Was, of course, as always, hoping for the Dew, and it felt like its arrival was being foreshadowed throughout the second set with some of the 80s pre Dew songs. Gimme Some Lovin, Wheel and Watchtower had me feeling like maybe it could be coming and it was a surprise to get it out of GDTRFB.

Jerry held out 56 shows on me with the Dew,

I felt the foreshadow that night in Charlotte

    when the streak ended,

Thanks Hardpan and enjoy the Sunday show.

  2. The Pig selections anchored the show.

Fabulous work by Lisa on harp on HMT.

The Good Love a masterpiece with

Rob B. mashing in some HTH rap in

    the jam section.

Big Boss Man my personal highlight.

Great love for the Balcony Dance Crew.

  5. SCI filled the need for a few years

after Jerry.  I saw them at the

    Funnel in Baltimore probably in

    97/98  They headlined a multi

band bill and there were about

40 people left when they took

the stage.  A couple years later

they were filling mid sized arenas.

ticket to penn's peak. 33$...+ 15$ in fees!! that's basically half the price of the ticket.

Had that same thought when I bought mine.

At least Mom Mango will be in the balcony dance weave.

Second of three show benefit run at the

Warfield.  First shows that Grateful Dead

had mail order for tickets.  Last Grateful

Dead shows at the Warfield.  Opening three

of the second caught my eye.  #12 Touch,

#5 Esau, the last second set Might As Well.

I would imagine the tour heads of the day

hoping for Cosmic Charlie were not pleased.

Conjured thoughts of the Victim, Blow Away>

Foolish letdown at Buckeye 1988.  Over time

my opinion of all three would drastically change.

For your approval, this colossal thirty song

odyssey from East Coat Spring 1973.

Only time Cumberland and HCS were ever

attached.  Seventeen song first has some

thing for everyone punctuated by the

    closing China>Rider.  Early second set

merely a precursor to the otherworldly

closing triad.  The Star clocks in at a

cool 32:08, going all the way out and

back.  A showpiece for the band in 1973

glory.  Official release Dave's Picks 16.

  9. I am thrilled that Way2Go and Wave2theWind have

created such lively discussion.  I cannot resist any

musical notes played by Jerry Garcia regardless of

the songs they are contained in.

Fabulous post DD, funny how 30 years after the

fact I find out  we were both at the Cap Center

that evening.  Having Bruce on accordion for the

second set probably assisted in on stage juice.

    Drums>Space>Way to Go Home>Other One>

    Morning Dew.

    E:  The Weight.

Second of the pair at the Dean Dome.  List riddled

with new material, but I recall the music inspired.

SMR, after some early second set work, mostly a

first set number.  Six of first ten Eternitys were

attached to Liberty.  Wave to the Wind preceded

Terrapin 3 out of 21 total plays.  Way to Go led us

out of space seven times in 93 [4] and 94 [3].

End late song research.  10 song first, 5/3/1 second

with a Dew-solid for 93.  Much like Tea, I consider

these shows among the best of my late vintage

    attendances.

E:  Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.

Crazy Fingers fake before Box of Rain.

First of two at Dead Dome in Spring 93, what a treat

to see the band in an on campus facility in 1993.

Solid playing throughout, the second set supplying a

little extra juice, the post space even more so.

The band could occasionally blow the doors off even

    in this late vintage.

Here in PHX The Noodles play every Sunday.  They’re really good, and a lot of fun.

Next week they will celebrate 26 years of playing.  They used to be at Full Sail Inn, now they play at Cactus Jack’s.

Check em out if you’re in AZ.
