The virus isn't political, so it doesn't belong in this thread. Vaccines are available, get it if you want to be protected, don't if you're willing to risk it, your choice. Just don't make me mask because some people don't want to get vaccinated

In my opinion, the biggest problem today is that both sides label anyone from the other as an extremist. Most people in this country fall somewhere in the middle. As someone from the Midwest it is very frustrating to see how the political class seems to cater to the coasts. I also find it fascinating how a block of people can swing from one party to the other. Southern democrats turned into Republicans, working class people around the Midwest are now Trump Republicans. I say they are Trump Republicans because they are only voting Republican because of him, his persona and message. They aren't fiscal conservatives or limited government people, just like that he seems to know they exist. Democratic politicians shoot themselves in the foot by coming across as arrogant people that think they know what's best for you without asking you what you think. That is a big turn off for working class people in this part of the country.

I just want to thank the band and crew for coming to Cincy for a two night run. The weather and shows were fantastic. As previously mentioned, the sound was fantastic. Good to see all the usual suspects and meet some new ones. Really hope this keeps up without interruption through the colder months.

From what I've seen, any rain should be early Saturday, I predict good weather both nights. Like the early start time but don't think show will start until 7, plan to show up around 5:30

The 5/08/77 of Dark Star Orchestra.
bs69 replied to Greg from Chestertown's topic in Random Thoughts
You hit the nail on the head, 5-8-77 is all about the Dew. For me the show would be 10-30-10. Just great mix of environment (night before Halloween with costumed crowd), mood and show. A good friend dressed up as a member of the "blue man group" and slowly dripped away in the heat of the venue as the night went on, big fun. 10-30-10 Covington, Ky. Back on topic, I think it's pretty simple. Pick a date, say July 1, and go back to normal shows. By then everyone who wants to get vaccinated will have had the chance. Those that don't, understand the risk and can take that risk if they want to go to a show

Been away for a bit and very sad to see this news. Like many, I met Herdy at the ledges. I believe it was at something called "Flashback Fest" where we enjoyed a couple nights of good music and the remnants of a hurricane coming through. Great, fun guy to hang near at a show. I can picture him setting up his chair and claiming his spot in the sand at the ledges. It is good to see so many old timers come back to pay their respects. Rock on Herd, you will be missed.

Just got back from the grocery. Freaking war zone. Still plenty of food but the beer supply is dwindling rapidly
