We're Jamaica bound!

We are very excited to share the news that DSO's Jamaican Jam in the Sand returns January 10-14, 2026 at the all-inclusive Hideaway at Royalton Blue Waters Montego Bay in Trelawny, Jamaica.

 

While we all loved and will miss Jewel Runaway Bay, our home for the past nine Jam In the Sand events, its recent closure has given us the opportunity to move JITS to a new resort which offers an elevated experience for all attendees and musicians.

In past post-event surveys, the most frequently requested improvements have been a 'Nicer Beach,' 'Modern Rooms,' 'Better Food/More Options' and 'Quicker and Easier Transfers to and from the Airport.' Hideaway at Royalton Blue Waters checks all of those boxes and many others.

Sounds like a sweet spot…wonder if this increases attendance numbers a bit and opportunity for those who haven’t been before to get in on it all at same resort location…and yet maintains the intimate vibe…

So there are 3 more rooms at this resort than the last place. However the last place all the rooms were 2 people only rooms. This place has several accommodations that can hold 4 or even 6 people. I don’t know what they will decide to do with the bigger rooms and max accompany but I expect groups of at least 4 maybe 6 to be able to book rooms together. This place allows kids during normal operations so I will have to see how that plays out. We won’t be bringing our kids to stay at the resort either way although have considered bringing grandma to Jamaica along with the kids to a different resort. New place has a water park would def water park it up with my kids during the day if an option. I got sidetracked there though I think the 6 person occupancy rooms assume you putting some kids on a pull out couch. Funny thing is a few times recently the kids have managed to steal the comfy bed in the hotel and I’ve ended up on the pull out couch.
