Roger Waters was too heavy on the radio hits. Did get an enjoyable The Powers That Be from the Radio KAOS album into The Bravery of Being Out of Range. Way up high are the best seats for this in the round production. Very Bloodyband gory. It was a good show,. go run and see.. definitely his last run , just wish he did only solo material. Fortunately no drunken screamers near us

Billy Strings Friday night in Indy. Average show in a super packed Amphitheater where they had the house lights on all through the show. Boo. I'll tell you when he hits it hard; however, this was not the show. For one thing he's bringing on a violin player who has to add his lead to each song. And the violin takes up a pretty big space in the sonic world. All good except we didn't get as much banjo as we used to and Billy Failing is a bango player extraordinare. Dark Star was lingering all around the show, but he didn't make it happen. A lot of people around me were hearing it we were all hoping it would be a night full of diamonds. Also was looking for the HSF. Not to be. Almost seemed like Mr. Apostle mail it in which is not BMFS standards. Just saying. It's all fairly new as he's only 29, so there are years of development ahead. Billy stayed on stage long after the show acknowledging the audience after the house turned on music to stop. He still appreciates the magic of an audience. DSO knows this as well. They've been at it for 24 years. Hoping for some upcoming midwest shows to take my dollar.

Maybe the indoor arenas were evening the score with the stadium Dylan shows in that run?

Wonderland Toronto 6/30/87 Most of the songs had something to do with the border crossing hell people had to go through to get to this show. 1 1/2 hour search of my car. First set Ramble on rose (try to walk the line), think of terror if you give this show a listen. Esp. second set other one (heat came round and busted...)> china doll (just a little nervous from the fall... it all started to make sense to me) and then cheering us all up with a Dear Mr Fantasy (something to make us all happy) I was once again at peace. I had a D5 and knew the Scarlet Fire was coming out there, had to be there, did the whole tour with a had to be there approach. Wish I could bring up the set or a link, but at work and just wanted to chime in on 6/30

Had a wide draw from around the country as opposed to a local Zanzabar bar show. Memphis might have been the safest show with that in mind.

Good Times Bad Times to close the second set on Sat and While My Guitar Gently Weeps to open the show on Sunday. Wish we had seen you. We were under an easy up all three days, two rows over from Shakedown. These were, hands down, the best I have seen Phish. They came at it with a vengeance, sheer rock and roll. Did you see the tornadoes that hit shakedown on Saturday?

Tonight at Memorial Hall, 300 seater, here in Cincy, saw Jonah from Terrapin Hills festivals. Two new albums in 2020 and one coming out later this year. Also played It's a Great day To Be Alive!

(8:10-9:30) After Midnight>Eleanor>After Midnight, Black Throated Wind, Althea, Minglewood, Melissa, Tangled Up In Blue, MAMU>River, Scarlet Fire, NFA>GDTRFB>NFA (10-11:30) Beautiful venue, spacious with levels, plenty of options for where you wanted to dance, exceptional chef and kind, attentive servers. The house PA is too small to do the music justice. We got in at 6:45 for dinner and they soundchecked Mama Tried and the after midnight sandy. Good overall delivery. Like Anna said, it was mellow for a dinner show. I like a hard and gritty growl like Jerry sang.. I'd see them again in town, not driving to Lexington or Indy tho Talked with them afterwards and they were genuine and conscientiousness. They come out of Indy, not Columbus.

Freakscene: The Story of Dinosaur Jr. being released in theaters May 31st. I've never thought about seeing them although the synopsis says they preceded the grunge scene and after reading of their recent show in Nashville here on the forums has got me interested.

That 6/30/84 has a raggy audience video with sbd (voodoonola) on YouTube. It's nice to see the outdoor facility. I've enjoyed that taped for years thinking it was an indoor show 🤔 As for the 85 Spectrum shows, that was the end of the tour but they laid out some gems in that three night run, esp 4/8/85. Happy GD birthday FB, won't see you at Buckeye but maybe down the road sometime.

You're probably right. Last time I was there was in 87 and it was just another stop on the road of seeing shows, Telluride, Tempe and Park West lay ahead. I'm sure they've decked it out now and like you pointed out where are the other major musts? Ledges?

IMHO RR is overrated, where at the Frost you have grass tiers while at RR it's just rock. it was nice to kick off the shoes on a beautiful May day in Palo Alto and dance on grass. Of course, you would have to be in line early to get the front tiers and interactions with the band, The tiers are also only about 10 inches up each one where as at RR the tiers are like 2 feet up each level. I wouldn't sweat missing RR. I've been wondering and searching as to when Stanford University was going to start using the amphitheater again and it looks like Bobby and Mickey are finally getting through. I think it would be the best place for DSO to play, nice and small yet has an upper grass level to sell some tickets to make it worth the bands visit. And, yes, it would be best with a 2pm show time.

You definitely got in a good show.. I knew he was coming there as that's where we're seeing Emmylou, but I forgot it was this weekend. There is a Columbus show coming up on Wed. but it won't be as intimate as the Brown County Music center. Also, big news, Bob Weir and Mickey Hart are playing The Frost Amphitheater on Sunday May 1st! So glad they're opening up shows again at that supreme venue, kudos to Weir! Glad you got in a good show Duck

BMFS Fri and sat both nights opening with a Tony Rice tune: Freeborn Man (1st) Cold On The Shoulder (2nd). Continues to take the experience to another level. Last night they experimented with moving the sound around the room, the musicians took advantage of the trippy surround sound. Sbd guy, Andy, said this is new territory with moving sounds from back of the room to the front,then side to side, then circular. Tinfoil and Turmoil to close out 2nd set last night.
