Being in front of a musician playing Eyes of the World and them not knowing the lyrics is offensive. Eyes of the World and Fire on the Mountain are celebrations of life that merit a musical performance. My favorite director told me early on: "Get off my stage if you don't have the script memorized". The songs can't come to life until the musicians are able to let the music take them to places other than expected. Dark Star Orchestra playing an early 69 setlist or even a show as paramount as 6/24/85 is important for thoughtful consideration of where the experiment happens. Praise DSO and all the folks who show up at all the various playgrounds

Got mine in Boulder about 15 yrs ago during a 5 night Rocky mountain run. Seemingly strategically placed especially now with everyone playing to the GD dollar

I think DSO has a leap on GD. I wander if that resource link that was shared on here a couple of years ago In reference to Who Was John? But I bet they're close. Thank God that DSO is still here and touring, incredible wisdom experience and longevity. I'll for sure be at the legend shows, ga has many options once you get there, not in VIP mode these days, still between jobs after 25 yrs with Mental Health America, maybe retirement came earlier than I thought π€

I didn't get a Unlimited Devotion until last year from Hyryder and peeps are like it's fairly common among DSO and Hyryder shows. Think of all the straight up JGB (Rhapsody in Red is a WW for me for sure) Don't know if Rob wants to get into Edward the Mad, Born Cross Eyed and Cream Puff are outrageously orbiting.. Standing on the Corner is one I never knew of until it was played. Your writings bring to surface why I'm not really into all these freakin dead cover bands around Cincy. Skilled musicians are prompted by a local promoter here, so they put the sheet music in front of them ridiculous songs like Fire, Eyes and everyone seems to be playing West LA at every show. This conversation is worthy of this forum. Nicely played Billβ‘π±π·π« Thanks for setting it up.....John A around ? I did catch a Crazy Love at the Stone Jan 87, rambling back to the task at hand I do like all the Viola Lees being dropped since "me and my friends all got life round here "

Didn't mean to make light of the horror of such important American territory. Someone told me that the electric cars melted there are a mess with their battery's toxicity adding a difficult complication.

It would add a nice balance to the universe if Dark Star brought back their annual free Springfield concert to help offset the rising cost of Jubilee. I used to enjoy tripping walking along that river during set break. I gotta admit though the last time I got way to drunk being able to walk to the car cooler in between songs. But every one of those Springfield experiences were super kind. That's where I heard my first 72 extended jam version of GSET.

https://archive.org/details/gd89-04-08.sbd.26348.sbeok.shnf/gd89-04-08d1t04.shn Dark Star did justice to this the first night at last year's ~ remember? This sbd doesn't dew justice to the level of energy to that swirled through Riverfront Coliseum; however, Dark Star Orchestra brought it to a new height with their rendition, adding at a least another 10 minutes to the overall show time if not more. Great choice to open a three night series in Ohio with.

I wonder if Iraq or any of the other foreign countries we send billions of dollars to repair infrastructure are going to send any here? Will the 180,000 evacuated have a place in Mexico? Borders go both ways

I like new trend of first set openers being first and second set closers. Brings out a surprise joy. Lots of Dylan being played in the Midwest and East Coast

Fuckin A~ and a hometown loss is the cherry on the top. Sorry iron City folks, but we've suffered so much through the years, this keeps a light on for us Bengals fans. Burrows certainly deserves to come out with a feel good after all the close endings this year.

I was out there, solo, for those philly shows and the next day one of the local radio stations mentioned that they played a Dark Star the night before after a long sabbatical. Unlike any Cincinnati radio stations, the local Philly station played a bootleg Dark Star on the air to commend the Dead for playing it. That philly fall three were the last of my touring with them. 1994 was all Emmylou and the Nash Ramblers from Nashville to Greenville to Boone to the final Ramble on 2/15/95. I had gotten a safe distance from the band when that fatal news was announced in August.

You got the goods with that Scarlet Fire show.

I think they took the higher route going on the Playboy show. The Grateful Dead seemed to be connected with who they wanted, there was a scene around them. Ed Sullivan also had his scene illustrated by trying to impose a change of lyrics for Morrison. Just my thoughts on what you started. No steppenewolf, Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd either, Jefferson Airplane might have had Kanter and Balin pushing them on

I had and so did Anna and a bunch of people in my treatment groups. It's really bad and lasted forever until I took arthro miacin antibiotic to finally get rid of it. She didn't take it and it lasted 3 more weeks for her. Sorry it hit you when you were ready for shows. It does feel like death, but recovery is possible. May you feel better soon -
Packed to the gills with a long line outside well into the first set. The only space was up at the stage in the front otherwise shoulder to shoulder. I stayed up there the whole night only sipping from my wine sac throughout so not having to squeeze through to the restroom until leaving during the encore. Blair was back after his surgery and they had him ribcage rattling loud, every song was bass dominant esp HSF and Eyes. That DS>WR has been a favorite ever since seeing the 12/31/78 version and the Doodle is straight Santa Fe 83

He might have to have a ticket of some sort or something to connect him to your RV pass. That could get dicey if everyone ends up having their rigs run in by a third party Something has to go to the head that's driving in at gate time.
