  1. Well there’s a chance we won’t have anyone to take care of Jonathan. He’d love it at jubilee but he’d crash and burn at 9pm and be super pissed he couldn’t go to sleep. He’s slept through the night every night since 8 months.  Epic sleeper. At the superbowl party we couldn’t find him. He went into the hosts bedroom and got in their bed to go to sleep lol. We’d love to share more with him but you don’t know our kid. Crazy independent. Does what he wants to do not what we want, not acting bad but he has a way he wants to play and we have to conform to his way. Hes not ready to chill yet. Hes ancy. Staying put isn’t for him. I don’t see him allowing his headphones so we’d have to go to the field. No way he’d let us go where the music sounds how we want it. It would be all about him all weekend and everything else would be secondary. You’re lucky MC with the older daughter which helps the younger ones follow her lead and gives them someone to play with. A solo wild man who just wants to dig holes and play in the dirt and put mud all over himself is awesome when we play at home but just saying you don’t really understand. He’s smart and knows it and is still in his terrible 2’s but with way more brain power. Jubilee would be so much work. I’m Mr mom all day Monday-friday 7a-9pm when I put him to bed. I need a break from this cute little monster and may not get it. There’s a thought to sell our tix as it could be just wayyyy too much dealing with his fits not getting his way. Just saying he’s this little evil genius.

I am seeing Disco Biscuits Tuesday but I’ll finally get to see Ms Emmy right before the jubilee

AC will be there too but he’s Emmy Lou Fam. we thought about that but with doing Dso in Nashville Tuesday and the weekend before, we are prob gonna just get to the hotel near buckeye and chill. Those troopers can’t use your car smells like weed as an excuse yo search peoples cars leaving jubilee this year. Using those federal holiday keep highway safe bonus funds for overtime to pull over deadheads early in the morning vs getting guys going 100 causing wrecks should be over. They wrecked a lot of peeps lives terrorizing everyone leaving jubilee for years and they wonder where the bovine connotation came from—maybe dumping out everyone’s backpacks on the side of the road and just driving away if they didn’t find anything leaving the campers to clean up the mess.

  3. Good read.
    1.  Dso needs to play a show in drag to show their support!!

    2. I just saw a Dso show on YouTube of redrocks 2022 with Barraco wearing a baseball cap. In all my shows I’ve never seen him wear anything other than the “trademark bandana” besides maybe a sock cap in extreme cold.
    3. It took them long enough to get to DSO. They mentioned JRAD, grateful shred and the drag queen band Bertha before a few paragraphs later Barraco saving the article and steadying the authors proverbial hand, keeping it from being a fluff piece and giving it some depth. I think there were some thoughts not really said that the author thinks Dso needs to up their game by either going drag, maybe doing a few shows as the Donna’s where they all dress like Donna, or they dress like the dead. Depending on the eras of keyboards, Rob will have hair and makeup ready to turn him into Pig or Keith or Brent or maybe Bruce. Eaton just needs to stock up on pastel izods and get some vintage short short cutoffs.

We our bringing Rick jr. to the outdoor show in Denver. The whole family. No babysitter. A certain guy that plays for these guys made it seem like he'd like that happen. Mish is for mom and dad. Vail may or may not even happen. Denver is all family. Boulder just isn't a great spot for kids. We'll go but come right home after show. Babysitter but no overnight sitter. Fairly balanced Colorado run.

Europe will be just me and my beautiful lady. Kids can't miss show and we need time to remember us and our passion for each other and love.

Jubilee is same deal as last year with hopefully a little more grace.

Really not sure what else we catch this year. I can't even say the Greek is a definite. But hopeful.

I feel like the peak is probably a sure thing.

Jonathan got his 1st and only show at 6 months but those were the epic drive in shows. We were pining for more of those as he could see set 1 then sleep in AC in the car set 2. Drive in shows. Drive in shows!!!  Let’s hope your boy ain’t as cray as ours is. Yours has older siblings that can help luckily as he grows and he can follow their lead b/c if he’s as wild as ours, you’re not taking him unless you want to follow him everywhere b/c he won’t do anything we ask. He knows what he wants and knows what we want and they are usually opposite. He doesn’t say no. He yells it. He’s like bring on time out. Doesn’t phase me. He doesn’t walk. He dances around the store. If he’d just listen we could take him somewhere but he marches to the beat of his own drum. When he doesn’t want to go somewhere he hides my shoes and 2 days later they are found with the pots and pans. As you can see I can’t stop talking about him. He’s my world and everything else is just peripheral. It’s why missing shows isn’t a biggie to me. I ain’t missing jubilee. That’s our annual escape.

  5. This Europe run is set up so much easier than last one. 2 and 2 with 2 days off allows you to enjoy Paris and London besides train, eat, show, sleep then train again repeat. You almost needed a tour bus with driver last one. At least DSO got to wake in the next city and be able to enjoy it all day as everyone else was driving or training.

I toured full time 1997-2001. Those were my high volume show years. On Phil fall tour 1999, he busted out Willin', Fat Man in the Bathtub, and Don't Bogart that joint several times, as Paul Barrere and Billy Payne were part of the band. I don't think he played them after that. Those were magical times

precedent has been set. Willin’ it is

Love the Rude/TB dynamic here on the forums when it comes to your current take on seeing shows. You both present the same case every time😂 My busiest year was 29 in 2019 and I doubt I’ll ever see that again. The kids are getting bigger and I want to give them more time, and I’ll admit to feeling burnt out if I’m seeing more than a few on the tour. I’ve seen a bunch of shows and I’m glad to make it fit in as I can, but I’m gonna do my best to try to make it to these 😄

I used to be like “drop this kids wherever and come join us”. Now I get it lol. had no sympathy when I couldn’t get buddies to do a run with us.  “Hey it’s just 2 weeks. California blah blah. Can’t you just go through the day care drive thru and see them in a week?”

I had back to back 36 show years. I thought it was more but not when I just checked. But we also did jazz fest and did 3-5 JRAD a year and 3-4 deadco. I don’t have that energy anymore. I think covid aged everyone several years. Took us out of the routines that kept us young and the older you get, you can’t take any off time or it’s hard to get back where you were.

  8. I’d love to do it. I’d have loved Hawaii if it was more than 2. When Covid struck and cancelled spring tour meili and I booked 9 days at the Ritz Carlton Maui plus flights and then they instituted a 14 day quarantine after arriving in Hawaii and closed all the restaurants so we had to cancel. Then we got pregnant with lockdown baby. Before that DSO was the main driver of our lives. Now a 3yr old is so gotta do the close ones but this all looks fun. Still haven’t missed anything within 6 hours besides that Tuesday Cincy show last fall but daddy day care didn’t sync up. After Birmingham through Chattanooga I wanted more more but she had to work.

  9. I just don’t care as much about shows anymore. I think covid broke the addiction where any I missed I was hurting. If I get 15 shows a year now that’s epic for me and I’m good. Hell, not many peeps get that many shows a year. Her work friends think is seeing those 5 fall tour shows was a crazy amount lol. I had no balance before. He brings me balance even though right now he’s an asshole to daddy and there’s no balance. I don’t really like being away from him too long. But he and I are in a deep codependent relationship currently and spend maybe too much time together and he acts out against me b/c morning until bed I’m the disheveled housewife wearing the robe who’s husband is like why don’t you keep yourself up anymore. But I wouldn’t have it any other way. Hopefully if we have a Memorial Day in a few years where no one can keep him, he could come but he’s wayyyyy away from being able to do that now. If he doesn’t get his way he’s a terror. The terrible 2’s are still in full effect at 39 months and maybe worse now that he knows everything. Luckily you had girls who would listen to you guys. We ain’t got that. I had to carry him upside down leaving a parade that had ended b/c he’s like nope I’m hanging here for a bit.

Truth be told I don't go to shows to scope out chicks. And I'm taking Whitney to the stones be chicks like that all over. Dime a dozen.

and no one can do them all.

I was referring to the chick not able to walk much less dance in those crazy high heeled shoes. I don’t go to “scope out chicks” but I recall we all had a laugh at her not realizing it was a 4 hours dance party and she had no idea evidently with how she was dressed.

it’s not the money either. I can afford to do every show this year if I wanted to abandon my kid. It’s too hard to take a week off overseas. Flights are also rough b/c we have to head to the airport at 4am to minimize the time the grandparents have him. He’s a mega handful. It’s so tiring to hop on flights right now and with my parents gone Memorial Day, it made it a lot harder to figure the logistics of it. By the time jubilee is over we will have hit 11 DSO in 6 months plus 3 phish shows. Thats as much as we can do. She doesn’t have the vacation days to do Europe either. We allocate 6 for the beach and 10 for Dso every year. We’ve done several late night drives home after shows to save those precious vacation days. Before her hospital job we were on the road 12 weeks a year at our peak. If you remove the northeast we were doing 2/3 of the shows for several years and did every Colorado show for 3 straight years pre covid when the wall came down.

I thought for sure there was gonna be a Red Rocks announcement for July 😲 I suppose a jump back across the pond is indeed Big News - just wasn't conceptualizing another visit after the E72 recreations from 2022.

maybe one day Dso will want to do a vacation week in Wilmington NC in the summer with a 10 day residency. Hawaii, Europe, Jackson and next Wrightsville beach that many say rivals Hawaii. Only way to find out is to do 6 shows in 7 days. It’s no Stage on Bay in Savannah, but nothing rivals that venue. Stage on Bay.  The views. Wow. Very few burnt out cars sitting there a decade. Not many venues have less than 2 burnt out cars with years of grass growing up around them. They only had 1. The razor wire was in great shape for the parking lot. You can tell they prided themselves in it.

Do know what I knew I could count on? When DSO made this announcement, Rude would have something to say but have no actual interest in going. They play London on my birthday. Sure beats Omaha.

I love Dso bro. But I can’t do them all.

Beats Omaha? What about the high heeled chick. You don’t see that at shows.

  12. That looks cool. I just don’t know why they won’t speak American in France. We should have kept it after we invaded it. Why invade a country if you won’t keep it. But all they make is wine and croissants so we didn’t see the strategic interest in making it the 51st state since no one had the money in the 40’s to buy expensive wine.  We could have taught them how to be real men like Americans and speak a real language not some made up one. There’s a reason Jesus came to America in the 1800s and talked to Joseph smith. Jesus was an American the whole time. I mean the Bible is in English b/c that’s what everyone spoke. But no. All the Louis’ decided to make up some gibberish language no one understands. Their marketing peeps are a very high level like Vegas making Paris “The city of love”.bravo marketers. I guess dark star is trying to teach the Parisians some culture. It’s like a mission trip to expose them to real art. It’s also hard to even buy tickets b/c you don’t know what you’re buying plus the weird money they use. Are the tickets $1 American or $1000. No one knows. Any country with 2 currencies is not to be trusted. It’s even worse in England. Quid, pound, euro. It’s all to scam foreigners and be careful in England b/c everyone throws acid on everyone and not the good kind. I’ll stick to the safety of Chicago and Atlanta where if robbed they just want dollars.

It sounds like there's a lot of excitement and anticipation for the upcoming football season, especially for Dallas Cowboys fans! Despite some setbacks, like missing out on signing players in the legal tampering period, it's great to hear that Jerry Jones is going all in for a Super Bowl run. With a few losses but also some gains, like an extra 7th round pick, there's still plenty of hope and optimism for the team.

All we need to be successful is to draft what turns out to be the best player in the 1st 3 rounds and that once a decade 7th round pro bowler. Jerry jones is being sneaky signing no one who’s le letting starters leave. It’s deception and 4D chess. His horrible 2023 draft class will now become 1st and 2nd team all pros. He wanted them to all come along slowly and for the ones that are injured use his surgeon that will make them even faster!!!! He plays the long game. 29 years and back to the superbowl.

They say they do 76-95 which I guess if you get technical, JGB specifically kicked off late 75 after the Legion of Mary arrangement and other side projects prior to that…

I guess I saw Jerry’s Middle Finger 2 hrs ago at Skull and Roses but now I’d like to compare these two bands to hone in on best opportunity for solid JGB available. Of course JGB with Melvin and JK does the trick…

it would be tough to do Merle and Jerry stuff as it was sooo much material. Would love to hear Dso do my funny valentine

Caught Garcia Project twice last week…had a blast steeped in some gorgeous jgb…they did a 76 and then an 83,,both super well done…definitely ready for more of these guys. Had seen them once but felt like they’re going deeper now…great vibes.

if you’re craving some squeaky clean jgb, go check them out when they come around 😉

do they ever do any 73 shows. Love that Jerry jazz.

im all for more of The band. I’m also waiting for the bust out of Wilin’. That’s a perfect jubilee bust out or maybe fine tune in Nashville. Gotta think Easy to slip was just a warm up for willin. But you’d probably want Brent harmonizing on it and when he died it was all she wrote for Willin’ in my alternate history book.

So the doctor asked us what music we listen when Delilah was born. Whitney said Grateful Dead. Doc put on a spotty or some kind of mix based off the Grateful Dead. Delilah was born while morning dew was playing.

we brought her Bose wave radio to the hospital and jammed the whole 24 hours up til birth. Unfortunately they had to do a C section so we had to go in an operating room and I wasn’t allowed in until they were about to pull it out so no music. Lots of covid rules and stuff in Dec 2020. What was weird was the nurse said I didn’t have to wear a mask in our room even as nurses and doctors were coming and going and this was in the height of mask hysteria and in a hospital. I brought this face shield as it was acceptable and less bothersome and she’s like you don’t need to mask or meili. We were like sweet. I brought a little flask of good whiskey for the overnight before the birthing and got a bit buzzed too. Those birthing suites are huge and soundproof mostly so we really jammed. She did those Maryland drive in shows 6 weeks before he was born so he got music and she was her crazy dancing self with no slowdown. I was like maybe don’t jump up and down continuously lol. She conceded that dance style lol. She was also like shows sober are just as fun which is completely true. The music is the buzz.

  18. We may be able to pull off 6 of 7 shows.  Asheville x2, Nashville then 3 jubilee. Luckily my mom is begging to keep boss baby as she has to go to a graduation on Memorial Day weekend so she can grab him Asheville weekend and her parents jubilee. The Nashville will be a babysitter from 5p-2a as it’s an up and back on Tuesday but man that’s sorta rough considering we are leaving Thursday early am. The day after a night drive home is harder and harder as the years catch up and having to eat ADD meds to pull off the overnight drive. Then pack Wednesday then hit the road the next day. I was gonna just pass on Asheville and do Nashville and Jub but that made momma bear mad and gotta keep her from being grizzly so we will see.

    what’s wrong with Lafitte 55 ? 😉

I wish all of you were there the last two nights. From my seat, it doesn’t get any better. More like a fine Burgundy, though 😉

oh before I forget, the 69 from a few nights ago.  🙀🙀🙀🙀🙀🙀🙀

back to your regularly scheduled program 😉

lockdown babies have a way of killing travel. I’m guessing the last lockdown babies before 2020 were maybe during the Cuban missle crisis or at least in my town considering the United States enrichment corporation was the 2nd Russian target after Oak Ridge. On US60 on the way there, almost every home has an underground bunker and there’s 1 that has this old conversion van at a 45 degree angle sticking out of the ground with 2/3 buried. You open the back doors and that’s the entry to the bunker. Those would be morning Dew babies.

You rang, Rude? Do me a favor and cue up 7-19-89 Alpine Valley Morning Dew via the Healy Ultra-Matrix.  Play it as loud as you can, then get back to me.

That goes for the rest of you as well...  😁

but to do it justice they would need your remasters you edit bit by bit. We’ve seen you work listening to a song then being like this note should be 00101101011101 and doing your binary edits. It was like watching the matrix. You were grooving to 1’s and 0’s with a bottle of chateau lafitte Rothschild with a decayed label that was supposedly one of the last bottles from 1955. Its always interesting to watch the masters at play.

  21. John A will curse me but I’ve never been a fan of the Healy ultra matrix. I’d guess it’s b/c I never liked his boards. Maybe the matrix improves the overall feel of it but on the John A 4TB hard drive v12.0.3 that’s the only option besides straight auds for some of the late 80s with almost all 87 and 88 exclusively ultra matrix if you want a board. It does give you the sound of an arena if you wanna close your eyes and get taken back.
