  1. I saw Letter to Maria twice as a final encore in PA in NJ last month and it was awesome
  2. Second set beyond highlights were the whole set but both FOTM & Wharf Rat peaked very very strongly wowza Be back tonight 🌝
  3. I live in Wayne, NJ which is the best location in the world for live music!! I see 10 plus jazz/free jazz improvisation shows a month in NYC & Brooklyn. I’m less than a hour from Capital Theatre, 25 minutes from Wellmont Theatre. 2 hours from Kirby Theatre in Wilkes Barre, PA.
  4. Also Phil & Friends on 3/13, 3/15 & 3/16 I’m planning on 3/4 & 3/13. Be signing on for tickets tomorrow AM Have DSO tickets for 3/15, 3/16, 3/22 & 3/23 may add 3/18 Hartford if I can manage the driving:)
  5. Going to 3/15 & 3/16 at Kirby & 3/22 & 3/23 at Wellmont 3/15 on the floor, 3/16 second row mezzanine First row loge at both Wellmont shows
  6. The sound in Red Bank from 7th & 4th row was even better than the sound at Capital Theatre from 1st row loge. All 4 nights the sound was spectacular. No band playing Grateful Dead music *sounds* anywhere as good as DSO.
  7. A step below the 2 previous nights. Those slow tunes in the second set killed all momentum even though FOTD was very good. Best first set performances were Cold Rain, Jed, TMNS, Scarlet & Row Jimmy Let it Grow WAY off what they played at Penn’s Peak. Should be a first set song. The re-entry of the short drums was clunky. Skip’s bass was bombing much stronger on Friday night. Plus I was first row Loge left and usually the sound really kicks from that spot. Was 8th & 4th row floor in Red Bank. Tonight first row Loge right for NYE. Hoping they do the third set primal. We deserve a Dark Star like last year or better yet an Alligator>Caution plus how about a Mason’s Children?? THE MOST undervalued song in the whole canon. H>S>F was good but again with the Travis Bean it did not compare with what they played at Penn’s Peak. Dancin’ was kinda good but me hates S&D. Wharf Rat was good and emotional as always as was A&A but I was finished by then. Then again I’m very spoiled as this was my 13th or 14th DSO show post pandemic
  8. It was even better than the set list. Best non-Dead Half Step EVER best Terrapin I’ve ever seen DSO play and I think I’ve seen 6-7 versions since I started attending the shows in 2018.
  9. As good as a 1984 show could be. BEST non-Dead China>Rider EVAH very good first set. Great second set.
  10. Very good show despite not wanting to hear Low Spark again. I wish they would learn the ending. Plus the drummers don’t nail the fills. It was a big let down out of space. Gimme a classic Dead tune there, please!!! Highlights were Let it Grow, HSF, GDTRFB & One More Saturday Night. Not a great set list but the performances were tremendous for the most part. Great jam out of Lonesome Long Way but I have no idea why they would place that non-Dead song in that prime pre-drums spot. Plus at least Blow Away wasn’t long.
  11. I have 5 shows upcoming and I’m also a bit upset I’ll most likely not get a primal show. 11/22, 11/25 & 12/28 But then I’ve got 12/30 & 12/31 at Capital Theatre so maybe like last year we will get a third set Dark Star 69 suite.
