  2. Our jubilee tix were a Christmas present from my mom early bird. Now a pair of vip with car is $1020. Lost lands and other fests have made legend valley outgrow jubilee. Premier weekends they want 10k+ peeps. I’m a big advocate for the mixing of jubilee with an EDM fest to keep it Memorial Day weekend outside Columbus. Dso plays nightly at their own stage while we enjoy the sites of EDM festival goers. I’m a big advocate of less clothing and I’d even be willing to go with a thong if need be to fit in with the 20yr old chicks. They would be like nice chaps. Thank you milady.

  3. I thought the design was far from ideal. Massive complex but the dance floor was too small when we saw Phil and friends there. Nashville is a good spot to see him with the plethora of fantastic musicians there. We could find no space and it wasn’t sold out. We did bowl a game before the show which was fun and got to watch a minor league game from the smoking deck. What sucks was the game made all parking expensive and a 5 block walk. It had one of the smaller dance areas I’ve seen. Is it even 40x30’ on the floor?

U2 needs all the visuals they can get. They suck.

many of their songs relate to their Irish heritage so they mean as much to you as the dead means to people that give 2 shits about the American west. And U2 doesn’t suck. You may not like them but don’t see a world in which they “suck”.

  5. The only time I saw them play with Dickey was at the palace theater in Louisville in 1993/94. I remember Derek trucks coming on stage to play a couple songs and think he was only 15 or 16 at the time.

  6. The reason this is being even brought forward is the Taylor swift ticket backlash. Umm 1 million peeps were trying to get 50k tickets. Demand greatly overwhelmed supply but Ticketmaster is the villain. I’m no fan of Ticketmaster but the Taylor swift stuff was pure market capitalism at work. Likely 50% saw dollar signs with no interest in the concert wanting to get rich reselling as people who see 1 concert a year will pay anything. We decided against deadco at the Sphere out of principle. Not paying $350-450 for 1 ticket to 1 show. Just not doing it. Nothing is that important to me. I’ll go pop a $15 hyryder show up and back. As soon as we both saw those sphere prices we said naw. No view of the screen was $250. That’s the reason I’d care about even going is for the visuals. If I come in to $5 mil I ain’t spending 900 on a pair of tix for 1 night to any concert.

  7. Is that like an 8 hour show or is it a lot of peeps packed into 4 hours. Can’t see the Dso guys being cool playing for 1:30. Barraco’s headband is just getting loose an hour in.

edit. Show starts at 2 so all day. I’d do balcony. Pretty much rest is standing and that’s a long time to be on your feer but 50’s ain’t like the 20s

  8. Yep. Just saw this as fact. Sucks peeps won’t get their money back. Eek. I know lots of the Indy townies scrape up cash to travel once a year to see hyryder. This will sting those guys who used all their disposable money for the year to support their band. More locals who can shell out $15 for a show vs the Dso die hards who won’t miss the money like in town peeps who like seeing their fav band on a big national stage and this was a luxury.

Holy shit that is a klusterfuck with tremendous ripple effects in many many directions…feel so bad for all the organizers and bands contracted and everyone,,,,and as a ticket holder for the event I say DSO get on the horn and try and rustle up some sort of 3 night run in Ventura last minute and make some serious lemonade out of the situation….would be some crazy last minute coagulation if it could happen…but maybe not impossible!!

can’t believe how last minute this cancellation is…freaking crazy!!

I assume most peeps are cancelling their flights and plans.

I read the eclipse stimulated the economy to the tune of $6B.  Can Taylor Swift even do that?

Are you saying the eclipse wasn’t sponsored by the Taylor swift Travis Kelce sex trafficking ring?? She makes a billion and sex trafficking is at an all time high. Kelce wins the superbowl looking like he was jacked up on Hillary Clinton’s child adrenaline gland cocktail. Any reasonable person can put 2 and 2 together. And then there’s an eclipse a couple months later. Gotta look deeper bro. It’s in the numbers.

  10. This was the 2nd total eclipse I’ve had in my back yard in 7 years. There’s not much like a total eclipse. Southern Illinois and western KY are in the x marks the spot double eclipse area even though this one was only 1:20 vs the 2:25 we had in 2017. The last few seconds before a ripple of light starts to move over the ground as all the light becomes from the flares. Then darkness out. At around 95% covered everything becomes surreal looking. A minute before it went total Jonathan wanted to look at it so had to take him inside to not get his corneas burned like the 500 people last eclipse. Your eyes don’t automatically close like with the sun out. But the 500 people with a tiny strip of sun burnt into their corneas after the last one will tell you don’t look. Once it went full brought him out to see. He’s a moon fanatic anyway. Any time a moon shows up in any movie you get the “daddy moon. Moon daddy”. Cheers.

oh and you could see stars and planets during the full.

  11. So I had to continue to bet UConn as they had covered every game. -11.5 vs Bama was a ridiculous spread and they still covered. Never saw anything like this in my life. 11 straight tourney games winning by 13+. They are favored over Purdue by 7. That’s nutty too but how could I get off them. The regret of not winning 6 straight UConn bets would overwhelm me. If they won by 4 vs Bama the spread wouldn’t be that high but eventually the spread becomes too much.

  12.  Pass the whiskey round. Like serious. You drunk mother fuckers ate hogging it all.

4/29/71 is just too short. Sorry. 9 minutes isn’t enough to tell a tale. For non heads 9 minutes is extremism but it leaves too much on the table for me.

on the 8/6/71 I have 4 sources from the John A mega drive but only 3 have the hard to handle as dicks picks volume 35 excludes it so I need to listen to all 3 but not sure 7:48 will do it either.

Did the dead not play a 15 min hard to handle? Has Dso played an expanded one? I’m sorta confused. I thought there were many really long ones but I can’t seem to find any. I guess I never really think about the length of a few songs. Good lord I need to listen to more shows again but I get “no dance daddy. No dance”. We aren’t dancing. I’m playing music. “No dance daddy!!!!!!”  Peace. Bed calls

That’s what I thought. I guess Dark Star could cover it in the filler spot.

Dso plays several songs the dead never did in spots other than just filler. Oh darling is one. Also don’t think the Grateful Dead as that unit ever played take a letter Maria. I actually didn’t realize the dead played love the one your with in 83. It’s a lot of work learning the 1 off songs and if Dso does, they are gonna play them more than once
