  1. I feel like we saw different shows. 🤣😆 We stayed up top for space and sound and hung round in front of the VIP tent. Luke said he liked Friday's show over all 3 from Louisville. I thought that was a little much, but had a great time and didn’t leave disappointed in the least. The Fiddler feels to me like a perfect fit. Boys went back Saturday with friends but I stayed home for BCE in New Albany (basically Louisville) which was in an awesome little outdoor venue.

  2. I did Deercreek last week and then went up to Michigan but did Tedeschi trucks in Detroit rather than going up to Pine Knob. Was weird D&C played indy and Michigan same two days as TTB. 90% of the time I go to shows strictly for the music. Dead and co is the exception for me. The shakedown, seeing all the local heads that don’t come out for any other bands, and camping round Deercreek will always be enough to get me to the Creek for anything dead related. Especially by waiting and getting those day of show deals. My buddy took his 12 year old to her first concert. It was a good time. Saw a ton of old friends. I feel more at home in the lawn at Deercreek, than I do just about anywhere else in this world.

  3. Luke and I did the Trey solo acoustic opener in Louisville. Iroquois was barely half full. Was kinda surprised. We got super cheap tix off CoT an hour and a half before show. It was a fun little set. Trey said last time phish played Louisville was ‘95, and after the turnout he had I don’t see that changing. Lol

  4. Absolutely perfect. Did GA as always just because I wanna hear every band. Plus the haul in and out sucks, but it ain’t so bad with a wagon. 3 trips up and down the hill and we didn’t have to move for 3 days. Heard all bands, only went to stage for DSO and a handful of others but what a weekend.   Finally got a couple of buddies to come along plus Sammy and I think they may be for sure future attendees. So laid back. We camped next to VIP entrance in GA and used VIP facilities 30yds away all weekend w/no hassle. Stayed away from the mud (mostly) and had one hell of a music filled weekend. Cooked big Ol breakfasts, then ate disco at night, slept like a baby all 3 nights. Swear I get my best sleep in some field in a tent. Lol

But of course the universe had to even things out and dump some shit on us Monday as we had a blowout on the way home. Luckily we had just crossed into KY. I believe that was the difference between being searched if we’d have been in Ohio, but in KY the cop was just glad we didn’t want his help and left us alone. 🤣😆 Rim was seized to the drum and it took over 2 hours to get the flat off to change the tire. Overall still a great weekend. Got tire fixed and oil changed and me and luke are camping Deercreek for phish next weekend. Caverns/Jubilee/Phish 3 weekends in a row and then I’m gonna need a break.

  5. We always make “bets” when we go to shows and pick songs just to have a little competition going between the boys and I, it was more a way to keep them interested when they were younger, but they are 23-19 and still ask, “are we gonna take bets?” Sammy took Cumberland specifically because of the mine references but didn’t get it. We were kicking ourselves all weekend for no one taking the automatic point w/Tennessee Jed

  6. I wiped out hard in the gravel on the way in. 🤣😆 boys were inside already. Turned an ankle on a big rock I think. Spent the whole show physically feeling like I’d just had my ass kicked. Made way worse by sobriety this morning. 🤣 I’m sure it was a spectacle if anyone was outside. I was told I flew.

  7. I’ll typically pick the winner then box 3 horses for 2-4. Lowers it from $48 to $12. If you pick the fist two and box last two it drops to $4. I’ll do a bunch of those and then ten totally random ones picking the horses I didn’t bet before. In the random I had 21-3-12-6 and was half right. That ought to at least be worth a $100 bill 🤣😆

  8. A $2 super paid nearly $700k. I had the longshot in first and the 2nd place horse. I didn’t get to watch and couldn’t hear as they announced the 3rd and 4th. Man I was sweatin. Thought for a minute I was retiring and going on permatour. Reality reared it’s head quickly tho when I checked my TwinSpires account and saw a whopping $4 in it. I musta had a horse scratch somewhere… and that was the only money I got back on derby day. 🤣😆

  9. Cyberknife Is my conspiracy “it’s fixed” horse. Lol.
The trainer Brad Cox who won the derby last year after the real winner popped a positive drug test. So his horse technically won but he got none of the fanfare, didn’t get to celebrate, no roses, nuthin. So the “racing gods” put him in the winners circle tomorrow. Lol

    i like Mo D too

i think Zandon and epicenter are the two best horses, but derby anything can happen.

  10. Went to see JRaD in Newport KY last night. Was a good time. A few times they would play a long intro jam before dropping into this or that song and I really enjoyed those. Was my first time seeing them live. I like that little venue. Was the same one DSO played a month ago

  11. 6 minutes ago, Michael Doc Watson said:

Sure will be cool to see you three again. Last time I remember was The Ledges with those two ruling the paths on their bikes.

Wish Chuck would come out again to old home Southern roots. I think there should be a movement here to get Cuck to come to the Caverns,

    Peace and Love,

    Doc

We’re being confused w/someone else man. We didn’t get on the DSO bus til after ledges days. Still be good to see ya though

  12. Saw Elton John at the YUM yesterday. Luke bought those tix when he was 16 and he’ll be 20 in Sept. it was  postponed twice, he finally got his show. He played a straight 2:40 set no break. I was dying for set break by like 9:15but realized by quarter of ten that he was just gonna power through. He said his farewell tour is over 200 shows in, but he still has over 120 left. That’s a helluva long tour. Lol

  13. This is the first March madness since I was probably 9 that I didn’t fill out a bracket. And it’s without a doubt the best I’ve done gambling wise on a tournament ever. Gonna be hard to bet against UNC, they’ve brought me  in some green winning as underdogs since rd 2 or 3. UNC/Kansas should be a hell of a game. To bad I’ll likely be asleep before it starts. Lol
