Just got home and decided to put on Hyryders Saturday stream on FB. 2nd song was hey pocky way. I told meili that this was the 1st song I ever saw DSO play and I didn’t really know it. Then I realized how many dead songs that dso exposed me too. So many 1-5x played songs that are almost impossible to know unless you listen to every dead show multiple times. But dso gives us that deep dive. Now there are a few deep dives like keep on growing that I don’t mind sinking to the bottom, only b/c I think I caught like 8 of the 1st 10 ever played, but so many songs were learned through dso. Hyryder also goes crazy deep and teaches people lots of dead.

I’ve reversed my opinion on Keep on Growing, enjoy it now, but I like the way you put it😄

  2. It looks like this fall tour has one 3 day weekend to kick it off, followed by a five day gap and then 13 shows in 17 days, a couple Tuesdays and even a Monday.  Looks pretty good except that a couple in my driving range if it was a weekend are on Tuesdays. Glad to have Long Island coming up the weekend after Thanksgiving, can’t make anything else this round.

  7. Just noticed, no Who Do You Love in there. Was definitely feeling tired at the tail end of this 4 night run of monster shows, but pulled it together and was able to keep going most of the night. Another great show, fun to hear the nightly variations of all the repeats in these shows, and to hear the band continuing to dial it in. Nice day to explore Berlin a little bit, saw some sights and ate one of the best meals of my life this evening with the best company, still in a schnitzel coma but it was worth it. Headed to Munich tomorrow😀

    One More Saturday Night

All I can say is wow, just a perfect night, one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. There was a big curtain behind the soundboard, and beyond that, a huge dance floor that was a romp for the whole night. Great space to move freely and I did my best to do it justice! Every show so far has been so cool to see deadheads from all over Europe having so much fun ❤️

    One More Saturday Night

I might have the second set mixed up, but wow what a great time. We got to Germany from Paris by train at around 2pm, didn’t get any time in the city really, but hope to look around a bit tomorrow before our train to Frankfurt. A great crowd, many enthusiastic German Deadheads along with a lot of Americans. Found out after we ate dinner that the restaurant didn’t accept card payment 😵💫 Had no cash and had to take the walk of shame to an ATM, but before I got back, Jake was talking to a German deadhead who covered our bill!! We repaid him at setbreak and had a nice chat. Lots of enthusiasm on the dance floor and great sound, great spacey Dark Star with a nice feedback segment. A fun night, off to bed and hopefully up early to take a look around😃

  11. What an amazing time. So cool to see British Deadheads who have never seen DSO completely blissed out in ecstasy, it was so sweet and made me feel so grateful for the band we all love being here in the USA. First set clocked in at just about two hours, Cumberland smoked, China Rider had the house jumping. Second set, a beautiful sequence, emotional Dew with a nice quiet space. Great listening crowd, not a whole lot of jabbering. Floor was pretty packed but we found plenty of breathing room in a little alcove in the balcony and did a number on the carpeting up there. Nice to have some time to hang out and take in the the sights and flavors of London, on to Paris tomorrow!😀

  12. Excited to see a couple shows at the Catskill Mountain Jubilee this weekend. It was a lot of fun last year, nice outdoor space with grass to dance upon. This brutal heatwave up here has broken, looking like some great weather, 80/56 temps. Anyone else here planning on being in attendance?

So am I but we just had a pretty severe cold go through family. First Delilah. Then Whitney. I am the 3rd victim. It wasn't covid. All negative on that front but possibly the flu. It took them like 3/4 days to rebound. I'm on day 3 now so it's probably good I got another day or two for recovery.

We have the same thing going through the house over here. First one kid, then the other and Sara. Fever and cough, no Covid, we were also thinking the flu, lasted around 4 days. Get well soon!

  14. Some great selections here, John. Listened to 11/2/84 for the first time last night based on your testimony and agree that it’s great. I’ll toss a few of my favorites out:

3/14/81, Hartford: great show throughout, love the raw tone to Jerry’s voice. Tough to pick a highlight.

7/15/88, Greek: another JohnA recommendation that has become a favorite show. One of my all time favorite Dews and a killer huge sound

6/18/83, SPAC: has a feeling that they’re barely keeping the beast under control, a great, almost going off the rails feeling to this show where it feels like the band is being played by the music 🌋

11/1/85, Richmond: I gotta choose, the Jack Straw is my number one version. One of my earliest recordings I had and best loved shows of all time.

That’s all I have for now, listening to the SPAC 83 show right now, first time in a while, man it’s a smoker 🌋😄

  15. I hear ya on that, Rude. It’s tough when they’re so little and tough on grandma for sure also. I chalked it up as being impossible with leaving the kids but Jake said he’s goin either way so I figured I had to give it a shot, it didn’t take much convincing and my mom agreed to stay with them. Our youngest starts kindergarten in the fall so it makes it easier.

Not bringing the taping stuff, I’ve more or less abandoned doing it, it was fun and met many friends while set up but it really cuts into the amount of fun you can have. If I could set something small up that I didn’t need to monitor I’d do it every time.
