    Night #3

    11/23/1978 - CRAP Centre

Set One: Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo > Franklin's Tower > New Minglewood Blues ; Stagger Lee ; Looks Like Rain ; Tennessee Jed ; Passenger ; Brown Eyed Women ; The Music Never Stopped

Set Two: Samson And Delilah ; Friend Of The Devil ; Dancing In The Street > Terrapin Station > Playing In The Band > Drums > Ollin Arageed Jam > Space > Shakedown Street > Playing In The Band > Around And Around
    Encore: U.S. Blues

    Filler: white rabbit (shorty version)

As high caliber a 3 show run as anybody could ask for. If you look at that setlist above you'll see the dance breaks were LLR and Space, 🥵😅 The execution of the whole event was near flawless in my perception. While I'd still rather be in a spinning dervish of dancers, I am a fan of the drive in concept. Thanks much to the band and crew for their efforts to feed us our fuel!!

Interesting, headyversion has 8/06 and 4/29 in first and second place, respectively. 8/06 had 174 votes to 4/29 at 52 votes. All others were 1971. My vote didn’t register.

I don't even know what the fuck that's supposed to be. You back on the PCP Greg?

  3. Yes, let the people speak. 8-6-71 is a contender, because even if you don't give the nod to 4-29 based on Jerry's work (which you def should), Pig and Phil are so much better in the 4-29 you have to rank it so. My personal opinion is that Jerry's guitar work in that version is the best I've ever heard. It still gives me full body chills after hundreds of listens. Specifically from about 6:00-8:00 is my case. There is a drop from the incredibly high ledge Jerry just took you up to and it's at the 7:20 point. I've not heard another version where he does it that ferocious yet so soothing. Hell if all that don't get the nod, how bout 4/29 being a full minute longer. More Jerry = mo better. I will fight for this show, but not physically or where anybody is mean and hurts somebody's feelings. Let's get a report from Greg.

imagine we're all in a parking lot right now years and years ago waiting to get into the post or maybe we're in a lot up in Maine waiting to get into the speedway,  nothing but miles and miles of intrigue coming up, speculations being drawn up, beers going down,  grill cheese and crystals in each row of cars, someone yells at their dog Cassidy,  looking for a last copy of  duprees, but when they come out on stage reality hits imagination and swirls everyone up and away until it's dark and you're back in the lot again,  having a well deserved brew and looking for your car for the next two hours

    I love you man....

PS: my imagination went to Hampton..

20/06/05  In Dead Nation, The Still, Timonium, MD

Brown-Eyed Women, Sugaree, All Over Now, Jack-a-Roe,

Train to Cry, Truckin'> Big RR Blues.

Box of Rain, Scarlet>Fire, Ramble On Rose

    Good Love>La Bamba>Good Love.

Brothers and Sisters, Ripple, Midnight Moodlight.

Hooray for live music.  Rain devolves a scheduled

outdoor parking lot show into a COVID 19 set up

of the band in the unopen restaurant section of the

bar with the doors opens and the hungry patrons

in the lot outside in the drizzle.  In what felt like a

hallway show, I spent in the evening in the front of

the double door entrance to place.  A group of about

50 all desperately fed the jones one way or another.

Me and Jessica turned that little area in front of the

door into portal 5 at the Cap Centre.  Felt sooooooo

good to dance to live music.  Truckin, Big Railroad

a juicy combo and the Midnight Moodlight shredded.

    Praise DSO.

  6. 🤣love ya AC! I agree with most everything on your list and the others, esp Mitch Hedberg. Didn't know some, I'll check out. Who taught me to laugh? Richard Pryor and Steve Martin. George Carlin and Eddie Murphy. Who do I watch these days, Kat Williams, Sebastian Maniscalco, Tom Segura, Hannibal Burris...couple times a year I'll dial up Chapelle "killing them softly" from DC. A classic.
