That being said - it was an easy walk from hotel to Whole Foods to stock our kitchenette and sitting area with after show libation and snacks at Hyatt Place. Shuttle from hotel to surrounding areas was free.

The after party scene was lame. You had to make your own. That is ok.

Thanks for the snacks. Sorry we couldn't figure out the lighting. Your efforts were noted.

As it turns out, rush hour in Atlanta goes 24/7.

  2. I think between getting lucky ol sun, don't let go, and tonight's sublime Russian Lullaby these last three days, I think I'mma go ahead and retire early. No chance of it getting better than this. So anyway,... Y'all take care.

  3. Don't let go, fucking thanks so much for that. It coursed thru my veins. Been yearning for that one. Indeed Tanya slayed the Bobby McGee. It was euphoric to the point of giving me full body chills. Sweet! The Maker, well it was a Mona Lisa for me. Speaking of Lisa, she stole my heart with Heart of Me ♥️. Really, really great time here and an excellent venue, great time with  people that make me feel good.

  4. Man that was some F'n fun. I really don't know where to start. From PG calling the opener, to stop that train, to a racious deal set closer.  Harder they come second set opener, mission, AND LUCKY OL SUN (thank you, thank you, thank you) was gorgeous, and TANGLED, nuff said. Just one of the funnest shows I've witnessed in a while. Big crowd but ample space both in the back and in the ADA pit with Rude and his boot. The filler "set" brought the house down. Old school saint Stephen after that show, hahaha get the fuck outta here.

Just wanted to let many of you know how much I miss you.  No need to name the individuals, you all know who you are.

It feels like a curse to love, it is a sword that can be a curse, but it's also a sword that protects, projects the beauty of what it means to be human, what it means to care, to miss, and to want to reconnect.

I hope I can reconnect here soon.  I have plans for it, but even if love is real, plans can still fade.

I heard a voice yesterday I have not heard in a long while.  You made me smile brother.  Despite out differences, I still love you.

I passed through Atlanta for work.  I got to stay with a person I truly admire and respect.  He and his wife fed me, shared with me drinks, I nearly watched him fall in his lake.  10% ipa will do that.

But he reminded me how this music has given me friends that I will always have, love, and cherish.

TR once shared with me the power of these forms.  Being me, I thought I knew what he meant, but being me, I foolishly did not truly understand the depth of his words.

Through laughter, experiences, love, and defeat, I now understand how beautiful it all really is.

How beautiful this place is, how beautiful you all are.

Thank you DSO, thank you TR, and thank you beautiful people for enriching my life!!

Though distant these days, for reasons many of you know about, I am still here and with you all in my heart, and I know many of you feel the same.

We can get off the bus, but the bus still always waits for us to get back on.

With out love in the dream, it will never come true.  Thanks for keeping my dreams alive through all the love and support offered.

Your starheads are most certainly the best of the best, and I am lucky to still have the light shine on even the darkest star!!

    Thank you!!

Brother, the bus is, and always will be, sittin in frontov yo house with the motor runnin. We be waiting. Very patient like.

After our great weekend I hate to disagree but I think it was more like 80% appreciated it. Prob 20% would have preferred this over a 77 but it seemed like most were getting down during it even if they had no clue what was going on.  Hell I think I asked friends 10x are we still in (insert love light, alligator, viola here).

Those jams blew my fuckin top off. 2nd set was 1 song to me-a continuously changing jam of strangeness with a few song words tossed in every once in a while between fast dancy strange jams.

I didn't say only 20% appreciated it, only 20% got the significance of what was happening. And that was a guess with a delta of +/- 7%. Me and sunny some of the only ones dancing upstairs tho. Suited me fine. Fewer obstacles.

  7. To me one of the really cool things about DSO and maybe the reason they're not as mainstream a JRAD or dead co is nights like this.  There were maybe 20% of the people who got what was going on and this was def not a "crowd pleaser" kind of show, but I think  they played it cause they know many of us loyal fans are craving this early stuff, and also I bet it's fun as hell to play. This was the best of all the early music I've heard DSO do. Big boy Pete..... get the fuck outta here, that was some sweet shit!!! Oh I loved every minute of it.

  8. What a killer venue and the staff couldn't have been nicer. It almost seemed like they were happy we were there. As expected DSO takes a ho-hum 90s setlist and turns it to gold. The music 1st closer into HSF 2nd opener was sublime.

Also I wish I could change the post title. It's supposed to say randomness not less. No way to edit title :(

But that would essentially say random thoughts and random. Totally excluding the randomless. I thought the way you titled it made ALL inclusive so no matter what you had to contribute, with or without random, you were welcome on this thread. Oh well guess I was wrong.

    it!...

Really a top ranking jubilee for me in so many ways. At the top of the list is the music! Three just sinister nights of something for every taste in the crowd. Thankfully for me, a healthy dose of early numbers in the 2nd sets of first two nights. Capping it with 5-28-77, shit, nuthin left to say. Except I love the people at jubilee and folks from this forum, you make the time so much more special.

  11. Fortunately my very first DSO show was with Scott on the keys but it would be the only time I got to see him perform live. By all accounts, a helluva good guy and one who played an important role in getting me on board the DSO bus. RIP Scott! You're not forgotten.

  12. Feel blessed to have seen one show with Scott (my first DSO show). His energy and enthusiasm and charm were a big part of my attraction to this band during and after that show. That is a legacy that he left and it has been proudly upheld since. Nice tribute to Scott.
