back in the day when I was taking dead novices and dso virgins to shows, I really wanted them to play this era. Now I’d rather hear dso do originals, mid to late 80’s or old school.  Most of my my friends now listen to dead at least in a rotation. They did that 69 at Louisville several years ago and it was a buddys 1sr show. I was worried but he thought it was the greatest thing ever. He was using big boy Pete lyrics that week and I’m like what’s that from. He’s like we heard it in Louisville. Note he likes to go big on getting a buzz on so that era was kind to him that night lol.

I have a friend who got a BBP at his first two shows. 2nd being that Louisville show, 1st was early set from Cleveland HOB a year or two before. I told him he had to be the only person in history with multiple shows and 100% Big Boy Pete exposure 🤣

  2. Was an awesome weekend for sure. Night three I staggered up to an opening in the crowd to get ready for DSO and looked around and was just surrounded by forum folks. Putting some more faces to names is always fun (even if I won’t remember the names). I feel bad sometimes for people who chase other dead bands and don’t know how good it can be. We are spoiled. This weekend is evidence. As long as I’m able, I will continue to not miss a jubilee

  3. Yeh 1st set looks a little jumbled. I don’t recall Cassidy Peggy’o or MNS, 1st ended w/miracle Bertha maybe? Possible things were jumbled in the interest of time? I could also have blanked out for a stretch here or there. 🤣

  4. In 97 a security dude at a Deercreek campground told me that he hated the phish kids because there were always fights and theft when they came to town. I held on to that bad energy grudge for a long time. Then a buddy said he had free tix to see them at Deercreek in ‘21 and it was his birthday so I said what the hell. I had a good time. I’ll do the Deercreek run yearly and maybe a spare weekend run here or there. They are never gonna have me in tears like the Hunter poetry and Jerry licks, but I seem to have a good enough time. Luke likes going, Sammy still refuses. 🤣

  5. Luke and I went up to Newport to see “end of the line” Allman Bros tribute. Out of Nashville, I’ll definitely catch them again. They are at Z bar in Louisville Saturday but I’m outa town. So we looked to see if we could catch them nearby somewhere else and they played Newport last night.

  6. Man that was the best I’ve seen Bobby in a long long time. I really enjoyed that show. Crowd was hyped up for the palace too. Sylvio featuring tequila jam, and eyes/what’s goin on, and the Dew were my highlights along with BTW (favorite Bobby tune) in the 1st.

  7. Man the last two weekends I have hit this little soon to be private club in Louisville. It’s just starting but apparently a guy who used to post “living room concerts” online with local musicians bought a place to start having these shows. No cover, BYOB, and they pass the hat with 100% of the donations going to the artists performing. 1st week I went was a bluegrass band that I basically watched grow up and become a band down at Terrapin hill farm. Last night was a local legend who played old blues and gave us a Peggy O. Dude is a music lover who tells everyone that this is a “listening room” not a concert hall. A place for music lovers to go to listen to music. Just a freakin beautiful spot for live local music with no hassles. He’s been doing this about 8 months, and I’m kinda salty that I’m just now hearing about it because so far it seems Taylor made for me.

  8. Sammy and I went over to Louisville to see Stolen Faces from Nashville. It was a good time. They played tight but short jams which meant a ton of songs got played. I need to back off and give my foot time to heal before Summer but I’ll have to start after next weekend because we are going up to Grateful Dead night at the Redwings on the 14th. Taking my sister and nieces who aren’t dead or hockey fans. Merry Christmas to them lol

  9. I took the boys and a buddy to New Orleans for Billy. We stayed in Tuscaloosa Thursday and had the whole city to ourselves because everyone was already in NO for the sugar bowl. We ended up going to the sugar bowl and was a cool way to spend the day. Left early due to Bama beatdown. Literally bumped right into Archie Manning outside his restaurant while looking over my shoulder trying to sneak out to the street for a toke 🤣. We didn’t get to do much pokin around, but ate some good shit, and had a killer time. Broke my foot thanksgiving week and had been feeling pretty good but it was the size of a grapefruit again when I got home. Totally worth it. If you ask Luke the highlight was the 75,000 sq ft gas station Buc-ee’s that had killer brisket sandwiches and was kind of like a mix between a grocery store and a Bass Pro shop. Lol my friend told Luke he’d buy him a beaver hat but he had to wear it the whole trip so all my pics luke is wearing a bucee beaver toboggan with the pippy  longstocking braids. He says Billy is kicking it to 3 nights next year but I don’t know where he saw it

Also ran into AC both nights in NO but we somehow missed each other at the Pageant 😂
