...Or when you name your pet after a band member or character in a Grateful Dead song. I used to have a couple of Piranhas. I named one ‘me’ and the other one, ‘my uncle’.

My last 2 dogs, Stella and Lucy (may they rest in peace), and my current one Samson.

  3. Damn I love me some Big Boy Pete!! Caught one at the 68 recreation in Norfolk a few years ago and been obsessed with it ever since. Don't think I'd heard the song before then. Looks like y'all got a goodun.

Hey Gr8fulpair - PLEASE tell me this was your  reviewer comment on Archive for 8/26/88 (Tacoma Dome):

Hey JBOYAGUAR, (aka douche bag) there is no bad sex and there are no bad Grateful Dead shows, just varying degrees of great. Take your Websters New World Dictionary, your third grade writing skills and get a life.

    Guilty as charged...

I was a young defensive punk in my 40's then and while I don't recall what he said to set me off, he was prob right about that show cause I was there, and it was rough. Many are familiar with this show as one of their worst, which is a shame cause Santana opened and killed it! They redeemed 2 days later, on my birthday, at Autzen Stadium, with Jimmy Cliff and Robert Cray.

On second thought, I know how you roll, do what you gotta do when you gotta do it... Shit works out....

Remember a 3am Chow down at cosmics place in DC that was more epic for us than the people that made it for us. 😅🤣🥺❤️

  7. A Stephen>Shakedown opener, get the fuck outta here...   🤪. Be assured it was as good as it looks.  While space was available, it was the most full I've seen the Anthem in the 3yrs we've been going. After touch of gray the second set scooped us all up and took us for a ride. Yes, it was a magic carpet Ride, so we could dance barefooted. Good to know you can still get a hot falafel wrap at 4am in DC. I am also intrigued with the late, late night Uber drivers. Special breed. Put this venue on your must see list. It is solid.

  8. Not a single bathroom break song in the whole show! The second set kept building, and building. Surprised we stayed on Earth. Quite the dance frenzy in the balcony, which was lovely. Thanks to everyone for putting off so much energy it made me glow. Love you guys.

Awwww man, a killer show. Pretty full house for dso in Richmond tonight. The balcony was our place and afforded a reasonable amount of dance space. Thank you band and crew for NEVER disappointing!

  10. Rippin tour closer in Charlotte tonight with Melvin and JGB with JK. What this show lacked in breadth, it made up for in music quality. So good to see Melvin still killing it, dude looks the same he did 30yrs ago, LOL! And was awesome to hear John doing eyes and just wore out the deal, ahhh!! Great dance partners made the night just exactly perfect.

I'm looking forward to the days when dso will do multiple night stands in each city. So much travel for the tour head....but I'm excited.

Now you're showing your age bro...😂🤣 Chuck would eat that tour for breakfast.

PS: retaliation for saying I'm old for not knowing about dabs, in which you were correct, but that's not my point....

  13. I wanted to throw a shout to Hardpan for going at it like his plane was going down, and inspiring me, all night. I def would not want to be a step counter in that dude's pocket. Love ya brother! And so glad we were both there with our brothers from the same mother's, including our boy Tea, it was a cool brother communion. Solid gold memories.
