, has any feedback on things that aren't working, or things that could to be improved upon, please let me know!
